I mean...they're a nice distraction from time to time, but are they really an essential?

I thought life was better before the age of the computer.
We were more free.
Its just made society more rigid, unforgiving.

I drive trains, but I can find out exactly what trains are scheduled to go at what time. What drops are to be made along the way, the footage of each train. What track it will be in, and whether I will have to wait in a siding for a priority train. Any information about my job, benefits or pension are available online. I don't need to call someone at our head office in Calgary during business hours.
