You sir have just read my mind. ac_cool It might be a bit slow on the highway or when the lights just turned green, but yea when I first received it I was surprised how well made and precise the fitting of the entire car was compared to other manufactuers. Lol end up paying 27000$ CAD before tax credit for a civic, but for a Made in Japan product I'd say it's definitely worth it. ac_cool
Our Honda CRV lasted 20 years, and a friend kept telling me that if we were ever going to sell it, he wanted first refusal. He bought it, and the thing is STILL as good as the day if came off the showroom floor. Keep them serviced and maintained and they will run forever.

I had a similar ride to that at one time that I liked a lot, a Geo Storm Hatchback, was so cool. Back side windows popped out like T-tops. Sporty lil thing, I slinged some pizzas with that thing lol.

Oh I know on Big Red, most drive Freightliners and Macks, Its a Peterbuilt aint it... or a Kensworth? I like the classic lookin' big rigs lol.
It's actually a Kenworth W900B!. It's and oldie, but a goody. Full dump-truck spec'd from front to back from factory. It's mean, and was built mean from the factory.
Heavy (double) frame, and a ride that makes you not enjoy your shift (Hendrickson walking beam). Tough, so be prepared for a rough fucking ride all day long!
It's a purpose built mud-truck! I also pull a pony trailer with it also from time to time, depending on customer needs...

Ya gonna get Scouse going again
Lol, I've always loved hatchbacks. My first car (that ran) was a hatchback, '86 Nissan Sentra XE. I loved that car. The rear side windows opened with levers near the e-brake. Was cool cause any smoke would evacuate if those were opened and the front ones too lol. A friend accidentally broke the back window, and I had it replaced with a snap down vinyl top with a moon window lol. Was the only one like it. Then painted it purple, and it became "the one eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater"
The next one I had was a '90 (?) Geo Storm hatchback. I loved that one too, it would go for a small car like that! The rear side windows also would prop out, but had to manually, and you could remove them almost like t-tops.

Thanks! Not that the factory mufflers sounded that bad, but I did have MBRP axle-backs installed, which gives it a bit more bark without pissing off the neighbours!
Cars, the only interest I have in them is to get me from A - B, but what about you? Are they a status symbol for you or just a necessary mode of transport?
I love my new one. I've had it 3 years and it's still only done just over 3,500 kms so it's still classed as a new car...lol.

Well which forum?
Why aren't the forums labeled properly? Reject Rodeo? WTF is that?
Quick, tell me, you know how impatient I am.
It's a general discussion thread. RR is the dumpster.
Ask Fash to move it into the open area.
But just so you know, there is already a thread about people's rides.
And your girl Feral is getting a tad frisky...

I drive a common car. Its older. I dont care to get a brand new car. (Altho I most likely will buy a newer used car this year). I really dont give a shit about "the look" of a car...it doesnt represent who the person behind the wheel really is. Just because someone drives a brand new Mercedes or whatever the fuck, doesnt mean they are "important"...many people tend to think this way. There are a lot of females whose husbands are rich and they dont work...women like this are useless and are not important as they think they are. Some of these useless twats have laid on the horn at me in public parking lots or narrow areas, I have gotten out of my car and walked over to them to deal with their pathetic actions and situation...none of them wanted to confront me face to face....they all try talk to me thru their closed window or back up and drive away....bunch of pussies with loser status title..lol
For me cars are more of an transportation, shelter to take a nap and providing heat/ac while in public, generator to charge my phone and other gadgets during a blackout, enjoy and thrill of driving/acceleration, a game of mastering my gas mileage efficiency and maybe a status symbol in the future if I ever buy a nice sports car. ac_cool
The area where I live has a lot of ignorant people. Just parking in any parking lot is asking for damage.
Including my car...and if you actually walk around the parking lot and look at all the cars..including all the bmws, Mercedes, jags and teslas....all of the have Nick's, scratches and dents.
Generally it's from other people nor being careful opening their car door or even side scraping...it so common.
There is a woman in my neighbor hood...parks closer to me...she must be the worlds worst driver....she has a nice car but its filled with scratches and dents galore. You can see on poles and siding where she side swiped and backed into objects....its horrible!!
The other day I noticed she was backed in (which she never does)...anyway, my mom came over and asked what happened to the giant pot outside? I was like what!?!....one of my neighbors has a giant pot by their car port (she parks on the other side, next to it)....I went to look and she backed into it while she was trying to back into her spot...it gets better...shes so fuckin stupid, the turned the pot around in attempt that no one would notice, but there are scratches on her car from this, plus all the broken bits and still lying around her car. Shit for brains.
It's people like this that are everywhere, there is no use un buying a new car when theres hugh risk for damages and people just hit n run all the time. Last fall, I guess someone tried to turn around using my car port to do so...they hit and dented my car door in the process...another reason to have a motion sensor camera in my car port to record every single time some action happens.
I drive a ute.
Lol this is the main reason why I'm hesitant to buy a nice car in Canada, like you say it's just not worth it being surrounded by idiots.

Seriously, it's just not.
That's only a tiny fraction of shit that happens. Theres just so much more I have dealt with. I want get pepper spray to leave in my car for some other interactions I've had. Best yet, I need a dash cam...I'm looking at them these days.
I think the next time I have one of those situations, I'm gonna hit the "alarm" button on my car...lock it and just walk away while letting it go off. Stand from a distance and record the mother fucker.

I'd recommend getting a dash cam for sho, if not at least use a any recording app on your phone and you'll notice a lot of people will start to drive more considerately, used to deal with a lot of morons on the road, over 80% are FOBs in my old neighbourhood so it's been always been a pain in the neck until one day I started mounting my phone on the windshield(for gps) and most of the paranoid idiots think I have a dash cam app on. ac_cool

That's an excellent idea! I can use some old devices as a set up till I actually get one!!
Theres a lot of FOBs here too. But not that high.
Thx for saying that! I got ideas now!!
I could probably set up an old device in my car and actually use it as a dash cam for the time being...
I still drive the HRV. It'll be all paid off this September. Running good. Changed the cabin and engine filter last month.

I bought a Civic recently. It's not new, but it's in A-1 condition.
We have a dashcam but I have never set it up.
The reason I have my GMH Malibu is because 3 years ago our GMH Crewman got stolen for 10 days... I went ahead got another car during those 10 days..
now we have 3 vehicles which is ridiculous for two people. My husband is stuck in the 1970s and I have no way of shifting him out of them.
I need advice. men are very hard to reason with.
I stopped bothering with the dashcam after it couldn't handle summertime heat generated from the UV through the windscreen and I got tired of having to remove it every time I parked out in the open. Plus the one time somebody sideswiped me and I offered the dashcam footage to the insurance company, they weren't fussed about it.
When I drive, it's usually a luxury stretch limousine.

We don't see any Malibus on our roads. Only mine. I THINK I saw a car like mine ONCE.
You bought it in 1981. It was 8 years old and you had to replace the motor.
I guarantee you had many other mechanical repairs done to it.
I drove Holdens EVERY day for years, in circumstances beyond normal driving. They were OK but not great, and built on European design platforms that became less relevant to Australian drivers.
If Holdens were so great, where are they now? Asian made cheap GM badged piles of crap, or German made Opels that they cannot give away. Holden is deader than Elvis. Dealers are closing daily, and the Holden brand will be gone in 5 to 10 years tops.
I sold it for $1,000, (the guy beat me down)..

NOPE... My granddad bought it new in 81... and in 85 I inherited it... when the blue motor carked it, we slapped in a 186 red motor (kingswood motor) and it never once broke down with the 186 motor).. it had a gear box... 4 speed.
My husband knows about cars so any minor stuff was fixed straight away.
I used to cart my 3 Ridgebacks around... had tonnes of fun...
when I inherited it, I had to replace the windscreen ( bc it was sand blasted) and it was stolen by abos but we got it back the next day (thank goodness)
The big secret to our car;s longevity was having a HUGE radiator in it... bigger than the original...It never over-heated.

.
When my granddad owned it, he drove it regularly to Dongara and Kalgoorlie.. depending on stops and how fast you drive, both those distances are 5.5-6 hour drives.
He worked it very hard really. But he had two mercedes broken down then got rid of them for the 1981 Commodore.
Those Commodores were the beginning of the end of Holden.
Before these models, Holdens were designed and built in Australia. The 1979 Commodore was a revision of the German Opel, with Australian modifications to suit our different road environment. However, the piecemeal approach to the car created problems; it was too heavy...the original design was for a 4 cyclinder car...because Holden had to use larger 6 and 8 cylinder engines for Australian customers. Because of that, the suspension also had to be modified.
Eventually, the six cylinder engine built by Holden was no longer suitable, because it could not pass emission tests...so a Nissan 3 litre engine was used. Thus, it became a German body, Japanese or American engine and Australian/American gearbox and suspension.
Whilst it was popular because of the Holden brand, the reality is it simply didn't work, and was eventually abandoned for ANOTHER Opel design with an American engine.
Holden's days were thus numbered. It kept going ONLY because of Government subsidies and heavily discounted fleet and government sales.

Cant say I blame him lol. Its nice. My father in law had one like that, but it was a light blue/green. He fixed it up, under the hood shined, powerhouse. So much power he twisted the frame lol, so he got rid of it. I'll never forget this one time this guy tried to gas passed us, and he said "looks like he wants to race!" and he dropped it down in gear while rolling, that thing got to squalling and hopping, scared the shit out of the guy beside us, and we just flew on down the road lol.

I'm not sure what you're selling here. That ute was a last gasp of a dying brand, and was rife with mechanical issues, starting with the clutch.
A Supercar shares only ONE component with the standard road car. The manufacturers badge. Not a single body or mechanical component comes from the manufacturer.

straight panels BUT lots of rust in the sill panels...rust in the floor.

The guy who bought it put mags on it straight away..
It was very tough parting with it but Kurt didn't want to paint it after spending so much time on his shit F-250...I mean, who the hell wants a 1971 truck??????

I was looking at google maps down our coast at the surfie areas Margaret River and Grace Town... and I'm positive the white commodore was my old one because the guy who bought it was from Bunbury (2 hours south of me)... I'll see if google still has it.
I bet it's a real collectors car.
When you get to your destination, you have to go back and collect all the bits that have fallen off.
I bet this is my Commodore bc, it's got the black paint around the windows Kurt did. I couldn't believe my eyes... 37 years old.

Kurt said it never saw a burn out that is why it lasted so long... all Aussie Box 186 Red Motor...
the only thing that went wrong, he just said was, the nylon cog on the dizzy and Kurt replaced it with a steel one.
NOTHING fell off the Commodore...ugh... I'm being tried here!~ :evilthoughts2:

There are no blind spots on those station wagons. I can't say the same thing for my sedan.

I'm absolutely crushed... I should have completed the reviews and told everyone what a great buy I got...It does appear they only go to 2017... that's not good. Anyway, I should go buy a second one and make Kurt sell the crewman and the f-250.

You can get longitude and latitude apparently but I don't have the tools for that...
right clicking a picture and asking for "properties" gets you the device used.
I'm glad my pictures contain stuff... my art gets stolen sometimes.
It identifies a photo is my property or not. Signing my stuff in Paintshop and saving it as a new file, takes my details away. I only discovered that because that idiot Dum Sum was trying to get my location at one time....lol

A nice lady, blonde of course (like what else in a TBIRD convertible?), allowed us to pull up close to her 55 and take this rather significant pic
Along with transmission in park, we had to apply emergency brake as our girl kept trying to nuzzle up closer .. Seems the the 55 was male and she is that kind of girl I'm embarrassed to say ac_blush .. We have to keep a close eye on her when she spots something that "turns her crank"
This was taken shortly after we got her 5 years ago & we have made some alterations that didn't exist at time of this pic .. like we didn't like the harsh aftermarket wheels she came to us with so replaced them with more fitting aftermarket wheels .. and changed the grille to a customized chrome & black one we felt more fitted her .... and a cpl more tricks like adding burlwood look to console & dash above it & a muffler system with a mellow sound one can at least hear .. seemed only fitting
And yes, the top lifts off & she can be a convertible .. seems most owners buy them for that .. but being the smooth lines sculptress, I like her as the designer sculpted her to be with hardtop on
She accelerates quite quickly considering she was not meant to be a muscle car.. While engine is a rather small V8, it was made efficiently by Jaguar with what mate says is very high compression (10.5+ to 1) & something called variable valve timing, etc. etc. ...
While a "cruising or boulevard" car by design, she does get to 60 mph in 10 seconds flat when one shifts right on the money

I can't see it cc.
Are you fucking blind?
Nice rides CC.

What year is your TBird cc?
2005 - That's the significance of the duo in the pic - 50 years + 1st year and last year they were made
We talked and her 55 was not only first year, but one of the very first ever made that year ... We know that ours was one of the very last ones made as it was the numbered 50 Years limited Edition # 636 of the 1,500 made identically to mark the 50 years and also to end the 50 years of TBirds
So the 2 in the pic, 50 years apart represent one of the very first and one of the very last
