Title: Powered up the Telecaster and my little Peavey amp...
Post by: Angry White Male on July 07, 2018, 04:15:48 AM
...for the first time in a couple of years.

Both were still made in the US when I bought them as a young kid.

Both still work.

If you play Santana and upload it on Youtube, Kylie Jenner will cook you homemade tamales and feed them to you with a switchblade.

This doesn't sound like a bad deal, actually!

I'll supply the genuine Italian made Wop knife though, as those Mexi's probably carry inferior versions...

Back to the task at hand...

I want to record something while I'm good and drunk now.

It's called "Ruby Gone Tomorrow."

I got the idea for this track almost 20 years ago.  It was meant to be sung punk, but with a power-pop edge.  A serious song though...   The best I can do at the moment is a shitty quiet electric acoustic with no filters at all recorded with my fucking camera...

Upload it on Vocaroo.com and I'll give you an honest assessment.

I'll just upload it here.  I'm drunk enough now.  The intro is no good...  The guitar overpowers my shitty vocals.  Solution is to move camera further away from amp!

Where did it go?

I had a half listen then went back to relisten and it was gone.

How about a pic of the amp, or at least details?  Princeton, Champ, or ,,,,?

Found it again. Had to refresh the page to get it to stop playing other things I watched.

I like your riffs but can tell you've had drinks. Some of my muso mates do the same thing you were doing while on drinks or other things, usually at home or around a fire.

The amp is just a little Peavey.  I have a Zoom pedal if I need additional effects.

Sadly where I live, I cannot really play with the rage and fury in which I'd prefer, or I'd piss off the entire building.  I try to be a good neighbour, since my smoking already irritates some of my neighbours.  However, smoking is permitted in my particular condo building, so there is fuck all they can do about it.

That is OK, as the Telecaster is now back in the closet where it belongs.  No more drunken playing for a while.

Naw, man.  Leave it set up in the living room.  Spend thirty minutes with it (drunk or sober) every day for 2 weeks and you'll be amazed how fast your chops come back.
