I have some great news for you all!
My clients want me back.  As Probate is now essentially complete, the wheels will once again roll until I decide what the fuck I want to do...
This means I'm back working, which means I'll be here even less than I am now!
RW and Renee can rejoice secretly now...
I would like to thank you all for accommodating me during this stressful time.
Regards,
Ace

				Why rejoice "secretly"?
I'm publicly fucking thrilled! :laugh3:

About time you did something besides drink.

That's a problem with people that have no major hobbies, like me!
I'll earn a few bucks, until I decide what the fuck I want to do...
I want to move outta here eventually...

What is better than having a hobby, is having one that makes money. Farming is the ticket for me.

Have you ever operated your truck while intoxicated?

No.  I don't drink on the job.
Although it used to be more "acceptable" in the 'good old days,' getting caught drinking or drugging while operating a commercial vehicle these days may make one unemployable in this field.
Doesn't matter if you're an owner/op, or a company employee.
Some employers may accommodate a good employee that made a mistake on their own time, in their own car.  However, drinking on company time in a commercial vehicle could pretty much end your career as a commercial driver...  At least for a while.

That's the problem for me...
I have my income down here, but want to get out...
Okanagan is good for "bang for the buck," but I'd have to do something...  Or I'd drink myself to death.  No joke!

I remember more than ten years ago in Calgary, a man drove a ready mix trunk drunks and killed a family of five..
He was drunk when he arrived at work.

I know that situation...
He threw his bottle into the chute (I've run ready-mix trucks)...
Someone saw him do this.
The driver was in his 60's!
No good.
That's a line I will never cross...  Business is business, and pleasure is pleasure.
You can not mix the two.

What do you farm. What kind of cash?

The operator of the truck only got five years in jail for killing five people.

I do not remember this incident from the news. But, only five years for killing five people while operating a dangerous piece of heavy equipment? That is crazy.

I know exactly what happened, since in my line of work I do keep tabs on these outcomes.
I won't post the drivers name, nor the company, but it was unfortunate.
The five year sentence reflects the fact that he didn't have any intention to harm or kill that day...  As sad as the outcome was of that accident, it wasn't 'pre-planned' per se...
Sentencing in Canada keeps relative to other crimes, and their sentencing lengths also...
Nonetheless, bad things can happen when the wrong person gets behind the controls of any motorized vehicle...

Premeditated or not, that light sentence was a joke.

It did not reflect the severity of the crime Herman.

Obviously not.
