BC's Chief medical Officer didn't want to be on the hot seat and ducked out of a meeting with the nurses of BC. The nurses have issues with mandatory immunization with the Flu Vaccine, sufficient to call a meeting with him. Its not a negotiable issue with BC now, its the law. Is this a fascist state or what! There are genuine concerns over the safety of this flu vaccine, how its made and what it contains other than the basic ingredient. More on the ingredients later but suffice to say this is a horror story of the first order, to say they might have the option of wearing masks is a smokescreen, they wont be given that in reality, all will have to be injected. This is terrible news for those who are dead against the vaccines on the market and strongly believe they are unsafe. These are nurses for god's sake people, they should know what they are talking about! Natural immunity is the safest method, has been and always will be. As northerners we need to get out of doors and into the sunlight more than our southern neighbors. Vitamin D, key to a healthy immune system is lacking in Canadians; get off out collective buts and take up outdoor activities, get away from the TV and yes the computer [ahem!] [cough], just a tickle in my throat mind..corrects posture and places a full stop.
I had MRSA couple of years ago a couple of times. It hurts. I have a very good immune system but it's not strong enough fro this bacteria. MRSA is attacking wild animals and birds now. They are really going to suffer. If MRSA becomes lethala dn spreads a little easier then we could be in for a real disaster.MRSA already kills about 18,000 Americans a year. This cannot be a nice way to go

History of aspirin[/b] ...WIKI [not the greatest testimony mind, but suffices here]
1923 Plant extracts, including willow bark and spiraea, of which salicylic acid was the active ingredient, had been known to help alleviate headaches, pains, and fevers since antiquity. The father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, who lived sometime between 460 BC and 377 BC, left historical records describing the use of powder made from the bark and leaves of the willow tree to help these symptoms.[160]
A French chemist, Charles Frederic Gerhardt, was the first to prepare acetylsalicylic acid in 1853. In the course of his work on the synthesis and properties of various acid anhydrides, he mixed acetyl chloride with a sodium salt of salicylic acid (sodium salicylate). A vigorous reaction ensued, and the resulting melt soon solidified.[161] Since no structural theory existed at that time, Gerhardt called the compound he obtained "salicylic-acetic anhydride" (wasserfreie Salicylsäure-Essigsäure). This preparation of aspirin ("salicylic-acetic anhydride") was one of the many reactions Gerhardt conducted for his paper on anhydrides and he did not pursue it further.
Advertisement for Aspirin, Heroin, Lycetol, and SalophenSix years later, in 1859, von Gilm obtained analytically pure acetylsalicylic acid (which he called acetylierte Salicylsäure, acetylated salicylic acid) by a reaction of salicylic acid and acetyl chloride.[162] In 1869, Schröder, Prinzhorn and Kraut repeated both Gerhardt's (from sodium salicylate) and von Gilm's (from salicylic acid) syntheses and concluded both reactions gave the same compound—acetylsalicylic acid. They were first to assign to it the correct structure with the acetyl group connected to the phenolic oxygen.[163]
In 1897, chemists working at Bayer AG produced a synthetically altered version of salicin, derived from the species Filipendula ulmaria (meadosweet), which caused less digestive upset than pure salicylic acid. The identity of the lead chemist on this project is a matter of controversy. Bayer states the work was done by Felix Hoffmann, but the Jewish chemist Arthur Eichengrün later claimed he was the lead investigator and records of his contribution were expunged under the Nazi regime.[164][165] The new drug, formally acetylsalicylic acid, was named Aspirin by Bayer AG after the old botanical name for meadowsweet, Spiraea ulmaria. By 1899, Bayer was selling it around the world.[166] The name Aspirin is derived from "acetyl" and Spirsäure, an old German name for salicylic acid.[167] The popularity of aspirin grew over the first half of the 20th century, spurred by its supposed effectiveness in the wake of the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918. However, recent research suggests the high death toll of the 1918 flu was partly due to aspirin, as the doses used at times can lead to toxicity, fluid in the lungs, and, in some cases, contribute to secondary bacterial infections and mortality.[168] Aspirin's profitability led to fierce competition and the proliferation of aspirin brands and products, especially after the American patent held by Bayer expired in 1917.[169][170]
The popularity of aspirin declined after the market releases of paracetamol (acetaminophen) in 1956 and ibuprofen in 1969.[171] In the 1960s and 1970s, John Vane and others discovered the basic mechanism of aspirin's effects, while clinical trials and other studies from the 1960s to the 1980s established aspirin's efficacy as an anticlotting agent that reduces the risk of clotting diseases.[172] Aspirin sales revived considerably in the last decades of the 20th century, and remain strong in the 21st century, because of its widespread use as a preventive treatment for heart attacks and strokes.[173]
Why isnt there clear and uneqivical clarity who the real scientist was involved at the time in
re-discovering this potent cure-all, the one that the ancients knew of and used!!!!

Did anyone rush out of the house screaming and pushing people out of the way to get in the front of the queue to get your seasonal flu shot? Were you proudly exclaiming, crowing that you got yours already. Well think again, you may have been given rotten crap, something else! A clotted white substance was found swimming in the serums in many batches from the drug company, Novartis.
Experts are saying they've seen this before and are assuring everyone that its safe, SAFE!!!???
When asked what it was they didn't know,,,but it's safe!
They are counting on you to be this stupid? Until they give the public an answer I don't think you need to rush down to your local and get shot up w/crap or would you.

•Two flu vaccines suspended pending review of particles floating inside
OTTAWA - Health Canada officials are still urging Canadians to get flu shot despite suspending two vaccines widely used across the country.
The federal agency pulled Agriflu and Fluad, manufactured in Italy by Novartis, after several European countries halted their use due to concerns over white floating material seen clumping inside.
The health agency said it has "rigourously reviewed" the two vaccines — which account for some 20% of Canada's supply — before authorizing them for use in Canada.
It also said clumping of the kind seen in Europe is common in vaccines.
But as a precaution, the agency said it has asked the drug maker to stop distributing the vaccines in Canada until a full review can be completed and recommended that health-care professionals stop using them in the meantime.
There have been no reports of serious or adverse affects with the vaccine, health officials said.
Paul Gully, a senior medical advisor with Health Canada, said Saturday the agency hopes to have cleared the vaccines for use by early next week to avoid too much disruption when it comes to Canadians having access to a flu shot.
On Friday, following Health Canada's announcement, Saskatchewan temporarily shut its public flu shot clinics because most of its stock is from Novartis.
P.E.I. and New Brunswick also almost exclusively depend on Fluad and Agriflu.
Gully said chief medical officers across Canada are looking at how long the suspension may last and how provinces can work together to fill supply gaps across jurisdictions in the case of a long interruption.
"Some provinces use 100% Novartis, some provinces use 80%, some provinces use 60%, and that's the challenge," Gully said, noting that the problem came to light as the flu vaccination season was ramping up, leaving provinces with little flexibility in their supplies.
In Ottawa, people lining up at the Holy Trinity Catholic High School for a shot were brushing off news of the two vaccine suspensions.
Among them was Penny Horeczy, who has faithfully gotten flu shots every season for more than a decade.
"It's a matter of numbers. I believe it strengthens my immune system," said Horeczy post-shot, who wasn't worried about the vaccine suspensions. "Everyone else has been sick and I've been able to avoid it. In this economy, who can afford to miss work?"

For tooth ache, keep a clove on the affected area.
Eat the powder of dried ginger and cumin with sugar for relief from cough.

INSTANT NOODLES
Dear instant noodle lovers,
Make sure you break for at least 3 days after one session of instant
noodles before you eat your next packet! Please read the info shared
to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than
5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax
is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles.
This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when
cooking.
If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the
market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are
oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.
Wanton noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to
prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles,
notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water
before cooking them in hot water again. This process is repeated
several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking
and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together.
The hawker then "lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the
noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry. Cooking
instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the
water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking
together. Othe rwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti!
There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time
of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles
everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax
in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to
2 days to clear the wax. There was also an SIA steward who after
moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook
but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has
since died from it.
Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as "cancer noodles".

Antioxidants
Drinking raw, unpasteurized honey can provide your body with an increased amount of protective, immune-boosting antioxidants. While all honey can provide benefits, unpasteurized honey retains greater healthful properties, according to the Manuka Honey USA website. A study performed by researchers at the University of California-Davis found that drinking 4 tbsp. of honey per day most likely increases the amount of antioxidants present in your blood stream. According to an article on the Medical News Today website, this UC-Davis study included 25 individuals who consumed 4 tbsp. of honey per day for 29 straight days. Each participant showed a distinct increase in the number of antioxidants circulating within their blood."

Grave's disease is considered an autoimmune disease which occurs due to overactive thyroid producing an excessive amount of thyroid hormones. This disease is caused to a serious metabolic imbalance in the body resulting in hyperthyroidism. In this sort of disorder antibodies circulate and thyroid stimulating immunoglobulins also known as TSIs stimulate thyrotropin receptors which cause thyroid glands to breed and thyroid follicles to upsurge the production of thyroid hormone. In other words Grave's disease is also known as autoimmune thyroid disorder which can further lead to dysfunction of multiple organs in the body. This is not really a life threatening disease but if not tackled in time it can definitely turn fatal.
How is it caused?
There are several reasons which can be accounted for origination and reaction of this disorder. It usually happens due to dysfunction in the body's disease-fighting immune system according to a detailed research. Hyperthyroidism is another major cause of this disease when excessive thyroid hormones are produced in the body. Variations in body temperature, body muscles and menstrual cycles play a very vital role in the occurrence of Grave's disease.http://www.naturalherbsclinic.com/Graves-Disease.php

Health Tips For Men
1. Eliminate "White Foods" from Your Diet. White flour, white sugar and other processed foods are not only devoid of vitamins and minerals, but they've also been stripped of their natural fibre. As a result, they rapidly drive up blood sugar levels, which contributes to weight gain, diabetes and a host of other health problems. Avoid breads and baked goods made with white flour, sugar-laden sodas and snack foods. Instead, focus on eating fibre-rich fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains.
2. Stay Away from Dangerous Trans Fats. While it's important to reduce your overall fat intake, it's even more important to watch the types of fat you eat. Deep-fried foods and anything made with hydrogenated oils (margarine, peanut butter, shortening, store-bought pastries and cookies) contain trans fats that raise your risk of heart disease. Eat only healthful fats, such as olive oil and the omega-3 oils found in salmon and other cold-water fish, which actually protect against heart disease.
3. Take a Potent Daily Multivitamin and Mineral Supplement. Although there is no substitute for a good diet, I am convinced that for optimal nutrition, you need to take a high-potency multivitamin and mineral supplement. Even if you are eating right, it's unlikely that your food contains all the nutrients you need. Poor soil quality, storage, processing and cooking deplete our food of vitamins and minerals. Taking a high quality daily supplement is "health insurance" against possible deficiencies.
4. Include Weight Training in Your Exercise Routine. Aerobic exercise is great for cardiovascular conditioning, but it's vastly inferior to weight training in attacking the "flab factor." Recent research has shown that as little as once-weekly resistance exercise can improve muscle strength. Even the busiest or laziest among us can find the time and energy for that. Join a gym, consult a personal trainer or ask an experienced friend to show you the ropes.
5. Maintain Your Optimal Weight. Current statistics suggest that half of us are losing the battle of the bulge, but maintaining a healthy weight is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You'll look better, feel better and reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and other major killers. I know this is easier said than done, but if you just follow the four steps above, you'll be well on your way.
6. Drink Alcohol Only in Moderation. You've probably heard of the "French Paradox," and that drinking wine protects against heart disease. Repeated studies have shown that drinking moderate amounts of alcohol (all kinds) protects not only against heart disease, but also lowers risk of death from all causes. Remember that moderation is key. While one to two drinks a day are protective, excess alcohol consumption is devastating to health. And for some, one drink is too many.
7. Protect Your Prostate. Around the age of 40, the prostate gland begins a growth spurt that results in symptoms such as frequent nighttime urination. The good news is that this condition, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, can be prevented or reversed by taking extracts of two herbs: saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) and pygeum (Pygeum africanum). Dozens of studies have shown that these herbs work in improving urinary flow without adverse side-effects. Suggested doses are 160 to 320 milligrams of saw palmetto and 40 to 80 mg of pygeum daily.
8. Reduce Your Risk of Prostate Cancer. Experts estimate that 80 per cent of all cancers can be prevented by making healthy lifestyle choices. Avoid saturated and trans fats, which may fuel prostate cancer growth, and incorporate protective foods, such as soy, green tea and tomatoes, into your diet. Soy contains isoflavones with specific anti-cancer activity. Green tea is rich in polyphenols that inhibit the formation of cancer-causing compounds and block the growth of prostate cancer cells. And tomatoes, particularly cooked tomato products, are an excellent source of lycopene, which is linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. In addition, make sure your daily nutritional supplement contains high doses of the antioxidant selenium (200 micrograms) and vitamin E (800 IU), which have been shown to dramatically lower the risk of prostate cancer.
9. Maintain Vigorous Sexual Function. Most cases of erectile dysfunction (impotence) have a physical cause: You're just not getting enough blood to the area in question. To improve overall circulation, follow the diet, exercise and supplement recommendations above. If you're taking drugs, review them with your doctor, as many can worsen erectile function and impair libido. Smoking also significantly impairs erectile function. Several herbs have been shown to improve sexual function. Ginkgo biloba increases blood flow to the dolphin, and Panax ginseng, oats, horny goat weed, maca and seroctin improve libido.
10. Maintain Close Relationships. Another thing women seem to do better than men is maintain close relationships. Make a point to strengthen ties with your family and friends. Volunteer work, religious ties, even petsâ€"anything that keeps you involved with others reduces stress and enhances health.

It says to go from thinking, "you are what you eat" to "you are when you eat."
The book called "The 8 Hour Diet" says you can eat almost anything you want within an 8-hour time span and some cheating is allowed. "I'm somebody who eats a lot of small meals," said Lake Oswego resident Claire McGuire, 53.
"I'm a believer in eating when I feel hungry," added Portland resident, Denise Dubois, 59.
"It's been over a year and one month, and I have walked 7 miles a day, everyday and that's all I do," said Portland Resident, Gloria Warner, 69.
Many people think about their diets for a huge portion of their days. What we're eating can consume our minds. So, what if you could eat anything you wanted?
The new book claims that people can effectively shed pounds by watching the clock. It works like this: You eat for eight hours a day and then fast for 16. For instance, you could eat from noon to 8 p.m., but then not again until noon the next day.
"I think over time, I've just figured out what works for me and what doesn't," said McGuire.
So could this idea work for you? The book's best-selling author said most people eat all day long and also stay up too late. This throws off the body's natural clock and makes people both unhealthy and overweight. He said the key is to confine our eating to eight hours daily in order to go back to the way that our bodies should be operating.
On this diet, many foods are suggested, but no foods are forbidden. You can eat whatever you want, as long as it's within that 8-hour time span.
Nutritionist Valerie Edwards, a Providence outpatient nutrition and eating disorder therapist, said she does not agree with the premise of the new diet book.
"It's not a sustainable way to eat," said Edwards. "The most important thing to look at when you're considering a diet change is to ask yourself, 'Is this going to help me to develop healthy eating habits that I can sustain over time?' Immediately I think that this diet does not fall into this category."
Edwards added that even though this diet could promote some short-term weight loss, "It can lead to having to think about food all the time and also can lead to mood swings because your blood sugar can be going up and down."
And if that's not convincing enough, "No diets. Diets are silly because they're just short term. [They say] 'Eat now, don't eat now,' said Warner, throwing her hands up in frustration.
"It has to come from within," said Dubois, "You can do all the reading you want, but if you're not willing to put the time in and the effort and by the way, there are some days believe me that I don't want to do this [she points to the track where she'd been running], but if you're not willing to do it, you can read all the books in the world, and it's not going to do you any good."
Still, the book's author and editor said the "8 Hour Diet" works because it gives the body more time to burn the calories that are consumed
