That looks like the Blackbird. It came for Expo. Got to see it at eye level and about 500 ft away from my then  27th floor apt up against Stanley Park.

It came in over the park with tail way down at slowest speed, looking like it might fall out of the sky - then right beside the apt he hit the throttle hard, it jumped to horizontal in a heartbeat, was gone in seconds and broke sound barrier over Expo (not far away) ... it scared the shit of 1000s of visitors

The acceleration was so great, from my windows it was almost a "now you see it, now you don't"

I'll never forget it ... it was ominous, powerful, sleek  and a beautiful scupture all in one package

I would so love to see it make a comeback! To hell with the f-35! We used to be on the cutting edge before Diefentraitor shut the program down.

I saw one close up at the museum of flight in Seattle. Like something out of a sci-fi movie!  ac_wot

Speaking of the f35, it seems this government will go ahead and buy them despite saying they would not during the election.

I got the impression from the minister of defense that he sees them as the best option. Who knows with this government though. They break more campaign promises than they keep.

I've seen it happen (breaking promises) to every MP once they get to Ottawa. I think there's something in the water.   ac_unsure
