21 years ago today, in isle #2 at Safeway, I got down on one knee, and proposed to the woman I love. She said YES!, and we were wed later that Summer! :yahoo:
21 years ago we were celebrating our son's 21st birthday....
Probably at the military firing range.
Backpacking around the world and having fun.
It was a Wednesday so I would have been working selling steel.

Where did you travel to? How long was the journey? How big of a group?
full on club/party mode , I used to sell the hallucinogens(LSD&Mushrooms)
I was working as a waitress and taking an administrative assistant program at a community college.

8 months solo throughout the Americas and parts of Europe and northern Africa but I did meet up with others from time to time.

Did you enjoy waitressing? Were their decent tips?

I worked in a small family owned Chinese restaurant..
When it was slow, I had other duties besides waiting tables..
Most of the customers were fine, but some weren't..
The tips were good on weekends, I often made more money than the owners then..
Which is why I sympathize with owners who are forced to pay much higher minimum wages.
Twenty one years ago I was in my final semester at university.
February 1997 I was working in Libya.
Fuck you people are old...

OK...I have to ask...
Why a supermarket?
Hardly a romantic location in which to pop the question?

But combining the two?

I'm sure Superchecker has a reason why he chose Safeway to pop the question and I look forward to reading it.
I was in grade 7. My teacher said I was sweeter than fucking sugar.

I was originally waiting for Valentines Day to propose, but something came over me in Safeway/in the moment, I just had to do it there and then!

You are a spontaneous guy SC.
I was in rebel mode....I think I may have dropped out of my gr.12 that year and was working and partying...one more year before I moved out to the koots.
Where did ya go to school?
In the tri cities.
Lots of construction there now. Worked a couple jobs there recently. Cannot fucking keep up...
Yes there is lots. A lot of high rises, it's getting stupid....none of them were here when I was a teenager. The streets are bloody congested with cars...parked everywhere......my neighborrod is very compact with limited parking...there was a Mercedes taking up all the room not too long ago...after a few days It hadn't moved, sure enough it was uninsured...they got a write up on their windshield to move or they will get towed....they still didn't so it got egged....then they moved it. I hate it when people let their friends park their uninsured cars in my hood.
I can't stand the number of third world immigrants parking their extended families in our small sleepy village. The property values have skyrocketed because they pool their money and use mass transit in order to buy at any asking price, which doesn't bode well for the children of the locals who can't afford to buy or rent in the area anymore. It's gentrification.
Yep. Watch your trash cans..sometimes they have so much garbage, they try to put it on their neighbors garbage...you can only put out so much or else you'll get tagged and charged.
I knew a few guys who were garbage men and they hated it...the immigrants would leave all their fish and animal caresses and just shit in the cans in the summer...so it would be rotting and filled up with juice...sometimes would yuck kick the can and leave it there, let the juice run all over their driveway...

I see them up to 12 thick waiting at bus stops with a bench only big enough to fit 4 bums on it. The area wasn't designed for that kind of influx. They'll pay 20% more than the estimated value of a place here. It's fcking crazy. People are selling up and moving further out now with those kind of prices. 3 bedroom weatherboard homes from the 60's are going for 500-800k regardless of condition or quality.
I wish they'd just fck off. Invasions just don't happen on beaches in wars.
