The reason I asked is that I know Texas like Alberta used to be attracts a lot of people from the rest of the country looking for better opportunities.

No doubt we have a mix. I remember when the "yankee" migration started. LOL  Many can't take the heat and go back up north but the same can be said for Texans that move north. They hate the cold. I have a friend that is looking to come back to Texas partially because of the cold. LOL

Here in VA we get a mix of both. It can get down to -5 even -30 with the wind chill, or up to 105 even 110 with heat index. Think -8 and 108 without windchill or heat index is the coldest/hottest I have seen here.

I've been busy getting ready to go to on a trip. First time flying, headed for Seattle, Washington, to my brothers for the week, hes getting married and Im a groomsman. Headed out in the morning. Other than that I would be chopping y'all's asses lol. Met a couple that owns a local moonshine still, they were giving away free samples, I had two, and continued when I got home lol.
