Nice...
Theres gonna be more sexual harassment cases..
I don't know... In Canada, some of the Hotels I've stayed at have an "inside" lock on the door, which would make it impossible to gain entry, unless you kicked the door in.
Of course, this "inside" lock can only be locked if someone is inside the room.
I've stayed in a few US hotel rooms, but I forget now if they had the "inside" lock...
Either way, the US typically jumps to these "fixes" after a big problem, like Vegas shooting. No surprise here. They think that it might prevent another shooting. They are wrong.

Why?
You're paying for privacy with a hotel room. If there is no guarantee of privacy, there's no point in forking over money to have your liberty crapped on.

Why is this a big deal? Went we went to Disney in October we were only in our hotel room to shower and sleep...only one day did we take a break and stay at the resort for the afternoon and go swimming and chill out. No problems whatsoever. The maids always left us cool folded animal towels and flowers. The locks are activated by your wrist band. I can't remember if there was an actual lock bolt on the inside. Another cool feature they had was, they took our big suitcase straight from the airport and delivered it to our room while we were out having dinner...there is a safe in the room to lock up all valuables...

And if you want to be naked or get frisky? Take a bath? Have a deep and meaningful? Sorry, tough luck. Might as well book a youth hostel.

They generally com in in the morning or early afternoon. Most people that go are families. I really can't see much time to get frisky while at Disney...too much to do in one day.

But this is quite common practice as long as I know, a lot of condos, dorm and hotels, security guards and care takers can always enter when there's an emergency. Though I'm sure they'd still knock and ask for permission first on regular occasions.

That's different..
The police or other emergency services can enter without warning if life is at risk.

They are not going to enter a room unless there it is an emergency situation. All hotels will honour DO NOT DISTURB signs.

Maybe at first. Years down the road who knows whether they have DHS agents posted at most hotels like they've tried to roll out anywhere else they could.
Look how the TPS went from mere airport security stooges to child and infirm molesters, thieves, and shoutdown bullies.
Think of the bigger picture.
Our cars are subject to random searches now.
Our personal effects are subject to random searches now.
Our homes have been semi subject to random search and seizures.
If those pricks get to random search our leased accommodation, our houses are fcked though with the IoT's we're inviting into our own homes, we're not exactly helping ourselves either.
We might as well call it what it is nearly become. A prison.

That's what I was thinking too, I mean it's not like they have anything to gain by offending their customers.

Even in countries with authoritarian governments that my husband has had to go to for work, they respected customers privacy in hotels.
So you think.

I agree too, imo every single business is programed to survive and can't afford to lose their customers. They might have the rights to do so, but the customers are always the boss of the business' boss.

It's not in the hotel's interests to compromise the privacy of their paying guests..
They have their credit cards on file if their is damage or charges when they check out.

I had a room attendant come into our room while I was getting dressed. I was harsh with her and told her to get the hell out. I felt terrible when I realized I forgot to put the Do Not Disturb sign on our door.

He or she might have done that, but like a mouse.
I don't know how this can be a problem? Door has lock that can only be engaged from inside...
If I leave? Well, most hotel patrons expect sheets to be changed, so I don't have to sleep in pissed up sheets.
I tip them very well for this.
If I am in room? Engage mechanical lock, which cannot be breached unless broken via Brute Force.
Have any of you actually spent any time in a room lately?

It's a nightly occurrence Velvet.
Obviously the Chinese are not familiar with Canadian hotel policies, and instead of learning how things work here, prefer instead to call me 'drunk white boy'.
This is fine, and EXACTLY what I expect from you fucking Chinks, so no new news here.
Gonna ban me, Fash? Vancouver is 50% Chink, so I know how you people do business... I work amongst your people every fucking day.
Keep hatin' on Whitey, you fucking Chinks... When the fix comes, maybe I won't feel so bad, if you catch my drift.
FUCKING DISGUSTING.
Little wonder certain groups of people tend to stick together, and FOREVER will.
And now you know EXACTLY how the Holocaust started.
Trust me... My Grandparents grew up in Nazi Germany, so I have first hand knowledge from them, in an unbiased fashion...
You know what that was, Fash? It was a huge fucking problem for everyone.
Now Mel's whining about Velvet....poor baby.
