4.   Posts containing pornographic, gory or gross content, images or links is not allowed. We ask if you are going to post material that is questionable for purposes of contextual discussion or for artistic purposes that you please provide a link to the image with a disclaimer rather than posting the image itself.



5.   If we believe your intention is to be irritating, obnoxious or make the board less fun for others we will confine to Reject Rodeo (RR) or revoke your posting privileges.



6.   Spamming is prohibited.



7.   If you are going to troll, please do so in the Reject Rodeo section of our board. The creation of sockpuppet accounts or impersonating other posters is discouraged. Creating alts to circumvent bans or account restrictions will result in the accounts being deactivated and a ban issued or extended.



8.   Please respect our moderators and administration staff while doing their forum duties. They are volunteers and don't get paid enough to take abuse from posters for doing a service to the board.



9. From time to time a circumstance will arise that we find unacceptable but is not outlined in these rules. The administrators and moderators will discuss the issue and decide on an appropriate course of action to be taken.



10.   Admins and moderators will enforce rules based on the severity and frequency of the offense. Punishment will range from warnings to restricted posting privileges to permanent banning and everything in between.

You keep emphasising this is a PRIVATE forum, like you're the holder of some intriguing wisdom.



We KNOW its a private forum, Tex.



But you seem unable to grasp the fact that without members posting, its a fucking DEAD PRIVATE forum.



What we don't need is a set of rules which declare, ipso facto (thats a legal term, look it up), if you conduct yourself in a way the staff don't like, you'll get punished. And the staff won't accept gore, porn, PRIVATE information (not PERSONAL), libellous material, or any post which contravenes law. One rule.



Herman did his job in accordance with those rules, so where's the need for them??



We're still "governed" by a mentality that is all about punishing miscreants; and I promise you this...if with your "rules" Mel will still create moronic threads, Twenty Dollars will still make intelligence, and Dinky Diana (whom you let back in) will still play dress ups and treat this place like a personal joke only he gets.

How does anyone know--I mean, for real--what Seamajor is like and what he's about in real life? How many people here have gone out for a beer (or a shot of Tequila) with him? Same goes for anyone else. The only people I know that have done that are Mel and Vesna, Gordy and Asal, and you and Shen. There are possibly others I'm not aware of but, all this to say, who folks are on the (quasi-anonymous) web and who they are in real life can be widely divergent. These forums are a form of theater; people choose the type of roles they want to play, and how to play them. Anybody who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.



I'd even be willing to go down a pint with Scouse; I'm guessing he's a nice enough guy away from these boards.
