It wasn't, it was a 2015. But I have had nothing but power train and drive system problems with it since the first month I got it. At this point it was either contact a lawyer and take the case through lemon law and then take a huge hit on trade or dump it out right.
Besides, it was paid off and it was too big for my needs. Trying to maneuver a full size crew cab F150 around in the small local parking lots here was a pain and it ate gas faster than a fat kid eats cake. It also sucked trying to park it on the days I needed to drive into the city. A lot of parking decks near the company offices didn't have enough head clearance.
So I down sized to a 2017 GMC Canyon. I prefer GM trucks over Ford anyway.

My dad, who I worship the ground on which he walks, was a police officer....not exactly a white collar profession. Once he retired, he and my uncle started a plumbing supply company/warehouse.....not a white collar profession either.
Most of my Uncles and cousins on my Dad's side of the family all come from an assortment of blue collar backgrounds.
My ex-husband, although he has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, chooses to be an HVAC contractor and pipe fitter because he enjoys working with his hands and building things. He and I started his company from the ground up 13 years ago and he now has a very successful business with over a dozen full time HVAC techs and another half a dozen admin personal and estimators.
So I've been around and associating with blue collar people all my life and never once have I thought less of them or criticized them for their chosen professions. But I will always criticize people like SCOUSE, who for whatever bullshit reason, refuse to better themselves or develop into something more that just a societal wart. That guy barely has enough ambition to wipe himself after he takes a shit and I find him repugnant.

My investments will have matured by then and remuneration will not be much of an issue. I will have thirty to thirty five years in the same occupation by then. It will be time for a change.

It's been agreed upon that any money received from my ex goes directly toward the education of the children. We currently have 2 in college and one will be going off to Post Secondary Ed. next year. That's something YOU will most likely never experience.

Wrong, I have great respect for blue collar tradesmen and blue collar workers like yourself who have worked all your life in professions that provide legitimate careers.
What I have very little respect for is unskilled labor such as burger flippers, pub bouncers, Walmart workers, broom pushers and ditch diggers. Anyone over the age of 30 still working menial labor jobs is either handicapped (which I exclude in this appraisal) or too lazy to improve themselves. SCOUSE is a prime example, uneducated and unskilled and dumb as the day is long and he makes a willful choice to remain that way.
Those types of people are not what I consider blue collar. They may get lumped in with that designation but it is unfair to people like Fash's husband, Herman or you to be in the same working social class as a retail cashier, a fry cook at Micky-D's or a janitor.

But, I didn't think your truck was that old?
It wasn't, it was a 2015. But I have had nothing but power train and drive system problems with it since the first month I got it. At this point it was either contact a lawyer and take the case through lemon law and then take a huge hit on trade or dump it out right.
Besides, it was paid off and it was too big for my needs. Trying to maneuver a full size crew cab F150 around in the small local parking lots here was a pain and it ate gas faster than a fat kid eats cake. It also sucked trying to park it on the days I needed to drive into the city. A lot of parking decks near the company offices didn't have enough head clearance.
So I down sized to a 2017 GMC Canyon. I prefer GM trucks over Ford anyway.

My ex-husband, although he has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, chooses to be an HVAC contractor and pipe fitter because he enjoys working with his hands and building things. He and I started his company from the ground up 13 years ago and he now has a very successful business with over a dozen full time HVAC techs and another half a dozen admin personal and estimators.
So I've been around and associating with blue collar people all my life and never once have I thought less of them or criticized them for their chosen professions. But I will always criticize people like SCOUSE, who for whatever bullshit reason, refuse to better themselves or develop into something more that just a societal wart. That's what I am doing now. I will only work in the patch the winter drilling season from now on. Farming is my passion. And the farm is where I will be about eight and a half to nine months a year.

What I have very little respect for is unskilled labor such as burger flippers, pub bouncers, Walmart workers, broom pushers and ditch diggers. Anyone over the age of 30 still working menial labor jobs is either handicapped (which I exclude in this appraisal) or too lazy to improve themselves. SCOUSE is a prime example, uneducated and unskilled and dumb as the day is long and he makes a willful choice to remain that way.
You know Renee, I plan on getting out of financial services in about ten to fifteen years now. I plan on working at a golf course even if it's only maintenance or greens keeper. My investments will have matured by then and remuneration will not be much of an issue. I will have thirty to thirty five years in the same occupation by then. It will be time for a change.
What does that have to do with anything?
After 35 years in the same professional position and if you have the means, you've earned the right to do what you want. Golf is your thing, so enjoy.
Not everyone wants a stressful work environment. As I get older I want less stress not more. I am not going to speak for Scouse, but maybe he decided a high income, but high stress career was not for him. Maybe a lucrative profession, is not worth high blood pressure.
The trades are great by the way. Financially rewarding and you only work long hours if you want to.

I heard it's standard for companies pay a higher salary if they transfer an employee to London.
