Bad news...I believe your fires are as catastrophic and destructive as ours.

Hope you can put them out soon.

Dangit! Why is my computer being so sucky? Anyways, my pc is not as important as what's happening with the forest fires. The trees, the animals, the homes, the people, the air quality, the water restrictions....From where I am we can't see anything beyond a few miles and no mountains are visible anymore.

We can smell it from Burnaby Mountain, very heavy. How's your air quality?

Winds changed and places like Yorkton, Saskatchewan made it hard to breathe outside the other day. Reminds me of the Slave Lake, Alberta fires of a few years ago. Winds changed and sent all that smoke South over Edmonton. It blocked out the sun and had people choking.

Ours is still pretty good but one change in the winds and we'll be smelling campfire.

There was a family not too far away from here who had built a concrete fire refuge with electrical connection and everything. When the fires ripped through a few years ago, the heat melted the electrical wires within the fortification walls and began sucking out valuable oxygen from the enclosure while the man of the house did his best to plug the holes and keep his family breathing. Fire is unpredictable. Lots of people died on that day.

Holy shit that's a lot of fuel. Our shit gets burnt and grows better because of it. Do your burnt trees still grow after the fire or is that it for them?

That's usually it for our trees but we get great new growth all around them.

Terrifying. And all you can do is sit, watch and hope.

Stay safe, y'all.

And prepare to evacuate...

And don't think...not for one minute...that it won't happen where you live.

I don't think that for one minute.  We've had BIG fires very close to home.

Holy shit RW, you're a lot closer to a major fire than I thought. It's quite smoggy and a little hard to breath here but we don't see the flames at least.
