So many guys I know, are weighed down with the burden of responsibility, marriage, kids, a mortgage. They can't walk away from them.

They're tied down. And if they try, well...there's always the long arm of the law to cull them back in like a big hook.



Now...perhaps some guys are perfectly happy with that kind of arrangement. Keeps 'em sane, focussed, and on the straight and narrow. And if they're into raising kids, that's their thang. I figger if I missed that stage of life, better to accept it. Oh well. Actually, I've some friends who are becoming dads in their 40s, 50s and (gasp!)....their 60s. Anyways they don' seem so happy at that point in their lives. The majority are nervous wrecks, their worlds falling down around them. Now I know this isn't the case with all guys, especially that age.



I guess a guy's a breeder, or else he ain't. Just like in Nature, humans have their social bees and solitary ones. Its the way she goes.



....just my three pence. Perhaps some of ya might care ta weigh in.



Especially the flaws in my outlook. Feel free to dig in, state your views. I don't mind.

I guess its not parenthood or marriage which is bad. It can be a positive thing. Its just when guys are forced to go there, unprepared, never wanted it in the first place & aren't well suited. Or they go there too late in life, thinking they were finished with that phase, only to find they are repeating (the same mistakes).



I think for the most part, if a guy didn't go there in his younger years, best not to venture in later years. I recently met a very well known ex professional football player who became a father in his 50s. He had twins. And now he says its really hard for him. Not like it was when he was a dad the first time around in his in his 20s or 30s. He's been married 2 or 3 times before.
