"Wow! You performed at an absolute genius level on this test -- that is the highest possible score that anyone can achieve. You're in the top 1% ranking! This test included questions which had some of the most misspelled words and phrases in the English language. A lot of people fail this quiz because they confuse elicit/illicit, alluded/eluded, and some even misuse to/too/two, but you know your grammar and spelling exceptionally well!"

Seems you aren't alone at the top.
A+ for me aussi.
Bollocks!!
In any case, I didn't have to study for years in a University to earn MY score.
Genius Level A+
Christ, that was easy. What a disappointment.
You guys are native English speakers ffs. Doing well on a silly test is nothing to crow about.
English is kind of ridiculous.
This one is a bit harder...

I don't believe you. Next you'll be telling us you're not the type to say I told you so..
Personally I love saying I told you so. =P

#2 is wrong btw. As far as I know if two items are different from a third item it's perfectly correct to say that item A is more different than item B.
Also #5 is stupid because it doesn't show the complete sentence (and I have no idea what all those fancy terms mean.) =P

#2 is a very nit picky rule.
I've never paid much attention to all the technical grammar terms. I just go with what sounds and feels right. Seems to work fairly well for me.
What HE said^^^.
For the record, "different than" has been used for hundreds of years without too much fuss. I highly doubt you'd ever get called out for writing it.

I have a grammar rule that goes something like this: When in doubt, word it differently. =)))
Hey I found a cool site: //http://www.thepunctuationguide.com/index.html
You think it's cool haha.

Jealous.

Jealous.
I think you mean envious? ac_biggrin
No I meant jealous.
Quote from: "RW"
No I meant jealous.
How can I be jealous of your geekdom? Envy would be my reaction because you have more geekness than I.
Jealous means to show envy.
Quote from: "RW"
Jealous means to show envy.
No, jealously occurs when something we posses is threatened by another person. Usually it's a relationship.
Envy occurs when we desire something someone else has. In this case it's your geekiness. :laugh3:
That's not the only meaning of jealous though. Definitions of jealous include:
* feeling or showing envy of someone or their achievements and advantages.
synonyms: envious, covetous, desirous
* feeling or showing suspicion of someone's unfaithfulness in a relationship.
synonyms: suspicious, distrustful, mistrustful, doubting, insecure, anxious
* fiercely protective or vigilant of one's rights or possessions.
synonyms: protective, vigilant, watchful, heedful, mindful, careful, solicitous
I'm not going to argue this with you.
Just be advised that you are wrong. ac_sothere
I am most certainly not wrong.
Quote from: "RW"
I am most certainly not wrong.
Yes you are.
Nope.
Quote from: "RW"
Nope.
Yep.
From a psychological standpoint alone you wrong.
Jealousy and envy are distinctly different emotions. Unlike jealousy, envy completely lacks the feelings of betrayal and outrage that are necessary for jealousy to occur.
I feel no betrayal or outrage at not having your level of geekness. I only feel relief. :laugh3:

Okay Buffalo Bob, that's enough out of you.
Hannibal Lecter: First principles, Clarice. Simplicity. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature? What does he do, this man you seek?
Clarice Starling: He kills women...
Hannibal Lecter: No. That is incidental. What is the first and principal thing he does? What needs does he serve by killing?
Clarice Starling: Anger, um, social acceptance, and, huh, sexual frustrations, sir...
Hannibal Lecter: No! He covets. That is his nature. And how do we begin to covet, Clarice? Do we seek out things to covet? Make an effort to answer now.
Clarice Starling: No. We just...
Hannibal Lecter: No. We begin by coveting what we see every day. Don't you feel eyes moving over your body, Clarice? And don't your eyes seek out the things you want
