We've been to Singapore many times, and love it there. Our daughter lived in Japan, so we've been there.
I recall many years ago stories that Taiwan discouraged visitors.

It looks a little like Singapore...which is a GOOD thing. Different cultures, of course. But it certainly looks worth a look. It has natural beauty that poor old Singapore can't offer, and some cool wildlife!!!

It's not for everyone though... I like to smoke and drink whenever I want, and wherever I want, and Vegas offers me this and more!
If you've never been, it's worth a trip, if you were wanting to visit the US. Renting a car or truck will let you explore the desert and some ghost towns.
DON'T bother visiting Canada. I'm not joking here... We have NOTHING to offer that the US cannot do better, and our prices are higher. That's why the US has 10 times the population that we do.

St. Helena would be a trip, literally.
Argentina also came up as an interesting choice, as there's towns there that are literally German (and thus nice, clean and safe).

Thing is Europe is such a pain in the arse to get to. And I've been there. Thinking of somewhere new, but not so touristy...thats why Taiwan has an appeal. The Chinese are great hosts.

They don't wash...either body or clothes.
They drink only beer.
They eat only fish and chips or pizza, so no dishes.
The have a communal lavvy...well, its an abandoned factory, but it does the job if you wear a gas mask.
So, in summer they just sneak into a garden with a hose, prise out the dentures bought at an op-shop, and give them a quick spray.
Job done.

I believe you thought I was not aware that Mike Myers was Canadian but I know that he is. I've known it since I became aware of him.
