These Shiba's are really cute, I may have to get one...  :laugh:

We don't have a dog, but we're thinking about getting one.



I never had a pet growing up. My parents bought me a purebred New Zealand White rabbit when I graduated and bought my first house. I was in tears when he died. Mommy brought home a cat two and a half years ago and I'm totally attached to her.



I love animals and I never knew it until I was 23.

I like German Shepherds, chocolate labs, shar peis, chows and Boston terriers. They all taste good.

I have a norwegian elkhound and a german shepherd..



They are both for hunting..



Elkhound is for hunting animals and the shepherd is for hunting asian berry-gatherers on my land.

I heard they are an intelligent breed. However, I usually don't like short haired breeds.

Mini Pins are very protective of their family. They can be a bit snarly to strangers.

I'd love a dog.  The condo I own allows pets, but unfortunately living alone, and staying busy with work, would mean the dog would just sit here alone all day long, which wouldn't be fair.



If I ever retire, or find a significant other that can be around, then I would consider owning a dog.  Perhaps a Golden Lab or a German Shepherd.  West Highland White Terriers are actually pretty cool dogs also.



The owner of a gun store here once asked me if I wanted a Karelian Bear Dog that belonged to another customer of his, since customer was moving out of country.  I didn't even know such a breed existed until then...

Meet Booster Aryola. May he rest in peace. He was the best pet any person can ever have. He lived a good long 13 years. (This is not his photo but he looked just like this and he has photos like this.)

I see someone walking a black pug on my street. I like the tan coloured ones better.

Yes. I prefer the tan ones. Booster had a twin brother, or not twin but they were born at the same time, but at the time Booster was bought, I can only handle the thought of one pet. However, two of them are so cute together. Booster grew up with my children. He is a beloved pet.

Kinda like my sisters cat..





My german shepherd doesnt like strangers either..

They kill if you dont back off.



I gotta have him muzzled if I leave him outside a supermarket.. Might bite some fool who gets too close.. And then I have to put him down.

I vouch for this. He would jump and bark and run to the front door if there was someone at the front door. When he got older and developed a spinal disease and could no longer jump and run, he'd still bark.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.


It depends on what sort of dog appeals. If you want a lap dog that doesn't do much, then they aren't the dog for you. If you want an energetic, loyal, intelligent and active "little" dog they are ideal. Extremely protective of their family.

I agree about dogs and condos not mixing. My son lives in an apartment. An ideal habitat for a king snake.

If you live in the country and have stock, border collies are the near perfect breed..

When kids were young we had a Shetland, a smaller version of the border. She was "on duty" 24/7 to gently but surely keeping the kids in the yard, away from the road and  shore  ... and always on guard watching surroundings to protect from strangers.



They will attack anything that appears to be a danger to a herd of sheep under their watch

I dont think thats limited to shetlands..





My friends family had a female samoyed when we were kids and she watched over us..





She wasnt a good guard dog..



A loose finnish spitz attacked her and stood over her.. He was guarding his booty and it was really hard to get her back.

Shelties were a common breed of dog when I was growing up in Winnipeg. Not so much now.

Finnish spitz is a stubborn and brave dog.



Also the breed is original.. They still look the same as they did thousands of years ago.

Cats and bunnies can be left alone for a few days..



Dogs need to be taken outdoors several times per day..



And dogs are not as easy to leave at your friends house as cats and bunnies are.





They are gonna mess up your traveling plans if you are planning a trip to vegas.
