Other than world peace, immeasurable wealth and immortality?
Sipping single malts on Islay is top of my list.

Lol I mean to say shopping list, but if there's a wish I wouldn't mind living in a modern house next to a lake in Canada or maybe some beach house in Hong Kong. ac_cool
Currently I want to trade in my current computer for this gaming notebook, the Asus GM501, lol.

What game are you into?
I'm mainly a huge fan of MMORPGs, or those war strategy games along with a few first person shooters. Though I haven't played them for almost a couple years and now i'm starting to itch for some gaming action. ac_cool Do you happen to play computer games too Brick?
Yes....I am addicted....not with MMORPG's though. FPS, racing and some adventure games.
Currently struggling through Sniper 4 on maximum difficulty.

Sweet, I never knew you were into PC games too, which is definately cool to know. I used to enjoy some racing games like Ridge Racer and Grand Turismo, but haven't played them for years. The last FPS I played was OverWatch, and downloaded Battlefield 4 but haven't really tried it out yet. Do you happen to game on a desktop or you're more of a laptop kinda guy?
Console. I run Apple machinery, so desktop titles aren't that great. Used to be a PC gamer.
I laid claim to be the world's oldest level 50 in BF 4 in the official forum. No-one counterclaimed, so I insisted I held the record!!
A new sofa for the main living room..
Probably not this year, but a new car for me.
A Honda S2000??

As much as I like your car, it's not very practical.
1. A different job
2. A new caravan
3. More travel
Oh, and soft pretzels. I want to become an expert soft pretzel maker. There's a knack to it and I keep practicing.
A fresh coat of paint for the house, new running shoes, and a new snowblower.
I have everything I need, except that I would one day like to meet a significant other that compliments my lifestyle.
My standards are high though, so I'll roll solo until that happens.

I remember playing on a console back in the old school days, was so much fun, but once I got into PC gaming I just couldn't go back despite how hard I tried ac_unsure , though I gotta admit console is so much more better in value wise, and not to mention the bugs and hardware compatibility issues on PC has always been a pita.
I never knew you're into Battlefield too ac_cool , used to be addicted to BF2 and BF2 Bad Company and love driving those tanks and APCs around, classic counterstrike was one of my favorite FPSs too, and now it's the futuristic Overwatch, not a bad game but unfortunately it doesn't have a single player campaign mode despite having so many cool characters.
Actually, just got current wishes
New flashy custom chrome wheels and new custom grill (replacing the only factory components that took from the overall look)
Along with a couple of previous modifications, our pet is now "very personally customized"

You mean your T bird cc?
. oops
Yes Fash. Looks pretty nice now.
Well I guess it did before, but there were a few things we thought the factory could have done to better compliment the overall sleek sculpted "look"
The company They had tried to make it a bit "retro" (memories of the original of 50 yeas before) ... and very quiet ... I'm guessing the designer would rather they not mess with the smooth sculpting by using a throwback rather ugly grille
We had previously added brown burl wood to the center console and up the center of the dash ... the only element they missed in complimenting the of-white interior
And we had added a mellow but not silent exhaust system the put "a bit of appropriate thunder in the Thunderbird
Our pet, lol
My husband has said he'd like to buy an old muscle car and totally restore it..
It seems to be a never ending project.
That would be fun ... a lot of work, but if he likes doing it it is all good .. and rewarding
Some car buffs like to restore to exactly stock, others like to customize / personalize ... both are great hobbies
Our current baby isn't very oldy, but we have had some nice classics in the past
Lol, mate just realized that his first and current cars were the only ones he did customization to ... His first car was a classic convertible that he "bull-nosed' (where all chrome was removed including door handles and all other items and added bubble skirts and repainted it .. & "hollywood" mufflers of course - prolly at the very the start of "customizing" cars)
I buy clothes at least six times a year, so that's on my list. A Titleist 917 series driver because I damaged my current one. A trip to the Dominican Republic.

Sounds pretty cool to me, when you get it done please do share some pics. ac_cool I used to do some mods on my car... things like a bug deflector and some rain guards on my civic hybrid. :laugh3: The most I did was added some 5 spokes rims taken from a stock civic coupe, and added some grippy tires but then my car's mileage dropped by 20%, I guess it was some what expected.

For this year lol, I REALLY wanna finish up my Jeep. Feels like its always something with that thing, but I love it. I've replaced a lot already, next step is suspension and tires, its all wore out. My dream has always been to put 33 x 10.5" tires on it, currently has 31 x 10.5, but to achieve that it needs at least a 2" suspension and 1" body lift. Those Jeeps are picky, and so am I lol, so I wanna do it right first round with something good but that wont break the bank, a complete kit. Old Man Emu is the brand of springs Im thinking, the new Rancho RS500X shocks, either JKS or Metalcloak adjustable track bars, JKS quick disconnect sway bar links, bump stops. Will also need new tires, and debating rims while Im at it, black. All that costs though, so I may go with a cheaper route. Suspension and tires have to replaced no matter what.
Then there is the theme I been wanting to give it. Every vehicle I've owned I've always wanted to give it a theme. This Jeep, I wanna do a Tolkien theme, I've already named it Shadowfax lol. Thinking of putting that decal on the side of the hood, or Tolkien TJ, since its the TJ model. I got a couple things mocked up. Plus do a custom tire cover I think, some stickers here and there. Ordering a custom shifter knob next week, since my new Terminator transmission didnt come with a knob. Gonna put Gandalf's mark on it I think lol, maybe wood.
Also for this year, I would like to visit my brother in Seattle ac_smile

I use to be into gaming since I was a kid, then got into MMORPGs, like Dark age of Camelot, which I rocked at, and World of Warcraft. Jeeps are just plain awesome IMO. ac_cool Not to mention I like how they can handle really tough situations that most cars can never handle. We used to have a Cherokee jeep too and my brother was a crappy driver, due to his awful driving he got into 4 very serious car accidents but 3 out of the 4 incidents our jeep never suffered any damage/dents etc except for a bit of paint loss, while the other cars unfortunately got crushed opened. And then there's the fun plowing through snow barriers or thick mud puddles, lol. Being an ex-jeep owners I can understand why you'd choose a jeep too. ac_cool
lol Xp might be old, but imo it still beats Vista and Windows 8/9 and 10. I miss how resource efficent xp is compared to the newer windows. My cousin happens to be a fan of DAoC and Wow too, though I got hooked into Everquest and Guild Wars 2 and currently waiting for the new Pantheon MMO coming out this year. I wanted to try out Elder Scroll Online too but heard it was very bland, sadly there just doesn't seem to be any good MMOs for now since WoW took the throne, lets just hope Pantheon can keep their promise. ac_unsure

If I ever had a Cherokee, I would like one of the older 2 door models.
You're darn tootin' on what that thing can do lol! I've forded a river with water up to my headlights, crawled over rocks and trees, driven in snow almost 2 feet deep, climbed mountains, it always impresses me and gets me anywhere. I love taking the top off like I did today, and the doors off. The windshield also folds down. I wanna keep it going as long as I can, for if it ever died, a piece of me would die lol.
I like parking on piled up snow banks in parking lots lol.
You're right, those things are extremely tough. I hit a guard rail one time sliding on ice, damn state plow contributed to me doing this by throwing debris on me like a tidal wave. I was worried I fucked it up, my son told me "dad, those things were dropped from planes in the war, its fine"
I know you're right on XP! I really dont wanna upgrade lololol, but damn it, everything is ending support for it. I cant do my taxes or watch Vudu, etc. Everything requires at least 7. Thinking of upgrading to 7 or 8 just to get by til I get a new puter, and stay with 8 maybe. I hear 10 super sucks with ads and such.
I played DAoC for 4 years! I was a champ at that Im serious lol, maxed out. My damage caster was Aforce Tareckonwith and my tank was Nottoday Nortomorrow
Hate to hear that on Elder Scrolls online. I liked DAoC for the 3 realm assaults and such, storming castles, and I heard ES was like that. Wow is ok, mostly graphic wise, and quest line.

That's the thing I like about American cars ac_cool , especially for Jeeps it always feels like the best of your nation's culture and experience is passed onto this one vehicle. Japan might have nicer quality control, but when it comes to toughness, durability and power I can't think of any car that comes close to American 4x4s.
Think xp update support has ended about 10 years ago, and I'm kind of surprised you can still post on TBC with it :001_tongue: . I wouldn't consider recommending Windows 10 since it's mainly designed for tablet/touch screen PCs, while on traditional laptop it offers too many incompatible features. But yea 7 would be the best out there for regular computers, has the nice graphics of vista and the resource efficiency of xp. ac_cool
XP was a good system ... still is for "low demand" usage and programs it can deal with
7 was a very clean smooth runner and could deal with some of the more modern programs .. many went back to it from from early 8
That said, 10 meets the same standard (very clean smooth runner and could deal with some of the more modern programs) and is much faster, speed being almost a "need" for many newer and larger applications ... AutoCAD being an excellent example
My 10 pro runs beaut .. and is very fast on huge programs using huge files and performing huge calculations .. and runs stable all the time
On a solid state drive (the cheapest and most dramatic speed item that exists) it flies, making huge tasks seem small
The best (and the "right") version for anyone is the one that does the jobs they need it to do, and does them well and fast enough

I built my last build with Windows 7 in mind, since I will run it until it is no longer supported.
High end Skylake (i7-6700K @ 4.00 GHz) processor was what I had to settle for, as that is the last processor line that Microsoft will officially 'allow' to run Windows 7 with, but is nonetheless powerful enough to keep me going for some time. My Mobo can overclock that chip, should I ever need more. I will run Windows 7 until the bitter end.
Windows 7, hands down, is the best O/S that Microsoft has released to date, and I can run any O/S that I want to.
Hopefully the idiots at Microsoft release a proper O/S before Windows 7 support ends in 2020.

But now that you mentioned it I'd have to admit Win 10 isn't that bad as I thought, ac_cool though there's not much new features for regular PCs, but I have to admit the customizable tile features are really nice, but kind of miss the glass UI from the Vista and Seven OS, though Wins 10 still has a nice futuristic look to it.
Main thing is that 10 is more stable, very much faster ... and runs newer heavy duty upscale software ... AND does not get all squishy and boggy after a lot of heavy use
With the high use we do, 7 and all others had to be re-installed from scratch to clean them up at least every 6 months (or less) ... 10, never so far ... and it still starts up and closes in very few seconds
Yes, 7 was good ... and still is for light to medium duty. If you "need" a strong horse to ride, 10 is FAR better in every way
if you don't, 7 is good
BTW. We've used 7 soon as it came out and used it for years ... I can also say that we have been using 10 since summer of 2015 when it came out.
So I can say that we have experienced "both of them for a good period of time" ... and from the earliest builds through to the latest ones
I don't want an O/S that was designed for phones. I don't want an O/S that spies on my every move.
I want a proper desktop O/S, and 7 was the last one that was designed as such.
I have no problems with 'squish or bog.' It's fast, but I keep my shit running light and tight!
What would be interesting, CC, is if we would both do a stress test on our systems, and compare the results...

We still have 7 on one of our computers..
I'm used to 10 now, but I prefer 7.
7 is the last real desktop O/S... Supported until 2020, and I will not switch before that...
Quote from: "Zetsu"
Think xp update support has ended about 10 years ago, and I'm kind of surprised you can still post on TBC with it :001_tongue: . I wouldn't consider recommending Windows 10 since it's mainly designed for tablet/touch screen PCs, while on traditional laptop it offers too many incompatible features. But yea 7 would be the best out there for regular computers, has the nice graphics of vista and the resource efficiency of xp. ac_cool
Lol, I can still post!
Thanks to you and Angry, I think I'll just upgrade to 7. Though I'll still have to do a clean install, coming from XP.
I have Adobe Creative Suite 4 on it, and I hear its not compatible on 10 either.
Guys...guys...

Few are interested. No market for Apple apps as too few users and virtually ZERO engineering firms use it ... have had only ONE question re: apple in all these years ... and I never got to find out if he even had AutoCAD .... pretty rare for apples .. . not sure if it even runs it well .. it's a non starter for what our clients do
Quote from: "Angry White Male"
What would be interesting, CC, is if we would both do a stress test on our systems, and compare the results...
Our techies do tests every time a new AutoCAD or Windows comes out
We have to test our product on all platforms. Originally started on XP compatible ... upgraded as software increased in size through the years ... 10 blows any previous system out of the water ... Even 8 was faster than 7 ... although 7 was more reliable than 8 or 8.1 .... the speed comparison numbers for high loading on 7, 8 and 10 are dramatic
Again, nothing wrong with 7 .. its very stable .... great if a 6 cylinder engine turns your crank, so to speak ... & meets your needs
Tests? Been there done that ... each year for over a decade now ... we have to methodically test on all platforms
Aside: One can run some Solid State /drives on 7 - it's very solid when the drive is right ... just be sure TRIM is installed and made active. We used them toward the end of the 7 era
Also: I did like 7 back then - unfortunately it's just too slow for what we do now
Blaze: If you are running XP now I suspect that you will enjoy 7 even more ... not sure for how much longer it will be supported for tomorrow's security threats
The fact that you even discuss the relative merits of Windows this and Windows that exposes it for what it is. Junk.
Apple users never compare Snow Leopard with Sierra, because ALL variations are stable, efficient and reliable. Software updates usually focus on functionality, and let the hardware upgrades do the heavy lifting.
When you have to compare your operating system to the iteration 8 years ago, its a DUD operating system.
Near term: Build a gym in my house.
Long term: Move back to Asia.
Apple can't even run Civil 3d ... best they can even make for it is a "special" lighter version of plain and .. appropriately .. "lite" itself
It won't run the heavy stuff ... so apple is a non issue for the big boys / heavy lifters
Even if it could run our stuff we and others would not bother doing the programming .. it's market is way too small to justify the cost of developing product for it
There's talk ... and there's walk the talk
Don't forget serious gamers too. Some have insanely powerful rigs that are only possible with a Windows system, at least at a reasonable price.

Right?
I left my god damned firearms licence at the range tonight. It was almost closing, and I don't remember them giving it back to me. Just occurred to me now.

Hell no! I use Macs at work, we have half a dozen unusable ones. Seems their OS support runs out faster than Windows. Stuff stops working quickly software wise.

Oh yeah, is that why they came out with Boot Camp so you could run WINDOWS on it!

I'm not building an addition. Just turning part of the basement into a home gym.
Good things about life in Asia?? Are you fucking serious?
-reasonable taxes
-no mass muslime migration
-no kissing muslime ass
-no snowflakes, neither the kind that falls from the sky nor the kind that has their heads in the sky
-more liberty- you have control over your own financial future and can speak your mind on things you can't here
-no antifa, TIDES, greedy Aboriginal chiefs, powerful entitled snivil serpent unions and carbon taxes
-ALL LIVES MATTER in Asia

2 years makes it worthwhile to use.
It's a good solid program, runs clean and is fast for regular use. It also will run quite heavy loads, just not as fast as newer versions like 10
An old CAD machine will have the horsepower to run 7 well .... a good combination

Most of East Asia is affluent with a high quality of life and with a much more reasonable price tag attached to it than the in Canada. Most of East Asia is democratic too. Even in China, where the people do not "elect" their government, Beijing cares a lot more about the will of the people than in this country. We have three major political parties, but no real choices.
It doesn't surprise me Hollyweird portrays Asia in a negative light. Successful low ta societies, with a high quality of life not being overrun with muslimes. Beats their diversity argument to a fucking pulp.

Good to know! Yeah and 7 is pretty cheap now too.
I use it for my Creative Suite software. So in 2 years Im gonna need a new machine, and new CS software. I do NOT like the Creative Cloud subscription based bullshit. So I will have to find a CS 6 software version, and they aint cheap. Its the last CS for disc they made.

Not many. Not like Europe or the US.
"According to Canada's 2011 National Household Survey, there were 1,053,945 Muslims in Canada, or about 3.2% of the population, making Islam the second largest religion in the country after Christianity."
"According to the 2016 Australian Census, the combined number of people who self-identified as Muslim in Australia, from all forms of Islam, constituted 604,200 people, or 2.6% of the total Australian population, "
Only around half of Canada.
