Title: Alright, CC! As a gesture of kindness...
Post by: Angry White Male on January 20, 2018, 08:20:09 PM
...I will buy you two tickets to Nearly Neil, who is a tribute to your favourite Jewish performer Neil Diamond.  Unfortunately he's off to do a tour in Australia here shortly, but I'm sure he'll have some local dates around Van once he returns.

https://www.nearlyneil.com/

I buy you two tickets, so you and your husband can have an enjoyable night out.  Perhaps Nearly Neil can be the spark that re-ignites your long-dead marriage.

No need to thank me, since I'm generous by nature.

I'm pretty sure Mr and Mrs CCstein are touring all the German *COUGH* 'Death' camps for the next month or so and raising shekels for Israel, so I doubt she'll be able to take you up on your generous offer.  :laugh3:

On the other hand, come back to the homeland and see Neil in person.

I, sadly, won't be there...not my cuppa...

I did mention he'd be touring Australia for a bit, so she'd have to wait for him to get back.

Naw. I only do originals ... AND only when they are "on their game"

Neil lost it some time back. Saw him in a CBC show from Toronto a few years ago and he no longer had it ... not even close .. I felt so sad I had to stop watching

It's OK, I still love him ... he was good .. when he was good

Not strong like Jews ... Cohen was still strong at an age 20 years older than when Neil lost it, and all lesser humans lose it  :icon_wink:

He just couldn't tap into enough of that Jew Strength...

Then again, not everyone can perform the same as they could at 30 or so, when they're 70.  Getting old just happens, even to the Jews.

Aw, but he did " tap into" it. You didn't read what I wrote

I'm talking about Diamond!  You do know he was a Jew, right?

I'll take 'performers that CC didn't know were Jewish' for 800, Alex...

You would always win on that

I usually don't keep think about what people are. It would take something obvious like "Cohen" to make me even think of background

Seems you sure make a point to  keep track  ... and that specific one would not be of any interest to you,

yet you knew??

Heritage interests me.  It's why I spent money on a DNA test.
Title: Re: Alright, CC! As a gesture of kindness...
Post by: cc on January 21, 2018, 02:25:08 AM
Au contraire. That would have been for YOUR heritage.

That has nothing to do with others .. but you sure do keep track of jews

I am not as biased as you think, CC.  I like to compile data for my brain.  I have big time ADD, and this is how we can be at times.

Just like I know that George Lucas was NOT a Jew, but went on to become a very successful Hollywood producer.

I see. That makes considerable  sense

Knowing true facts about people, and what they do, helps me to form my own opinion of people, race, religion, etc.

I don't much care for the crap the mainstream media pushes into my eyes and ears.  I prefer instead to do my own research on people and things.  And part of that research often includes the ancestry of people, which oddly enough I remember without even having to try...
Title: Re: Alright, CC! As a gesture of kindness...
Post by: cc on January 21, 2018, 02:39:24 AM
While I never think about people's heritage unless they make a thing of it, from what you said I understand why you would do so

We all have our own "things" that matter to us .. for me it's all about ideologies .... and personal character .... most other items are mere passing interest to me

Neil Diamond had one...ONE...hit record that was a live "Greatest Hits" from 1972.

And that was chiefly because it was probably the first example of a major production of a live performance, recorded capturing the magic and excitement of one (actually it was over a number of nights) concert that clicked.

It set an example and raised the bar of live performances forever, and for that he should be lauded. For his  music, not so much.

Appreciation of types of music is always personal to each individual.

Fame etc. says nothing about anyone's actual talent ... especially when most of the world is tone deaf and rhythm stunted

Well, This ain't good

Neil Diamond announces retirement from touring, Parkinson's diagnosis (//http)

Diamond released a statement on his official website announcing the diagnosis. Sadly for fans, this means that the third leg of his 50th anniversary tour has been canceled.

Mate's good friend, an older gent we had become friends with, we made a website for had it - We did a 60 + page site of his writings  and tips on "living alone with

parkinsons"

he had the slow kind and  survived 25 years with it - A very ugly illness - -  a very ugly ending

Sure - make it about you and your worthless ego. You can't stop yourself

Moving forward, the gent we met outlived almost everyone with it ... 25 years is almost unheard of.

He immediately went into "study mode" and learned the things to do and eat etc .. .drugs to use, drugs to not use, exercises, vitamins etc etc  and survived all on his own

He had been writing for years to share what he leaned for others but had no may to get it out there

Mate got to know him, a fellow condo tenant ... I proof read / edited all his work and did art work for it. Mate made a site for him and made it prominent ... one of the most rewarding things we have done

After he died mate tried to get someone with the illness to expand on it but never found a taker. We shut it down a couple of years ago

At this time we are regretting not trying harder to keep it going and expand it further

No, it's my thread about Nearly Neil, and Neil Diamond, which you two chose to post in.

I welcome posts.  I even welcome BrickTop shitting up my threads, since I have no choice in the matter.

So yes, in my threads, I can make it about me, Neil, Parkinsons, and mental and physical issues.

Just like you can make your threads solely about Muslims, CC.  And I don't often even bother to post in them, as my presence may somehow offend you.

I speak the truth.  That's why people dislike me.  I speak the truth, and will not align myself with any posters, cliques, nor any political or racial associations, for the most part.

I do what many posters are unable to stop themselves from doing.  It's a sign of personal strength.  I roll solo...  One man wolf pack.

I'll post what I want where I want when it fits, and thanks to your topic content it fits  purrrrfectly

Back to the topic at hand...  These are bad diseases/inflictions, what have you.

I've spent a lot of time in complex care facilities, and the body and mind don't often grow 'old' at the same time.

I think it's worse if the body gives up before the mind does.  Yes, assisted suicide may be on the way, but I cannot fault a guy for running a .357 Magnum round through his brain, should he be diagnosed with one of these incurable shit diseases.
