300,000 Australians had their data used without their permission. I suspect Facebook is about to hit a massive wall.

The tech sector lead the bull market and it could lead to a bear market. The start of a bear market usually portends weakness in the overall economy six months down the road.

If the S&P 500 drops below 2600 there will likely be economic clouds on the horizon. As I said, Facebook will have a ripple effect across the tech spectrum. Keep that in mind.

We are the owners. That's what stocks are, ownership. The more you own, the greater the potential gain. But, also risk. Unionized teachers, cops, steelworkers, and even socialist xenophobic train engineers are able to provide sustainable defined benefit pensions for their due paying members thanks to the market place. It's a win win arrangement.

I don't think that's the issue. My gripe is the way investors get paid AFTER the CEO's, Directors and others get massive payouts.



And many of this corporate "profits" come from "downsizing" and "automation".



Soon, there will be no investors, because there will be no middle class workforce.

Yeah, but I see his point too. Corporate profits are essential to retirement investments. If there was no investment, the taxpayer would have to pay ALL pensions, and that wouldn't fly. I just get annoyed at CEO's getting paid 16 million a year (QANTAS - Australian airline) while workers are laid off and jobs are sent overseas, just because the "profit" went up.



Profit is perfectly OK, but with a social and moral aspect. When CEO's directly benefit from workers being made redundant, something is inherently wrong.

The digital age has created powerful but inept corporate giants that are changing the demographics of our society.



Rampant technology is not serving us as well as we'd like, and as Facebook demonstrates, popular technology in the hands of a village idiot is fraught with danger. Our homes are highly regulated. Our roads are highly regulated. The way wealth is created and managed is highly regulated. But there seems precious little government concern at the industry of collecting information about us all.

What is needed is to break the monopolies of these digital parasites. There's nothing particularly advanced about Facebook...why aren't there alternatives?



I don't use Google, as an example, because they sell your data for profit.

There's an Eastern European equivalent of Facebook called VK or something, not sure whether it has anything to do with Facebook but the layout is almost identical.

Maybe there's a different standard for soldiers but where is this horrible racism and sexism? I must have missed most of it.  Nearly all of these comments should be allowed in a democracy with free speech.  people should ALWAYS be able to criticize their leaders.  If not, they live in a dictatorship  (then again that is what the left wants, isn't it?)

Facebook has banned Frontpage Editor and Glazov Gang host Jamie Glazov for seven days. Jamie's crime is posting/reporting on his Facebook page a physical threat that was made to him personally on his FB page by a member of the Religion of Peace.



On Saturday, April 14, 2018, a certain Muhammad Irfan Ayoub started commenting on Jamie's page, rebuking him for daring to bring attention to the persecution of women and girls under Sharia and telling Jamie to convert to Islam. As the exchange ensued over various aspects of Islam, and as Jamie made clear he did not want to convert, Ayoub made it clear that there would be punishment and that "Allah will defeat you."



Jamie inquired how this punishment from Allah was synonymous with Islam being a Religion of Peace — which Ayoub contested Islam to be.  Ayoub explained that there is only peace for those who obey Allah and his prophet, but for those who do not, there will be no peace. I hope they follow photobucket's lead and charge for usage. Something better than FB would appear almost overnight.
