Another Nostradamus wannabe who can see the future. "Globalnomics"?

C'mon man...half of that stuff is simple rational reasoning. It doesn't require a "Globalnomic", whatever that is, to claim that electric cars are a technological and illogical dead end, or that Bitcoin is a fad. Nor do you need a crystal ball to see the dominos lining up in the middle east. If Iran supplies a missile to Yemeni Houthis to fire at Saudi Arabia, I don't need an American crackpot to deduct that the shit may get real.

Remember this, Az...if it has an American accent, and claims it knows the future, just walk away slowly.

:001_rolleyes:

The guy has a good track record and while some of what he says may be obvious to some of us, he does bring good insights elsewhere, your xenophobia aside.

(And he didn't call crypto a fad. Get your bifocals checked out)

"Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, are not a long-term trend but a fraudulent fad"

Learn to read.

Everyone has a good track record of prediction by simply analysing events that unfold before our eyes. WW2 was predicted in the 1920's.

"Globalnomics"? WTF is THAT??

Jesus wept...everyone wants a headline by predicting our doom.

'Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, are not a long-term trend but a fraudulent fad. That's how establishment business media pundits and high-profile banking officials relentlessly label them. They were wrong in 2017, and our 2018 "Cryptomania Cash-In" trend will prove them wrong again'

You learn to read. It's as if you fell over yourself scanning the front page and not bothering to read the contents at all.

I plead guilty. I have no time for fraudsters.

How would you know if you didn't read it to begin with but still managed to assert fraud after you felt the compelling need to scan and misquote? Who is the fraudster again?

Making predictions is easy...  I can make two predictions right now:  BitCoin will go up, or it will go down.

ONE of these predictions, I can guarantee will come true.

Predicting the future doesn't work very well for most people.  If it did, we'd all be millionaires.

It's trends, not outright predictions.

Oh, and btc will be up and down.

I believe driverless technology will be fairly common..

I forget which car has driver assist parking?

If a driver cannot correctly park a car, what are they doing with a drivers licence?

The moment there is a fatal accident involving one or more driverless cars (and there will be), that fad will be over.

It puts all the liability on the manufacturer instead of the driver. That will stop it from being the norm.

What's wrong with automatic parking?

Up to 2012, automatic parking systems were being developed by several automobile manufacturers. Ford and Lincoln offered active park assist on Ford Focus, Fusion, Escape, Explorer and Flex and Lincoln MKS and MKT. Toyota and Lexus had advanced parking assistant on Toyota Prius V Five and Lexus LS460 and LS460 L. BMW all-new sixth-generation 3 Series used a system called parking assistant. Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz also offered parktronic on their C-Class, CLS-Class Coupe, M-Class SUV, E-Class, S-Class, GL350, GL450 SUV (standard on GL550) and R-Class in different prices.[15]

Jeep introduced an automatic parallel and perpendicular parking system, called ParkSense, on its 2014 Cherokee model.[16] Chrysler introduced an all new 2015 200 sedan, offering ParkSense as part of a SafetyTec package. [17]

In 2015, Bosch plans to release a fully automated parking system. This driverless system allows the driver to get out of the car and activate an autonomous parking from a smartphone. The system will calculate a parking maneuver and monitor the surroundings.[18] The parking assistant of BMW i3 can be activated from a smartwatch.[19]

China is IN African countries like the US hasn't for decades. China copied the old US after the US left trade behind and went for coups and wars.

China is on top of America's original game.

China is on top of America's original game.

And China doesn't tie trade to human rights like the West does either.

Yup. China is following old school American diplomacy and beating modern American diplomacy with it.

To what end?

Africa is a shambolic mess. Better nations than China have failed to modernise and civilise the place. The Africans are very good at milking other nations for charity...but appalling at governing.

Nor should they. Our inept pm wants to tie the renegotiation of NAFTA and a potential trade deal with China to climate change boondoggles, "aboriginal rights" and gender equality. Beijing told him to jump in the lake and so will Washington.

Yup!  I live close to one of the largest populations of Chinese, outside of China.  Vancouver/Richmond is about 50% Asian now, and my work involves driving amongst them.  Not a day goes by, when I wonder how some of them even passed the road test here.  Bribes, I'm guessing...

There was a Camry hybrid with out of state plates driving erratically and swaying between 3 lanes the other day. When I got around it, yup. Asian tourists. Car was filled to the top. Completely oblivious to themselves. I wanted to t bone them and push them into oncoming traffic. Stupid fuckers.

They looked darker than mainland chinese. Would have guessed Vietnamese or Laotian.

When I took my road test, the only demerit I received was for parallel parking (have to be a foot or less from the curb.  I was JUST over).

That shows just how hard the testers can be.  How this new wave of immigrant Chinese can even pass the test, is beyond me.

I personally know one Asian truck owner/operator (very rare here), and have worked with him in the past.  He's good.  But he's born here, so I don't know if that makes any difference...

He's a friendly fucking guy also.  We always wave at each other, even though we haven't worked a job together in years.
