We are fine Fash, thank you. The thunder and lightning was worst I have seen. Dog was insane during the show. Had 13.5" of rain from 3am to about 5:30 or 6:00. Luckily my home is on a street that drains extremely fast. It may flood but hardly ever goes over the curb. I imagine we were at least up to the sidewalk today. Probably one of the worst rain storms, in terms of flooding, that we have ever had. (I do blame a lot of that on how much ground we have covered with concrete) Schools had to close as well as numerous businesses. Earlier there were 4 deaths reported but I do expect as the water finally recedes there will be more. Supposed to continue raining until Thursday. More on the way now. Shouldn't be as bad the rest of the week though. Flooding will continue since the ground is already soaked to the max. North and west Houston got it bad and the runoff will flood south Houston. Ain't we havin' fun

The girl at the front of the line was quite tall, in 4" hooker heels stood over 6'. She was also wearing this microskirt up to her bum crack and crotch.
She wasn't one one of 'em high class hookers that gets escorted around. More like the kind you see hanging around street corners showing off their wares to passing motorists.
Prostitutes/Call Girls typically wear these 4"+ high heels, mini-skirts up to the crotch, long shoulder length hair and caked in lipstick and makeup carrying a small purse.
A young escort sat down beside me on the Vancouver SkyTrain recently; hooker heels, the bag, the mini-skirt and the low cut dress showing lots of skin.

September 13, 2008 is when Ike hit here. Lost the place in Galveston and power was out at my house here in Houston for 10 days or so. Temps in the 90's and humidity about the same and no A/C. Lots of batteries, ice, and camping bottles of propane.

				Indeed he was...
This is the exit we take to get to the house in Galveston. The debris is covering 3 lanes of fwy and the water on the right, bordered by a line of greenery is the feeder/access road. You could see my house from there easily. Water is easily 5-6 feet higher than normal. Boat dealer lost a lot of new boats in that storm. Wish I had known he was leaving all of them. I saw him lock the gate but figured he was coming back. Probably a couple million worth of boats left to the storm.

Back to the present.....
This is not very far at all from my house, half mile or so. I live off of the Jones Rd he is paddling down, but I am much higher. This is a few blocks from Cypress Creek which is well over its banks for quite a few miles. More rain coming today. Gonna be an expensive flood for both property and life. Death count is up to 8. Schools are still closed.

Some of the video I have seen of the flooding looks like a Hollywood movie.

This reminds me of the Southern Alberta floods..
We live close to the river but on the higher North side..
We didn't think we would have to evacuate, but we did for a few days..
Our basement and garage suffered the most damage..
I hope you have no damage to your house kiebers.

So far no. But we just had another storm hit and there were some fairly high winds, probably 50 mph(80 kph). At work now so don't know if anything was damaged today. Boss has a creek in his back yard and said it was rising extremely fast.

It didn't get close to his house. Due to the super soaked ground it went up fast but it also drained off fairly quick. Our county flood warning system has a map that shows rainfall amounts for different areas of Houston/Harris county. If you go there you can select the different times to see what the totals were. Only because they don't have a 4 day selection choose 7 days to see the totals. Closest to my house is 14.36 inches and most of that dropped in 2-3 hours.

It's my experience that "Thundershirts" don't work. My vet recommend I try it but Tyler ate his. He literally chewed it into little bits during a stormy night. I woke up to a panicky dog and a $50 dollar dog shirt in shreds. :oeudC:  The shirts are supposed to hug the dog and make them feel secure and give a calming effect.....bullshit.  :laugh3:
Dogs not only fear the noise but they also feel the static electricity in the air which is what causes the anxiety and some dogs are constantly on the verge of panic. A tight shirt does nothing to alleviate that, I don't even see how it can.
Phenobarbital or Acepromazine usually works best. There are other sedatives on the market but those are the most common.

This one is the only one I have had that goes bonkers like this. Traumatic memory I suppose. My other dogs didn't like a big storm but they stayed fairly calm. Hopefully it doesn't get too crazy tonight. Just contracted for a new section of fence to be put in and I would like for this one to stay up until then. It was almost blown down Wednesday. Got some anchors in the ground with straps holding it.

It is kind of normal. Still a few flooded areas that have major streets/highways covered. Slow to drain due to the flooding downstream (down town) that could occur. On the northwest/west side of town a normal commute of 1 hour is taking up to 2 hours. As soon as the water drains off and the roads are considered safe it will go back to the normal. I hope...LOL

Has life returned to normal yet? Or is there more storms, floods or tornadoes in the forecast.
Right on brother. No natural disaster is a match for a Texan.

Oh and we really really, really, really really do wish we could blame the foot on birthday festivities of any kind....however...sigh

Glad to hear that you are okay.
I'm sorry to hear about your wife's foot though. Did she break it putting it up someone's ass? ac_biggrin
Glad your OK too. I've been stuck in the Houston airport 4 times. Once I had to spend the night in that shithole as most of the hotels are 30 minutes away. Between the airlines and airports, screw you every time. George Bush International.

Severe flooding continues in Southeast Texas
Severe flooding has forced more than 1,000 people from their homes in Southeast Texas, and at least eight people have died statewide. After days of relentless rain, the Brazos River near Houston is at record levels and threatens to cause more flooding.

I hope kiebers family and property are unharmed.

Thanks. So far so good. Another 13 inches north of us. Another 6 inches at my house. Smaller towns being evacuated around the Brazos river mandatory in some areas. Forecast is to have rain the next 7 days. It has been really bad in a lot of areas but it will have to get a lot worse to cause me a problem.
This video is on the most popular tubing river in Texas. This happened yesterday.

Rentals. This is just how fast and dangerous the canyon can be. It just
happened literally 5 minutes ago. A
guy wanted to check his tent, so he parked his jeep and waded across the
bridge when it was just starting to run and only knee deep. (After
being told not to and that the canyon was going to flood.) All at once a
huge wall of water came and the video shows the result. We went down
into the campgrounds to tell him his Jeep was being washed away. He
came and sat on the tiers in front of our house to watch it go.

The river in the vid is on the south side of Canyon Lake. I have a place, in a subdivision on the river, on the north side of the lake. If that house floods then an ark will definitely be needed.

Does this bring back memories of when we had to evacuate our house because of flooding..
I hope you don't have to go through that kiebers.
