But, that water was likely an extremely unusual event Berry..
During the great Southern Alberta flood, tap water in parts of Calgary was like that for a short time.

Best tap water in the world, 2017:
Village of Montpelier, OH's water came in first judged as the Best Municipal Water in the World.
Emporia, KS took second place while the City of Hamilton, OH won the bronze.
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California placed 4th and Independence, MO, 5th.

We never let Winnipeg water touch our lips without going through Brita first.

I'm lucky here...  Greater Vancouver water supply is pretty decent.  Maybe not best in the world, but certainly up there...

I can imagine Winnipeg water is pure native piss.  Brita is useless.

				Too many Indians in win-a-pig...

We use a countertop water filter which is fitted into the faucet for drinking water.

No need to filter my water!

I drink from the tap.  It's fine.  I never drink bottled water, it tastes sandy and stale.

I can't stand chlorine tastes in my water.

I buy bottled water, but that's mostly to take with me to work in the summer...

Mine has no chlorine tastes...but maybe ad a lemon slice to your water.
Mostly in spring and summer, I keep berry filled water in the fridge...it's very yummy.

The filter removes it and other contaminants.

I've used filters before...mostly it was the men I was dating that used it, bunch of weirdos....I see no difference.

Ours is mildly chlorinated, but not too bad.  Chlorine should evaporate very quickly when water is exposed to air...

Those Brita filters are a joke.

That is true.  I let water sit in buckets for a few days so all the chlorine evaporates when I do a water change in my fish tank.

Thats what im sayin.  Theyre bullshit and over priced.

Ya, apparently Chlorine should off-gas within 24 hours.  Chloramine, on the other hand, is different...

I've seen something like that before..
My husband gets the 18.9 litre jugs of water from work.

I have a well on my farm.

The drinking water here is pumped from springs..
Water fit for kings...
The saudis buy our water.

Except Odi can only drink his in a sippy cup.  :001_tongue:

My water is on a community well, its fed off a spring. The thing that sucks, they dump WAY too much chlorine in it. If I boil water, there is a white residue in the pot from it. I can smell it when I shower, and it dries my skin out. I dont drink it. I buy Deer Park jugs and bottles to cook with and drink. The Deer Park North America one is suppose to be one of the last ones that dont use fluoride. Fluoride is bad too, and its added to the city water. Would like to eventually get a reverse osmosis system added to filter out all the crap in my water.

I thought well water was superior. It probably is if not communal.

Yeah would be if not for that. Spring water is normally the best. I know when I go up on the mountain and drink some I come back feeling like a new man lol. Of course Im away from civilization when I do too for a few days lol.

I always take empty jugs to the trails and fill them with spring water.

We've got to boil or filter our water when camping.
Unless it rains and the tarps are clean.

Going off topic for a sec here, Sydney, NSW was 47.3 degrees today. They broke a record set in 1939.

I've never been there or any other place in Australia, but I've seen so much of it from travel shows, podcasts and so on that I feel like I have..
I liked what I was shown, but it's too big.

Sydney is where one goes or stays if they have a great job doing nothing of merit, or no job at all. Melbourne is the heart of our nation. Sydney is a pube.

I read that. When Toronto gets days above thirty degrees in the summer there are smog advisories and elderly people are told to stay inside near fans or ac. Toronto would come to a dead stop if they had one day of forty degrees.

Damn that sucks. I'll be honest, I filter mine just in case. But that water looks so clean where I go camping, and it comes right out of the mountain, so you prolly could drink it straight. Never know if a bear had shat upstream or not

Some of our mountain streams might be ok to drink from, and supplies in the deep interior but as you mentioned, why risk it.
If we're remote we boil.
Semi remote, we ceramic filter then uv it.

I love cooking with that water, and nothing like crawling out of your tent on a cold morning with woods and sunshine, firing up the campfire, and having a nice cup of coffee/tea while enjoying the surroundings of nature and no fucking people lol.

Nothing like baking out in nature, I used to love roaming threw the woods with a 40oz , sac O weed w papers and mixer(in tupperware) , pack of hot dogs and Jerky, flashlight, lighter, strike anywhere waterproof matches and a can of hair spray oh and plenty of garbage bags w a water proof bonding agent(crazy glue is good in a pinch and it fuses the bags) .. Take it off road and get lost for awhile ..

Damn, a lot of that I take too lol.
I almost laughed at the hair spray one, imagining you with volume in your hair, then realized what the hair spray was actually for lol.
