I don't follow baseball, but congrats to the Astros. I guess there will be a parade in Houston.

Saw the beginning at the restaurant but actually I didn't have a great feeling about the game. Houston sports teams have a tendency to make it to the top then fall down. So I figured if I tried to not watch it we would win. So I pretty much tried to not watch. It worked...LOL

I heard that Minute Maid park was standing room only to watch the game on the big screen. Seats behind and under the screen were vacant but there was a helluva crowd there. Parade is tomorrow. Houston ISD is closing school for the day. Not sure our district is closing yet but they may. Going to be a crazy day in Houston tomorrow.

Not sure if anyone saw it but Carlos Correa (shortstop) proposed to his girlfriend. He is now engaged to a former Miss Texas.

Yes,I  heard  about  it. I am a Jays  fan. But, since they were not in it, it was any team, but the Dodgers.

Fans were in a parking garage watching the parade and a woman dropped her hat. Fans helped return it.

No way. Entirely too many going. Quite a few didn't even make it. They opened up NRG (Texans) stadium parking so people could catch the light rail into downtown. Twenty minutes before the parade was going to start, there was a line in two directions that was over 2 miles long each.

They are estimating 750,000 were downtown. With those that got stuck all over town trying to get there I would imagine there were close to a million there or making the attempt.

Fortunately there were no "issues" there. They had snipers on the buildings in case something happened. Lots of police on the ground mingling with the crowd. Had a few charged with criminal mischief for dancing on tops of vehicles and damaging them. Other than that no real problems. Antifa sure missed an opportunity to protest...that would have been hilarious...LOL

I'm a home town fan of all the Houston teams. Not to happy with the NBA as a whole right now...LOL  I am not as big a fan as my wife and son but I do pay attention to what's going on. The Astros came to Houston in 62 as the Colt 45's changed the name to Astros in 64. So I have been a fan since they got here.

approx 1/2 way through 1-0 Astros

but ... have left 7 on base

oops - 3-2 Washington in 7th ... MANY left on base is killing Astos .. Can't do that  without greatly reducing chances to win  :sdfjh(2):

now 2 more on in 7th I think .................. damn, left them on too

That must be a let down kiebers. Baseball is not really my game, but I go see a Blue Jays game or two every year. I could imagine the collective disappointment if that had been the Blue Jays losing game seven at home.

No doubt we are disappointed. But we and most everyone is still appreciative of the team. The best record doesn't always win the prize. In fact this year with neither team winning at home, that best record screwed us....LOLOL

I love the bromance between the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals. Today, the Capitals honored the Nationals at their ice rink before their 7 p.m. game against the Calgary Flames. Washington is on fire.
