I found about the predecessor to tbc from a link on a topix forum I was reading. I follow an investor's forum, but this is the only general message board I have ever joined and ever will.

I thought I was banned but I did not really check exactly how banned I was and then I read a post that kiebers posted that implied I was so I did not check for so long. Then one day I thought I'd post a joke in the funnies thread and I was able to.

It's not like we don't know these people Fash.  I've posted with some of these folks for over 10 years now.  It takes all but a couple of posts to know they're exactly who they are on other boards.  Some of these people were given many chances and they don't change.  I think that's our disconnect.  We know these people whom you wish to give the benefit of the doubt.



I agree with you Shen.  Quality over quantity but there's a place for almost everyone :)

BTW, you don't have to change you avi simply because someone is uncomfortable with it. As long as it breaks no decency rules it's fine. There are other avatars used or have been used here that are somewhat unsavory as well.  In fact a moderator here uses an avi that is the face of a character from the movie "Escape from NY"; it's pretty creepy as well. No one really says anything because they probably don't know what it is or where it comes from. Another has a penchant for using homicidal clowns; again no one raises an eyebrow. the avi nor the name are an issue to me. the first forum i joined was a gore forum and it was appropriate then. i just kept it for each forum i joined because i don't post like a douchebag and theres no need for me to 'hide my identity'.... its just an avi and if it rattles that sensitive little flower so badly, i can change it.... presto.... besides, i'm just passing through occasionally. this is yalls house. i try to oblige when possible.... :)

I stay away from that violent stuff, blood, guts, and gore. It's almost unbelievable, isn't it? Coming from someone who likes The Walking Dead but that is a show of survival, relationships, the human drama. I don't look at the gorey stuff. I'm drawn to their struggle to survive, eager to see what they will be faced with next and how they will deal with it. I never consider it as that bad. I don't like to watch slasher movies at all.



The other stuff though, murder, killing, dark intentions, I don't like those. Porn is also not my cup of tea. If ever VF was hoping I would never go back there, I think they may have found the formula to keep me away. I suppose we can all exist in the same forum but I don't appreciate videos of slapping fat lard asses in a thread I want to post in. I think I am spoiled. The forums I've visited have been pretty tame now that I think about it.

They will fir into Van quite nicely, with the rest of the rabid mongols.



I'm fully aware that I'm being something of a guard dog, but if we want real progress, alters like Opie Kindred, here only to create mischief, and miscreants like Deadskin and his posse, likewise, are not going to help. I know its not my forum, and I know I have a history of being vocal about forum misdirection...but I know, with no due humility, that I form part of the core culture that grows daily, along with the some of the other solid posters like Renee, RW, Shen, Annie and even GBB (an underrated member by far).



I am not going to discourage new and genuine members. Far from it. I put in some effort in making TBC work, including enduring Renee's vituperations and "self-depreciations". But when I smell a rat (and I'm very good at smelling rats...I used to be one, remember), I'll ring the bell. I hold no admin position, so people, as always can take or leave my comments.



Oh...and the fact that Deadskin has decided "we're not for him" simply confirms my suspicions. He's been outed, and there's no point in trying to continue salting himself and his cronies here.

I read him at BF and I have read 1400 or so posts here. A lot of them going back and forth with me. No issues yet. Until there are some I will not worry about it. Same with the others. Right now entertainment value is high and I am enjoying them. The others are learning the ropes and if they don't like it I am sure they will leave. I am not going to rush to judgement. Not my style. I'm thinking everything will be fine either way.

Most will be fine. The ones that can't handle the rules will leave. They seem to be conforming pretty good. Finding out there are several I have known for a long time. New blood was needed. We shall see who stays and goes. DSM has fit in very well and I believe there will be a few others that will as well.

Well the "S" was grilled scallops with a shrimp sauce on a bed of shrimp fried rice. Fresh green beans with a slight crunch. And of course the "M" was a Patron Margarita. Had an anniversary coupon to use. Wife had a grilled seafood platter with grilled shrimp, fish, scallops and oysters on the same rice with green beans and a margarita. Grand daughter had the blackened Mahi Mahi with shrimp sauce on shrimp fried rice and green beans. We really like their green beans if you hadn't noticed. Not a bad evening for Grandpa and his girls. Well worth the money.

I find lately that memebee has been a bit of a bore, a snorefest.

Mimi's not as combative as she used ta be.

Why, even kiebers hasn't been his usual grouchy garrulous self.

And tharz jes' been few topics I've had enough interest to get me motivated to post in them.

This is no slight on anyone there as I've had no tifs with anyone there recently.



Actually, the Blue Cashew has been more entertaining as of late.

i agree with socks about 50% of what he said about BF.... but those were posters that were locked up downstairs which is also where socks CHOSE to post.... there were alot of decent folks that didn't post in the sewer.... those are the majority of who are at VF now....

i took the liberty of posting links to both forums on one of my playstation forums.... the ppl there are completely harmless since they mostly talk about games anyway.... theres no profanity or racist slurs so i think they will fall in with yall pretty quick.... if any show..... since its a playstation forum, most just want to talk video games and get their 'nerd' on.... good luck.... :)

i can appreciate this post and i understand it for the most part.... the majority of the other forum feel the same way. i guess because i wasn't a part of the conflict and given the fact i post on both forums without resentment for either, the line in the sand is blurred to me. but i will try harder to avoid adding my two cents when forum politics are brought up....

One side of my lips is curled up into a sly grin because I'm amused just thinking about how you have no idea what certain posters can really be like in your newfound forum way over yonder. My observations of some of the new friends of the forum over yonder is this, only a handful are actually quite friendly. Only a handful. Some are not even showing any appreciation for being let into a new forum, even demanding to change it to fit their needs, complaining how they miss their forum or what they used to enjoy. Oh my God. If I owned that forum, I'll say, "Excuse me, you are in my castle so you bend to my rules, not the other way around! I don't need you that bad to bend my rules for you." They were welcomed by regulars but some of them did not even acknowledge the welcome, just acted like they had every right to be there.

in their defense, they are used to gore and porn forums.... this is the first 'normal' forum most have ever seen.... i'm actually amazed how smooth its been. they will calm their tits soon enough.... :)

Well, good for them. I was pleased to hear many of you are American because I'm not Canadian.  :laugh:  I liked the idea that not everyone is from Vancouver. I often felt like an oddball because most were from Vancouver but not I. Ah well, I failed to make a connection and that's just fine. I was hoping to make a connection with the ladies who were similar to me, working full time with children too and living in the US as well.

We have a wii, an xbox with that motion thingy, a couple ps2, ps3and a Nintendo thing. All are packed away and haven't been played for a long while. The Nintendo is the only one that gets played a few times a year. I'm thinking of selling a few.....
