Of course, the first thing we need to establish is who ARE these mods, as these positions seem to fluctuate without members actually knowing who is doing what to their posts.
I understand that at this time, cc Lafemme is one. Keibers is another.
Now, in the case of kiebers, "who?", I hear you ask.
It seems that Fash, in her desperation to find a mod, felt it necessary to go to Blurt's site and engage kiebers as a mod here. At the best of times kiebers barely posts, but for the most part, he has done little to nothing to advance this forum through engaging with members and actually contributing.
This is FAR from being a good moderator. The fact is he gave no fucks for this place, but his ego failed to inform him that accepting Fash's invite was perhaps inappropriate, as he was a member here in name only.
Given the difficulties in recruiting and retaining mods (although the retention problem had more to do with the former mod's own grievances and egos, to be fair), I've suggested moderators for each area of interest, whereby they can both moderate and contribute.
This suggestion appears to have gone nowhere, as cc was already a mod, unbeknown to us, and kiebers, despite his constant absence as a poster, still remains.
So, while I don't believe cc should be binned as she is working hard to promote interest and contributions in her particular area, I do believe kiebers offers nothing to this forum other than to be some sort of "monitor", and should be replaced by one or more people who have demonstrated a clear willingness to make the place hum.
By the way, kiebers also felt it appropriate to invite a known troll to return once Herman had been declawed. How is THAT acting in the forum's interest?
