Rick Mercer used to do this stuff all the time.
I have to say that the knowledge of some of those people was pretty appalling.
In my experience, the awareness of the world outside the US by American citizens is concerning. This, in my view, has led to the debacles in the Middle East and elsewhere where the US has utterly failed to understand the cultural imperatives of countries they have attacked.
The standout to me is Afghanistan. On one of those rare occassions that the US was justified in attacking another country, it has mired itself down in the belief that it is protecting democracy by hanging around.
The moment the last US soldier leaves, the Taliban will walk in and take over again.

Not a fan of leading with stupid questions...but some of those claims are beyond common knowledge. Canada doesn't have access to the ocean??
What it demonstrates is how easy it is to convince Americans that lies are truths. That's the scary part.

I miss that segment on This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
I must admit that there are still some Australians who believe daylight saving provides an extra hour of sunlight and so ruins the curtains and drapes.
