You probably won't hear about this school shooting, because for the most part it didn't happen. Because the school rescource officer, unlike Scot Peterson the resource officer in Florida, did his job
The school shooting was over in seconds. But it could have dragged on longer and proven deadlier were it not for the rapid response of a school resource officer.
When a 17-year-old gunman walked into Maryland's Great Mills High School on Tuesday, the swift action of the school's sole resource officer, Blaine Gaskill, was instrumental in bringing the incident to a quick end.
Gaskill's response was hailed as an example of exactly what a resource officer is supposed to do in such a circumstance, particularly when contrasted to the actions of the security officer in last month's shooting in Parkland, Florida. (In the incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, the armed school resource deputy waited outside the school building as the shooter gunned down students inside.)
"He responded exactly how we train our personnel to respond," St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron told reporters.
Gaskill responded to the scene in less than a minute, the sheriff said.
As soon as the gunfire began, Gaskill rushed to the scene. He fired a round at the shooter, who also fired a round at the same time, Cameron said.
It's not yet clear whether the shooter, Austin Wyatt Rollins, was felled by the officer's bullet or killed himself.
Cameron said the entire incident took less than a minute, possibly seconds.
The 16-year-old female student is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, and the 14-year-old male student who was shot is in stable condition.
Gaskill was unharmed.[/quote]
I heard about it on the radio this morning.
Man, these "gun safe zones" are becoming target practice.
I read a headline about this, but no details. Good job Blaine Gaskill.
I love how you twist that story.
ANOTHER school shooting carried out by a kid with a gun.
But you don't need gun controls?
The fact that the school guard was able to shoot the alleged offender is immaterial. America has a chronic, serious and fatal relationship with firearms, yet remains in utter denial.

Exactly. I remember Brocktop putting me down, when I stated that the Florida shooter potentially could have been put down by the armed officer on duty at the time.
Brocktop lost his shit, and got mad at me for even thinking that saving lives is part of a cops job.
Now Brocktop is angry because a Cop actually did what needed to be done. That cop should be promoted, as he handled the situation as it should have been handled.
Brocktop can continue to suck down SSRI's, and suck Fash's dick for extra pleasure, but the facts are clear.

hmm. rather vague.... not sure exactly what you're calling 'bullshit' on so i'll bust it up and address it....
1. i guess 'every time i turn around' is an exaggeration of sorts BUT guns are indeed on the top 10 list of conversations here.... and new 'gun laws and proposals' are a daily discussion....
2. as i am fully aware, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. i do not depend on law enforcement to defend me. i am perfectly capable of defending myself.... up until recently, i didn't even have local law enforcement to call.... at best, a sheriff would show up within 24 hours of a call. we had a murder in a parking lot and the body was there 12 hours before any officials arrived.... i do not consider 'everyone hand over your guns' to be a safe, intelligent or even a credible idea.... if anything, ALL PPL should be armed and licensed to carry. even the most deranged lunatics will think twice about firing off random shots when surrounded by casual observers that can potentially gun him down. and if you like statistics, heres one for you - 100% OF PPL WHO ARE KILLED WHILE COMMITTING A CRIME NEVER COMMIT ANOTHER CRIME.... EVER.... FACT.... thats a 100% reform rate.... highly more effective than incarceration.... wouldn't you agree?
3. i have around 2,500 shotguns shells in an oak hope chest. i have 10 shotguns as well.... they are located throughout my house and my car.... and about 1/3 of the time, i have one on my person.... i do not believe 'life is sacred' and i would gun a man down in front of jesus and his own mother, if i felt i had a reason....
so.... yeah.... all pretty accurate.... not a high level of 'bullshit'....

Yep see drug laws worked, nobody has illegal drugs, right? Oh wait....
If you outlaw all guns tomorrow in the US and made people turn them in. most wouldn't. The criminals especially, would keep theirs.
If the authorities went house to house searching for guns. they would have to thoroughly search 126 million households. Not even remotely possible.

fear? fear has nothing to do with it.... do you mean the amount of guns? i'm a hunter.... my family has meat on the table when other folks are just trying to keep their electricity turned on.... i have guns for birds, guns for small game, guns for gators, guns for boar and deer, guns for skeet, a gun with a flashlight for night investigation and a small sawed off under the seat of my car in case i see a deer while driving.... i lead a rich and satisfying life. i'm not hindered by fear or anxiety.... and when weird shit happens, i'm not 'scrambling for the phone'. i get up and go see what it is.... and if i happen to have a gun in my hand, i'm certain that whatever the situation, i'm set to handle it.... no, partner.... no fear on my end.... just independence and security....

Handguns are used in about two-thirds of firearms murders in Canada, yet almost none of the homicide handguns are legally owned. Even the Liberals recognized a ban would do nothing for public safety.
Their bill will, however, make banning individual models and classes of guns easier by making bans possible without recourse to Parliament.
The bill doesn't set up a new registry (good). But it does require records of gun sales to be kept by sellers for 20 years (a sort of de facto registry).
Plus, it will also make transporting a gun to target shoot or hunt more bureaucratic. And it will likely and eventually require owners to put Un-approved codes on their firearms.
The Libs' bill places even more burden, expense and inconvenience on law-abiding gun owners, while likely doing very little to discourage gun crime.
And that, too, will be more keenly felt in rural Canada where more people hunt and use guns to control predators and vermin on farms and ranches.
What is the difference between a "legally" and "illegally" owned firearm?
Quote from: "seoulbro"
Plus, it will also make transporting a gun to target shoot or hunt more bureaucratic.
This is not true.
If the proposed changes go through, there will only be transport changes to restricted and prohibited firearms (read: handguns).
Hunting long-guns have never really been regulated much in the way of how they can be transported, but handguns are. And you cannot hunt with handguns here.
So, what they propose is leaving the Authority to Transport regs alone in the way of automatically making it a condition that allows you to go to gun range. What they want to change is making an owner request an ATT to take gun to gunsmith, as well as a few other places.
They are doing this because the odd idiot was driving around with his handgun, claiming he was on his way to whatever gunsmith, when he probably wasn't.
Bear in mind that these changes are still not as bad as things used to be here. Before, you'd have to request ATT for ANY movement of handgun. Essentially they are trying to slowly change the rules back to how they once were.
Also remember, that these changes are just proposals at this time. They will probably pass, but they have not yet been implemented. Honestly, these changes really do not affect me much at all, even though I own handgun.
However, it's really all moot anyhow, since handguns must legally be transported in a trunk (if your vehicle has one), and no officer can demand to know the contents of your trunk unless you are engaged in criminal activities.
My entire life I have never been asked the contents of my trunk, or asked to open my trunk. Only Canadian/US Customs has the right to sift through your shit.
Long guns have no transport restrictions, other than they must be kept unloaded while in transport.
I had a 30.30 Winchester levergun riding beside me in the cab of my pickup while cruising up a dirt road to do some shooting. A conservation officer had set up a roadblock to check for illegal poaching.
He saw the rifle, and pleasantly asked me if he may inspect chamber to make sure gun empty. I complied, he was happy, and I was on my way. So that they may check, but they only knew I had firearm because it was sitting right beside me!
To be honest I have to agree with Bricktop on this issue with guns in the US, and I believe there are still stats out there that registered guns kills more innocents every year than unregistered firearms. I need to dig this up and wouldn't be surprised that gun manufacturers are paying good money to supress the truth. For now iirc over 80% of mass shootings are done by registered firearms.

In Canada, most handgun crimes use illegal revolvers.
I don't believe the US has any kind of registry system, and Canada only registers handguns. Long guns are not registered here since Harper discontinued it (with the exception of Quebec. I think they kept some form of registry for themselves).

I meant to say the US, though I assume Canada is a lot different. But at least I can sleep well at night thanks to the strict guns laws here. Even it's much harder for a criminal or just anyone to acquire a illegal firearm, and witness this from a primary source(my brother's friend has been arrested the next day in highschool after being paid to smuggle a unregistered firearm).
Let's be honest about most US handgun crime stats... The numbers would probably be pretty low if you took the Ghetto Negro equation out of the calculations. Those Ghetto Jigs are shooting each other left, right and center!

Do you mean most of the killers of registered firearms are done by Blacks? I'm not too familiar with the situation in the US atm, nor even sure does gun control exist just to force civilians to register their firearms or completely ban all guns at once. ac_unsure
Edit: Ugh made a careless typo, "are" is supposed to be "or"
I'm not completely familiar with the US system, but they don't have a registry system for handguns like we do, as far as I know.
However, I believe that convicted felons aren't permitted to own handguns in the US, so obviously most Ghetto Jigs are automatically in illegal possession of a gun.
Understand also, that carrying a handgun on person in the US does vary from State to State also, and there are some permits involved in doing this, at least in some States.
In the US, I think you fill out a form when you buy a gun from store, and this is how they do a background check. I can assume most Ghetto Jigs do not purchase handguns in this fashion.
I was thinking of almost the same thing too, and to be honest I fail to see any issue with the registration of handguns, considering like Blazor has mentioned the fact that martial artist with a degree of black belt or a higher dan already need to registered themselves, and same for professional boxers with their fists.
I'll be honest here though... If someone wants to cause maximum damage, a handgun would be the last type of firearm one would want. Handguns are actually pretty inefficient at causing mass casualties.
A semi-auto rifle of some sort would be the preferred weapon.

I need to find out more about this issue first, but my biggest concern is if everyone has guns, then what about the police? And have people consider police brutality will continue to exist as long as the public keep wanting to own firearms. In Canada and the rest of the world the police never have to resort aggressive measures, while the US keeps going down this vicious cycle of ignorance and violence. But if I get to choose, I rather hope the US will adopt Canadian gun laws for the greater good.

Twenty-nine per cent of Canadian homes possess an estimated total of nine million firearms. Other authorities insist that even this figure is too low, and that there is at least twenty million firearms in Canada. The UN reported that Canada ranks third among the developed western countries (behind the United States and Norway) in the civilian ownership of firearms.
I'm convinced there is a fundamental flaw in the American culture that venerates violence.
Combine that cultural addiction with open slather on gun ownership, and its a recipe for the disaster that's unfolding. I think trying to compare other countries to the unique character of the US is a waste of time.

I wouldn't be surprised, but we have a strict and well enforced law to keep everyone safe and sound, in Toronto if people want take their guns to test out in the firing range they first must contact the local police and tell them the route they're going to take.
Your figures sounds about right considering a fair number of Canadians live in the country side and owning a gun is quite the norms, but us city folks don't need a gun as long as we live in a area with a number of people that can act as witnesses and camera surveillance in most places running 24/7.

I need to find out more about this issue first, but my biggest concern is if everyone has guns, then what about your police?

I can't own restricted firearms, but I have a non restricted PAL. I have a 22, a 12 gauge and a 270. If there was a problem on my farm with armed intruders it could take the cops up to an hour to get there. I would not hesitate for a second to use them.
Actually, you probably could own restricted Herman, if you do so now under the current laws, before they change them back again.
I should clarify... I have Restricted endorsement for like 15+ years now, so any changes don't apply to me, as I obtained that in my early 20's.
They used to only be able to go back like 5 years, with background checks. The new changes tabled would allow them to go back to when you turned 18.
So, if you're 'clean' for the last five years, and don't have massive Criminal Code problems, or mental health problems in the last five years, you could get your application in now and it would most likely be approved.
That being said, if you have no desire to own handguns, it makes no difference to you then. Once the new regs are implemented (which they probably will be), they will now sniff into your shit from adulthood onwards...
NOW is the time to think about that, should you desire!

Witnesses and surveillance footage doesn't bring the innocent back to life. I don't believe for an instance that you think life is expendable, so why make life expendable to suit public fears and government wishes?

Tbh a gun doesn't make me feel safer, in fact it only escalates the situation leading to exchange of fire, if someone tries to rob me, I'd just rather give them the money than risk getting myself killed, or if they ever come up close and you have experience in martial arts, you can easiliy disable them with surprise, and I can tell you it's very very effective, even better than using a gun.

But Dinky the police are there to patrol the streets and enforce the law against potentially dangerous suspects, a gun to a police is a tool more than a weapon. But imo if a civilian is so frightened they must own a gun when they don't really need it in the first place, it's considered as a weapon.
If people are that obsessed with guns, then they're free to contribute something to the society, simply by becoming a member of the disciplinary force. I strongly agree with the saying -With great power comes great responsibility- Simply join the police force and contribute something, so people can feel safer, while in reality no one would ever feel safe if every single civilian was walking around the place with a gun in their pocket, mainly for the sake of their interest, even vigilantes are just amateurs, despite some might have good intent, still have loads of problems and issue.

No, that's correct. The shooters are permitted by America's inane law to own a firearm.
Why?
Why does a nice, intelligent and altruistic guy like Wazzup, for example, want a firearm.
Whackjobs like Mel and Renee I get. Guns make them feel invincible because they despise themselves.
'Thanks Brick. I bought a gun just after the LA riots. I live not too far from a bad area of chicago. If riots go down here and they start moving my way I will need it. Thats most of the reason I own a gun and probably wouldn't otherwise.
I know blazor and Deadskin own guns, maybe its a stereotype, but rural southerners often learn to hunt when they are young, so guns are often part of their lives from an early age.
For the most part the people that kill with guns in America are inner city blacks (5 to 10 times the white rate) and some Hispanics (2 to 3 times the white rate)
if your aborigine population were 4 to 5 times higher, you would most likely see the same result.

I took a hunter gun safety course in 7th grade in school. Wish they still offered this in school, as it teaches gun safety. These days, its not offered in schools, and my son went through a safety course outside of school.
I was a bastard growing up (no father figure), and didnt get to get my first rifle til I got a job when I was older. I wish I could've started hunting much sooner.

How?
They cannot easily get hold of a firearm. Even with their small population relative to whites, aboriginals are rarely involved in gun deaths.
Most aborigines are very placid and timid...until they either get loaded on white man's poison, or some radicals get in their ears.
I get the racial inference...so why not give all blacks and hispanics free access to guns and solve the racial problem?
The reality is that their violence spills into white communities. That's why people like you buy a handgun.

Australian Aborigines still commit hiuge amount of violent crime, including murder, even though its not usually with guns. But because they are such a small portion of Australia they don't affect the overall numbers that much. Blacks are 13% of America and Hispanics 18% having a much stronger effect on US violent crime and murder rates.

Im not gonna lie, I HATE the new Jeeps. At the Jeep forum Im on, us TJ'ers do not like the newer JKs, less reliable, harder to work on, bigger, etc. The worst part, the even newer JL's debuted this year, and they are even worse in my opinion, way too big and fancy to be a Jeep. They need to give us a mini Jeep, kinda like the old Rocky by Daihatsu, or the Samurai. Put a turbo 4 banger in it. I'd be happy with that.

:001_rolleyes: the 'but who will build the roads and who will police them' plea is a modern version of the same old Salem Witch Hunt psychosis and why it's a self perpetuating prognosis in this modern age which can't get past a handful of centuries where top down pretend liberal nations use ruse and the barbarity of Democracy to make us less wealthy, less safe, and above all, hardly free at all.
Lol but if it wasn't for the police, then who's stopping me from kicking the butts of all you police hating crybabies? And again you're dodging my point with sophisticated English without backing anything up. Lol name me a developed nation where there's no police, where people do their own street justice without leading to false accusation or taking the law into their own hands and is safe to live in. I don't understand why you prefer to enjoy capitalism or close to anarchy states without the presence of law enforcers, just seems like recipe for the ultimate disaster.
Dinky is no diiferent than every other cop hating hypocrite. He'd call the cops if someone broke into his house and robbed him.

I dun think Brick is talking about exposing a person's ID, but believe in some transparency in the society, which is one thing I dislike about the internet b/c everyone is behind a mask, including myself. I mean if we have a worker that keeps talking behind the backs of us business owners and waits patiently for us to give him his paycheck every week, IMO that worker doesn't deserve to work for us.

I believe there's nothing wrong with having more transparency online, since the internet has been strongly abused for it's main advantages. As long as you're not forced to tell everyone about your family members, home address, stuff like bank info, etc, I never see how a public all age forum should be something considered as personal.
I heard from my Korean friends some games now force players to use their real names as online ID due to too much trolling in the lobby and other events. Though I'm not saying to dox Dinky, but just saying he kinda "deserves" it, lol.

Racial profiling is a fact of life in law enforcement. Regardless of how much training or what the laws/policy's are it still goes on. Blacks are profiled the worst with Hispanics right behind them. Not only that it is not just the white cops that do it, it's all of them.

Everyone profiles racially, not just the cops.
It's easy to see why people do this... Go into a Negroid Ghetto, spend some time there, and come back to me with results! Then go into Chinatown, spend some time there, and come back with results!
You see, people profile due to what they see and observe, and there is nothing wrong in doing so. The Nigger ghetto would not be a safe place, while Chinatown would probably be a relatively safe place. This is FACT!
Thus, we can come to the conclusion that it's easier to be relaxed around Asians than it is to be relaxed around your typical ghetto Negroid.

I regularly refuse to eat near cops and make it a point to show my disgust. Also with fundraiser tables staffed by cops where I inform if solicited for a donation that I don't contribute to street gangs, thieves, or tribal cults.
Rumour has it that Bricktop not only endorsed 'poofter bashing' in the late 1970's Australia, but he was actually one of the officers that joined in to administer the beatings while in uniform, yelling "Death to Poofters!"

But it's the best solution if the public wants crime to be ended swiftly, Whites are known for e-crime, money laundering, white collar crimes, Asians for prostitution/massage parlours, underground gambling, Hispanics for human and drug trafficking, Blacks for robbery, violent crime, etc. Every races gets targeted according to the type of crime they commit, things will only be very inefficient if our police use the a liberal method of crime solving.

Seriously Dinky you should go see a doctor, they can really help reduce your fear and paranoia of cops and your constant thinking and babbling with your ass issues.
Ironic you call for a doctor when you're the delusional cop worshipper. You need a deprogrammer well versed in top down cults.

And it's also ironic you like to shoot out of rear end by labeling disciplinary forces as pigs when the fact remains people that have no moral to respect and abide by the law are the real animals. Anyways keep projecting yourself on the police, we all know who truly is the pig in this forum. :001_rolleyes:

He IS a doctor!!!
That's why he goes to such lengths to conceal his true identity.
He might lose patients.
He also has a castle in the Swiss Alps.

Bitter? Not at all. Authority over me? No way.

Bricktop couldn't be any more fine, I'm just more concerned about your butthurtness with the local police.
I wouldn't take him too seriously, Zetsu.

You're right again Bricktop, but I gotta admit it's just so much fun throwing his crap back in his face. Despite his trolling intent Dinky does offer a bit of entertainment purposes and helps ease my boredom, lol.
Well, he's been entertaining folks with his inanity for years.
The only thing is...he doesn't realise it.

Are you two cop cult lackeys still playing prozac pat-o-cake in your best sleepover onesies?

I thot you'd keep it confidential. Now everyone knows
Everybody knows everything about me anyway. Ask Mel, or Dinky.
Australia leads the way. After we removed certain firearms from out community in 1996:
//http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20180417-what-would-happen-if-all-guns-disappeared
""The result of that was the risk of dying by gunshot in Australia statistically reduced by more than 50%, and in the past 22 years has shown no sign of creeping up again," says Philip Alpers, an adjunct associate professor at the Sydney School of Public Health."
"As in Australia, real-world evidence from the US also shows that fewer guns result in fewer deaths and injuries. A 2017 study revealed that firearm homicide rates are lower in US states with stricter gun laws, while a 2014 analysis of all inpatient minors admitted to hospitals for trauma linked tighter firearm control to greater safety for children."
