Understand that I am not against this, as prohibition of weed works just as well as prohibition of alcohol did. I know many people that toke on a regular basis.
That being said, am I an oddity in the fact that I don't necessarily like the effects of cannabis? Many seem to achieve a 'chill and relaxed' mindset under the influence...
I wish I could say the same for myself. I actually achieve an opposite effect, becoming even more focused on my problems, self-doubt, and it generally raises my anxiety level big time.
Hence why I rarely smoke, if at all.
I wonder why this is? It must be something in the brain no doubt, but I wonder why there would be such a night and day difference between users?
Perhaps the same reason why Ritalin 'speeds up' most, but will do the opposite with a true Hyperactive kid?

It's a poison. It does have some medicinal qualities but they do not agree with me. And it doesn't have all the medicinal qualities they claim it has.
The next morning you do not want to get out of bed hence it makes a person less motivated.
The seeds are tasty... the oil has a perfume.
Smoking it gives you a dry mouth, a ravenous appetite
but
the dangerous part is, you absolutely believe you are functioning normally and you definitely are not. Being behind a wheel puts the innocent public in danger of being killed by impaired doped up drivers.
Agree totally with all above ... especially drivers thinking they are OK when they are not
As for me, the medical version did nothing for back pain and made me feel terrible (physically and mentally)
Never smoked, used vaporizer to heat it (far better than smoking it and almost odorless) and then tried oil when it became legal here
And I used high CBD / THC ratio, nowhere near as hallucinogenic as high THC street stuff. After trying for a fair test period I just ditched it
Very interesting caskur and cc..
We used to have a lady who posted here who was a staunch marijuana defender..
I feel most people who smoke marijuana use it not for medicinal reasons, but only to get high..
I believe she used it for medicinal purposes, but she still got very defensive.
Its trial and error for everyone. It may work for some, it may not work for others. Same can be said for prescription medications.
I only smoke weed at bedtime for sleep, it does help me. I dont smoke enough to actually "get high". I never understood the idea of getting high on weed? I've seen it. It's just smoking too much weed and getting glossy eyed and super chill. I cant do that.
I dont see a problem with smoking weed and driving, but then again, I dont smoke much at one point, I dont find that it affects me if I do drive, which is rare cause I'm always in bed at that time. I guess some people really suck one back and go cruising.
I'm more comfortable however, with people smoking weed while driving than those who are drinking and driving. I like the new laws about the breathalyzer. Many people are complaining about it. I'd say many people have something to hide.

People are not allowed to operate machinery in Australia if they have drugs in their system.
It won't be fun when some doped up selfish bastard kills parents or children or both in a car accident with impunity because that is exactly what is going to happen, in fact it's already happening..

Western Australia decriminalized Marijuana years ago. It just means people are fined on the spot and don't go to court. But if you get drug tested and drugs show up in our blood test, you will be sacked. And rightfully so.
Marihuana is the most overrated drug on the planet.

No. Decriminalized and Legalized are two different things.
It's against the law in Australia still.
Owning two plants, and a person can claim 'personal use' and be fined and you have to go to drug counselling....
more than two planets you're considered a drug dealer and you'll be fined and jailed and your property seized.

When you take a drag from a joint or bong it's called a toke.
I was always given far more than was healthy caused me to be very ill. Only one time I had one toke and listened to Neil Young's "Just Like a Hurricane" on head phones and pretty much reached euphoria on the end solo piece of it.
But at that time I refused smoking and the boyfriend at time smoked on his own. He kept saying about the Rubiks cube he was fiddling with, "I've got it, I've got it, I can solve the cube," and it was apparent he did not and could not not solve the Rubiks cube. I thought, he's delusional.... And if he is delusional, when I'm lying on the floor of the car and cannot move, how is he driving me home?

Never start, it's a horrible addiction. The common addiction are cigarettes.
If a person could smoke once a month and then once or twice over 3 months it wouldn't be a problem. Addictions like that creep up until you're fully under its spell.
It's been 4 years and 9 months since I gave up chain smoking. I still occasionally feel like tasting a cigarette again. I won't though. If I was still smoking it would cost me over $200 a week.

On the subject of how left wing the US has become and how extreme today's Democrats are, take a look at this article by Larry Elde. The had left lurch of the Democrat Party could backfire on them.
To pay for reparations, will Democrats sue themselves?
After the election and re-election of the country's first black president, who would have thought that, less than two years later, leading Democrats would seriously debate paying blacks reparations for slavery?
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi supports a bill that would set up a commission to consider reparations, which she says is "One of the things that we can do not only just in terms of trying to make up for a horrible, sinful thing that happened in our country in terms of slavery, but for our country to live up to who we think we are." She added: "We have to reduce the disparity in income in our country. We have to reduce the disparity in access to education in an affordable way in our country, reduce the health disparities in our country."
But two years ago, President Barack Obama called reparations a political nonstarter. "It is easy to make that theoretical argument," Obama said in an interview. "But as a practical matter, it is hard to think of any society in human history in which a majority population has said that as a consequence of historic wrongs, we are now going to take a big chunk of the nation's resources over a long period of time to make that right."
President John F. Kennedy took the same position. Asked in 1963 about racebased affirmation action for blacks, Kennedy said: "I don't think we can undo the past. In fact, the past is going to be with us for a good many years in uneducated men and women who lost their chance for a decent education. We have to do the best we can now. That is what we are trying to do. I don't think quotas are a good idea. I think it is a mistake to begin to assign quotas on the basis of religion or race or colour, or nationality . ... On the other hand, I do think that we ought to make an effort to give a fair chance to everyone who is qualified, not through a quota, but just look over our employment rolls, look over our areas where we are hiring people, and at least make sure we are giving everyone a fair chance, but not hard-and-fast quotas. We are too mixed, this society of ours, to begin to divide ourselves on the basis of race or colour."
Slavery in America ended more than 150 years ago.
Neither former slaves nor slave owners are alive today. Furthermore, columnist and radio host Michael Medved says that only about 5% of whites have any sort of "generational" connection to slavery. "The importation of slaves came to an end in 1808 (as provided by the Constitution), a mere 32 years after independence, and slavery had been outlawed in most states decades before the Civil War," wrote Medved in 2007. "Even in the South, more than 80% of the white population never owned slaves. Given the fact that the majority of today's non-black Americans descend from immigrants who arrived in this country after the War Between the States, only a tiny percentage of today's white citizens — perhaps as few as 5% — bear any authentic sort of generational guilt for the exploitation of slave labour."
Finally, what about the role of the Democratic Party in slavery, Jim Crow and the resistance to ending them? Republican President Abraham Lincoln, elected on an anti-slavery platform, signed the Emancipation Proclamation and led the North in its victory over the South at the cost of at least 620,000 soldiers dead on both sides. Democrats opposed the 13th Amendment, which freed the slaves, the 14th Amendment, which conferred citizenship on them, and the 15th Amendment, which gave them the right to vote.
During the debate over the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Democrats, including Sen. Al Gore Sr., orchestrated a record-breaking 60-day filibuster in an attempt to block the bill from coming to a vote. By percentage, more Republicans in the House and the Senate voted to pass the bill than did Democrats. Republican Sen. Everett Dirksen received an honour, 40 years after his death, from his hometown's local chapter of the NAACP for his work navigating the bill through the Senate.
When Republican Rep. Bill Mcculloch of Ohio announced his retirement, he received a handwritten letter from former first lady Jackie Kennedy, who thanked him for his role in the bill's passage. Kennedy, who considered the bill a legacy of her husband, wrote: "Your integrity under such pressures is what makes our political system worth fighting for and dying for. Please forgive the emotional tone of this letter — but I want you to know how much your example means to me. It is a light of hope in an often dark world, and one I shall raise my children on as they grow older."
To pay for reparations, does the Democratic Party intend to sue itself for damages?
