I am a classic sitcom junkie. I thought I would post some videos of golden oldies.
All in the Family deserves two.
Another All in the Family spin off.
A Happy Days spinoff
Another Happy Days spinoff, but I was not crazy about Laverne and Shirley.
Can't forget Dobie Gillis...

What about Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends? Have they earned the privilege to be considered classics?

No way Jose.
I hated Welcome Back Kotter
I include The Flintstones because it is based on the Honeymooners.
And the real Flintstones.

My first criteria is for them to have been filmed in black and white. There are a few in color that can never be duplicated like All in the Family and there are those that were so fricking good they have to be on the list. Those will probably get there some where along the line.
Herman you posted the Carol Burnett video. My favorite of hers was this one. So funny when they cracked themselves up.
And the spin off of the MTM show.
Not one of the better ones, but Beth Howland who played Vera died today.
Edit: Beth Howland died December 31, 2015. It was announced to the press today.
Remember Rerun anyone?
Very good thread Herman..
:smiley_thumbs_up_yellow_ani:
Some of these shows I never heard of.

Do you like any of the old classic comedy shows RW?
Tons! I grew up in Podunk so we got the old shows like Lassie, Leave It To Beaver, I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, etc.
Does anyone remember the show with a maid named Hazel?
I had to Google this.

Thanks Herm!
My dad used to call me Hazel whenever I was cleaning. He said I reminded him of the maid from a show. Now I get it :)
Some of these shows are really, really fucking old.
And if you grew up in the middle of nowhere, they would have been your after school tv. :)

I have only lived in one place in Canada and it is a major city, so I wouldn't know.
You're not missing much other than reruns of Lassie, Leave it to Beaver, and some cow tippin'.

I grew up in the city of Winnipeg with a lot these 60's shows. Anyone remember the Pink Panther?
I watched the first episode of the Roots 2016 A&E miniseries. Not a sitcom, but it is worth watching in my opinion.

I'm truly shocked!
Its my earliest memory of shows ever. A hero on horseback! The hero I looked up to, until Superman hit the big screen. I still never forgot the Lone Ranger though. Nor Zorro (the black and white ones). I was also more of a fan of Mighty Mouse over Mickey Mouse..... "Here I come to save the day!"
