All mixes are unique, but rule of thumb would be if it says cool to 80 & add mix, try 110 F
Since he discovered this, every single batch (1 per wk) is thick and delicious - he makes 2 quart batches
OH, and lately he tried 3 x 5 gram packs of mix instead of 2 - wowzers, is it goooood

I have never tried home made yogurt, so I cannot say..
We don't buy enough from the supermarket to make it cost effective to invest in an incubator..
But maybe if we had some delicious home made yogurt we might change our minds.

You can use diatomaceous earth (pool filter sand) to achieve the same thing.
You can also use it as a flea powder. Anything with a exoskeleton (insects) is repelled by diatomaceous earth.
