Leaving the jobsite at the end of the day, and somehow a vehicle ended up crashing into a light pole, but not before striking a couple of pedestrians in a crosswalk! One looked like she'll live, but the other looked good and dead.
Looks like another case of D.W.A. (Driving While Asian). For anyone that doesn't know, the Metrotown area is majority FOB Chinese, so you'll always be entertained there!
I think the Chinese are used to these sorts of incidents though...
Well, aren't you a lucky boy.
Any normal person would have took a pic or vid and put it on Snapchat

I thought about taking a pic, but I am far too classy.
I found out that the dead dude was actually the 80 year old driver of the car. They list him in 'critical condition,' but he looked pretty dead to me! Maybe they somehow managed to bring the old fart back to life?
The younger girl was unable to stand on her own, but otherwise didn't look too bad. I'm guessing her leg may have been broken, or at least injured.
http://www.news1130.com/2018/04/09/three-hospital-car-hits-pedestrian/
Driver was an 80 year old guy...some sort of medical co dtion. The girl who got hit I guess can't stand on her own.
Old fart shouldn't be driving.
So, you start a thread about you seeing something you didn't see?
I see.
.
Maybe he did shrooms?

Wait until you're 80.
See how you feel about it then.

What are you talking about?
Why would I make this shit up? Only once I read my linked article, did I realize dude laying dead on the ground was actually the driver. I had first assumed he was a struck pedestrian when I originally started this thread, as the vehicle did not sustain that much damage.
I spend many hours driving around the city with work. I see more things than the average commuter would.
And they can list him in 'critical condition' all they want, but I watched the fire department arrive and do at least 10 minutes worth of chest compressions on the guy non-stop, before the ambulance even got there.
If the Medics eventually jump started this guy, I can assure you he's nothing more than a vegetable.
Then again, he made it to 80, so it's not like he died young or anything...
Probably a heart attack at the wheel.
That has to be it. The vehicle didn't sustain that much damage... I don't even think I saw any deployed airbags.
Yet I had a hard time figuring out how the fuck he could cross over a crosswalk on the ONCOMING side of the lane (meaning this guy traveled over two lanes in the oncoming direction very quickly, hit a pedestrian, and then hit a pole, but not that hard. Drunks slowly swerve around, but it looked like this guy just cranked the fucking wheel fast. Probably slumped over on it...
Now that I understand dead dude was the actual driver (when shit like this happens, there's many people standing around, and you don't know who the fuck is who), heart attack would seem the likely cause.
Luckily the young girl he hit just appeared to have a broken leg(s) at most, so she should be OK.
Used to turn up to accidents with a bent front bumper, and a body at the wheel.
Pissed me off, because even though it was clear the driver suffered a heart attack, it meant a full fatal accident report had to be prepared. Weeks of fucking work.
I think they do that here too, since the cops started to block the entire intersection once they arrived, which REALLY fucked up traffic, but by then I was through already. The don't normally do a full road closure unless there's a fatal, or injuries serious enough to potentially become fatal.
I suppose they cannot rule out other possibilities, even though the guy is 80 and probably had a heart attack. I'm sure an autopsy would highlight anything strange. BUT, everything by the book these days!
Then again, there have been cases of 'significant others' almost getting away with the perfect murder... Murder that looks like a natural death won't be questioned.

Yes. Driving for a living = see a lot more that happens
Yes, CC. You are absolutely correct!
I use to see a ton of shit too when I delivered pizzas and drove a cab. Still do to a degree, but not as much, since Im on the interstate 100 miles a day.

I hate it
Nothing worse than getting up and having to drive an hour to get to work.
Maybe if I was getting paid to do it lol.
It was national walk to work day last week, I did NOT participate

Because it would take me 2 days to get there if I hustled lol. Then again, I could just get halfway, the holiday would be over by then, then hitch a ride the rest of the way and arrive the next morning lol.
Great. A cab driver gets more posts than me.

I did it for a year. You meet all walks of life.
Try driving a police car for a year.
Now, THAT'S entertainment.
I try to avoid people as much as I can.
I use to be a real people person....always communicating, hanging out, doing things....but people today have changed....im sure majority of the problem here is people of the LML ...so snobby and unrealistic.
I'd rather give my time of day to thge few close around me.
Yet you are part of our little community.

We don't have college dorms. Or didn't then. I think there are some now.
Nurses quarters, brothels, strip joints, private homes, un-private homes, drug houses, hotels, motels, clubs, caravans, tents and open bushland.
No pizza delivery though.
Lol, there was tough competition to do a delivery to the strip club lol. Just about seen all that you listed too lol.
So, you mean I could have had all that fun by delivering pizzas, rather than getting spat on, shot at, abused and assaulted?
NOW you tell me.

No not really. You get shit treatment doing that too. I was robbed once as well, policy was I couldnt carry a gun. At least you were armed, didnt have to maintain your vehicle yourself, and didnt have to pay your gas. Plus the benefits you got and pension. It prolly was funner than being a cop though lol, and as much pizza as you could eat lol.
We ate pizza, too.
LOTS of pizza. And McDonalds. And every other form of shit food.

I delivered Pizza also! It was my first real job after I dropped out at 16, besides delivering newspapers from my bike at earlier ages.
Stayed with that employer for a year and a half, believe it or not! They treated me well, and were fun to work with! The money wasn't great, and that's why I eventually moved on to other things...
However, if the entire economy crumbled, and that was the only opening, I would not hesitate to do that job again, should I have to. It wasn't that bad.
This was before the days of wireless debit/credit card handhelds, and it would not be uncommon for me to pack around hundreds of dollars in my wallet, until I settled the float at the end of the night...
Luckily I lived, and still live, in a mainly White middle class neighbourhood, where the odds of robbery were fairly slim. I never had a problem, although a few people did take a second look at the fat stack in my wallet when I gave change... Learned to separate most of the stash in my console, only carrying what I needed for change.

Lol, I remember you telling me.
If I HAD to do it again I would. But since they tacked on a $3 delivery fee, I hear tips are WAY down, because the customer thinks the driver gets it.
I was forced to drop out in my senior year, and thats around the time I started delivering too lol.
I really didn't mind it! The problem was wear and tear on my car, and gasoline expenses. Just didn't earn enough to cover these expenses properly.
There's one pizza joint in town here that actually provides company cars to drive! Now that might work a bit better, as even if the wage is shit, you still keep the tips and have ZERO operating expenses!
