Have a good long weekend Americans. ac_drinks
Thank you. Turkey is smoked, pies are made and the rest is being prepared. Should be a great dinner.

Thank you!

Just make it in a pan as we have always done. We never actually "stuff" the turkey with anything even when cooking it in the oven. Normally too many people eating and the turkey would not hold enough. Not saying it has never happened but very seldom.
Merry Yank day. Has Trump built that wall to keep out those pesky taco-n1ggers yet?

Just to rewarm it is all since we did the smoking yesterday. We did it at 250F for a little over 4 hours. Going to be tasting it in a few minutes. Table is being filled up as I type. ac_biggrin

It's Your 'Civic Duty' to Ruin Thanksgiving for Your Trump-Supporting Family Members
Quote
A piece in GQ Magazine calls on readers to make Thanksgiving Day "hell" for any relatives who support President Donald Trump.
"It's time to ruin your Trump-supporting family's Thanksgiving—for America!" Joe Berkowitz wrote.
"If you're headed home to a household that still thinks a sex-offending game show host in rapid cognitive decline was the best choice for a president, it is your civic duty to filibuster Thanksgiving," he argued.
He offered several suggestions for how to ruin Thanksgiving dinner, including not showing up, showing up and being a jerk and going "scorched earth."

I love smoked turkey..
I wonder how that would affect the taste of the stuffing if the turkey was stuffed for the four hours in the oven.
I imagine it would have a smokey taste. We did it on the grill using the same technique that we do with the briskets. Pan of water underneath. Also used the brisket rub on it. It was quite tasty.
I am stuffed. Turkey, dressing, candied yams, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and mince meat pie. Good stuff. Hot Apple pie and ice cream in a few hours. I do enjoy Thanksgiving.

It took four hours to smoke the turkey?
I thought it would take longer.
It was only a bone in breast not an entire turkey. It had good heat flow through the middle, more so than a whole turkey would. Wasn't a huge breast either. It was fully cooked. Gonna make some adjustments on the smoking next time.
Ya do realise that the Brits only lost cos they were fighting a war 3000 miles from home .
The Yanks couldnt even beat the Japs without the use of BRITISH held territory .

I bought a whole smoked turkey the year before last. It was amazing.
Sounds like you had a good day. I wish I was there. I would have supplied the Scotch, soju and premium craft beers.

Trying hard and desperate. What did we expect?
In a way, I can understand why he got "Citizen of the Year" by the liberals. They love someone who makes waves like this.
I made what looks like this. This is called Hasselbeck Sweet Potatoes. Mine was topped with melted butter that had vanilla, cinnamon and brown sugar in it and then I covered it with chopped pecan halves.

It's not dessert. In the American traditional Thanksgiving meal, a dish of sweet potatoes goes with it as a side dish.

Im startin' to feel like a stuffed turkey lol. Was so many leftovers. I had to go to 2 homes.
I had turkey and gravy, stuffing, stuffing patties (my favorite), green beans and taters, mashed taters, rolls, sweet potato casserole which is similar to the dish Azhya made, sweet potatoes with marshmallows and stuff, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, broccoli and cheese, stuffed mushrooms, baked apples, pumpkin pie, pecan pumpkin cheesecake pie, pecan pie, blueberry pie, pumpkin roll, and I think that was it lol. I've been eating all that since Thursday. Last night we had open faced turkey sammiches covered in gravy. Gonna eat a turkey leg for lunch lol.
Behold, the American Thanksgiving spread.

And I thought we had a giant menu. Most of that we had, rolls, turkey and gravy, a beef roast for those who don't like turkey, green bean casserole, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cinnamon applebars, marshmallowed sweet ptatoes, mashed potatoes (with a bit of cream cheese in them, makes them extra smooth) 3 types of cranberries, stuffing with raisins and apples in it, carmel french toast for breakfasts.
its going to be leftovers till the weekend is over. Glad you had a good one Blazor ac_drinks

I love anything smoked. I've never had an actual smoked turkey, but store bought that was already smoked. I like it a lot. Would love to try one that was actually smoked.
