I tried to get loose but he wouldn't let go. He kept hitting me and hitting me, and I couldn't breathe.
I was so scared. I didn't know what to do. When I finally got home I cried all night long.
Then on our second date...

This isn't looking very good for the prosecutor.

I read a bit of her testimony until I could not bear to read anymore.

I know. It's ridiculous. It makes me wonder if she's out to sabotage the prosecution's case.

She's making the defense's job easy for them.
If he's found not guilty will he get his job back?

Probably not but I have a sick feeling he might just sue the CBC when this turkey shoot is over. All three plaintiffs destroyed.

Ahhh, the CBC. The billion dollar/year gift from us to the LPC. :negative:

Apparently so but up until now I was only aware of the three that were actually filing charges. Now that they've all fallen on their swords the crown is looking to call at least one other person to testify. The judge has allowed it so stay tuned. This should be good. :pop:

I believe a fourth accuser testified today..
If he's acquitted, what do you predict for his career?
Maybe satellite radio? A podcast? It's weird because in his mind he's been completely vindicated, but I can't imagine any mainstream media company ever wanting to go near him now. He might just try to sue the CBC for lost wages.

I believe he will return to broadcasting too, but like you said he's finished with mainstream..

He will be in the news after this over.
I don't know what kind of defense CBC could put together to counter dismissal.
Q sucks without him.

I don't know either. Maybe something like: We reserve the right not to hire people who beat up women? =P
I had never even heard of Q until all of this became news.
What he does in his bedroom is no business of the employer.
What the fuck ever. Even if CBC was too hasty in getting rid of him, he's admitting he's violent. That is a millstone around the neck of anyone in the public spotlight. Maybe the ugly little shit can bulk up and start a new career in the WWF. Hey, Mike Tyson did it.

Ordinarily I'd agree but I wouldn't feel comfortable working with someone who beats up women. I think it should be a case of don't ask - don't tell, and he told. ac_unsure
edit: Also, it assumes that everything that happens in the bedroom is sex, and I don't think sex and violence are the same thing.

Yes. I won't be lining up to get his autograph anytime soon. :nea:

Some people like pain with their pleasure.
On the rigs, we have a way of dealing with hands if we find out they like smacking around women or kids. They always quit.

Ted Bundy was into that kind of thing.
Just sayin'.

Jian Ghomeshi is cowardly little shit. Could you imagine if that little fruit went to prison.
I read this about his prospects for suing CBC.
Employment and labour lawyer Howard Levitt says the lawsuit amounts to nothing more than a PR stunt, and called it a "joke" since Ghomeshi is a member of a union.
"Unionized employees...cannot sue for wrongful dismissal, they can't sue for constructive dismissal, they can't sue for anything arising over the employment relationship. All they can do is go to an arbitrator and hope to get their job back and some back-pay," said Levitt.
I have not paid attention to this until the trial, but I had thought there was at least one who accused him of workplace sexual harassment?
I didn't consider he was unionized. Yep. No suing. He can only file a complaint with the appropriate Labour Relations Board. In cases like this, it's usually better for an employee to fight for reinstatement.
"Advocates for sexual assault victims have wondered why the after-the-fact behaviour of the accusers is relevant to this case at all, and point out that women can sometimes react to traumatic events in ways that might confuse onlookers. One of the accusers herself, Lucy DeCoutere, even opined that the women's behaviour shouldn't be on trial; only Ghomeshi's alleged actions should be."
Do you think these women's actions in pursuing further relations with Jian are the markings of some strange reaction to abuse?
I never thought this case would go the way it has once it reached court.
Given the testimony, I can't believe it went to court.
