Any pics of the marine wildlife or whales mating to make Renee feel at home?
Dude...give it a rest.
Its a picture thread ffs.
And let me remind you that your snide remarks have as much chance of making her wince as your Jeremy Corbyn has of winning your election.
Which is to say, none at all.

Some fine pictures even if the colour was a bit off.
On the other hand, you masters of photography, there MAY be a glass wall between me and the tiger, that is slightly tinted to aid better viewing, and that BLUE tint is picked up in the camera. However, as you are so fucking nitpicky, I will fix it for your viewing pleasure!!!

Yes, its OK...we have pandas which is nice...
Its rather small.
The Australian animals I've photographed in the bush, but I decided to shoot the echidna because he's so darn cute, and the wallaby with joey was wonderful.

Our zoo is small, and has separated into a city based "caged" zoo, and an open range park about 80 km away. That is much nicer as the animals roam free.

We're about to get a herd of rhinos as part of the global effort to save them. That will be cool.

I saw a news program about the devastating impact that poaching is having on rhinos.
BTW, the marmoset pictured above is about the size of a newborn kitten. I think it is the smallest monkey on the planet, and it moves constantly and rapidly. I was very pleased to have got the shot that I did. I just happened to have the right kit on the day.

Its heartbreaking.
The governments of Africa cannot protect them because they wander in vast spaces and poachers are hard to detect. All because some Chinese believe the rhino horn has some therapeutic properties they are willing to pay big money for.
China must act to save the rhinos by educating their people that the horn has zero medicinal value.
Dispersing breeding stock to safe havens around the world is its only chance for survival now.

Well, it is for the lands that it is native too...but it means we get to nurture a species into a sustainable future, which we've proven to be very good at.
The rock wallaby shown above was once considered extinct due to the popularity of its pelts for the high class of London. But a small mob was discovered, and heavily protected from predators on both four legs and 2, and it is now relatively safe, and can be seen in its old natural habitat.

Will do.
But where is this, exactly?
It's gorgeous.
It is what we call the Flinders Ranges, a desert mountain range about 650 km north of Adelaide. The range in the distance is called Wilpena Pound (where Wolf Creek was partly filmed...a little horror trivia there).
Although the Pound itself looks like a meteor crater from the sky, it isn't. It's a natural formation. Many tourists died there before rangers were stationed nearby due to de-hydration, disorientation and exhaustion. These days you need to check out when going hiking, and check back in on your return, otherwise a search alert is triggered. The main problem is dehydration...without enough water you can rapidly succumb.
This shows how arid it is there, as well as Australia's commitment to the environment by not cutting down a tree that is in the path of the track.

Interesting.
I'd be more afraid of the weirdos in the hills than of getting my ass dehydrated, though.
(Yes, I've seen Wolf Creek.)
Good old Mick...always helping the pommy tourists.
But the countryside is much as was portrayed at the beginning of the film...vast open space, where the gullible and innocent fall easy prey to the psychopathic predators. Or, the scalpers at the service stations.
Sadly, weirdos do tend to find their way there in one form or another. From all countries. It has an allure to those who's mind is flaky.
I'm too White for Aussieland...
It's too hot there for me.
I thought you were too White for Vancouver, Mel.

I wanted to post more pix but, damn! my PC just experienced its third hardcore crash in as many months. I lost everything again. One of these days, a window will pop up on my screen but instead of saying "Windows has detected a hard disk failure on this computer" it will say "We told you so! Goodbye for realz!" Time to consider the purchase of a new machine.
I don't remember exactly where the "Nobody spoke for ages" photo was taken, Fash. We crossed so many tiny towns along the way.

Is there much poverty in Vanuatu?
It depends on what you call "poverty". There is little money and employment. Most NiVans live at a subsistence level in small huts, within villages scattered around the island. There is no bitumen outside the capital, Port Vila, and some villages have no power.
Yet to describe them as poor would be deceptive. They have far less than us, but are much happier, friendly and fun than we could ever be.
Material goods mean nothing to them. Family is everything. The only thing I ever heard them complain about was the price of LPG from Australia, and that is because the government taxes the crap out of it.
Its a tropical paradise that has a totally different perspective on life that the materialistic west.
This guy...

Or East.
Vanautu seems like a place where they have never heard the words rush hour or rat race. If they have a couple decent golf courses I would consider a trip there.
There's not even a traffic light in the entire country.
The bus system is amazing. The buses are just mini-vans, and they just cruise anywhere. If you want a bus, just hang around and wait for one to come along, and hop on board. Fare is the same, $1 per person per ride. They drop you off where you want to go. There are no bus stops.
Crime is rare, and is usually alcohol or kava fuelled. Very few police...laws are enforced by village chiefs.
Yet those who have visited are touched by its serenity, simplicity and peace.

What about GOLF? Is there at least one golf course?
Ah...no.

Ah...no.
Vanautu has been crossed off my bucket list.
More birds from the back door...Australian native wattle birds.

A Black faced cuckoo shrike.
Neither a cuckoo, or a shrike...believed to be related to Orioles. Sorry about the poor quality...it was a rushed shot on a heavily backlit subject.

Oi!!!
That is a PHOTOGRAPHY thread!!!
I know you have some nice pics, Renee.
Ante up.
Sorry I couldn't resist....but I'm trying.
I've posted enough of my pics in previous threads, digital and otherwise.
Besides, most of my really nice pics are lost to me, as are a great many other things. They reside on hard drives and on CDs that I no longer have access to.
Your pictures of Seattle were nice Renee.
ac_smile
Thank you but they were phone pics....that's not real photography.
But, the views from your hotel room were real and beautiful.

fat fuck never left her bed that's why they were hotel loom shots

Apparently you're begging for my attention today...it must be a full moon. Be careful what you wish for, you bumbling, poor mouthed, white trash, slob.
So what's the matter, why so needy?... Your rice picking, monkey faced bitch find a bigger wallet to latch on to?
Maybe if you took a shower once in a while or even maybe wiped your ass every other shit, a civilized women would take interest in you....she would have to be deaf and blind and have no sense of smell but no worries, as they say, there's an ass for every toilet seat.
Your back yard bird pictures are my favourite shots Bricktop.

What kind of tree is that?
An almond tree. This area was once farmland, and the farmer planted a grove of almond trees. They are feral now, but have a beautiful blossom and attract birds and bees, and so have been left.
We do not harvest any almonds from them.
BECAUSE THOSE FUCKING BIRDS EAT THE LOT BEFORE WE CAN GET TO THEM.
Bastards!!!

Yes.
Almond trees.
There's a remnant of an old almond grove on the bushland behind us.

I didn't think almonds grew on trees.
Well, they don't come in bags at Lee Kim's Chinese Megastore!!!!
