This is a dangerous precedent and conservatives, libertarians, free speech advocates, and just plain independents are under attack.
We are on the verge of a purge.
I'm no longer going to use these companies for anything now.
I'd rather use duckduckgo and a safe purchased email service. I'll never buy another Android or Apple phone. Social media companies can continue not having me registered with them.
I've tuned out from so much over the last 10 years. Everything from terrestrial tv broadcasts to having the radio on in the car. Obviously I will have to go further and get satellite service and a decent shortwave base station.
I resent what's happening to society at the hands of emboldened progtards and it's time to do what I can to punish them in my small little ways.
I encourage all of you to do what you can to punish them. This crap shouldn't be happening in a free society.

Have just banned Alex Jones. I don't much care for Alex Jones as a personality. He's an egomaniac and talks a lot of crap in my honest opinion. But if not, this is NOT good at all! I believe last year is when I was noticing more and more taken off google that I once had no problem finding. All this was after Trump got elected, and they wanted to cut off the public's access to truths, since he won.

In years past I payed attention to politics but I never thought the country was coming apart. But I definitely do now. I think it started during the Obama years, especially the second half. And then during, and especially after the election of trump, the left has gone full out Nazi/Stalin looney tunes. They are a serious danger to our freedom and they are only getting worse.

How long before it's not Alex Jones and Infowars being shut down on major platforms, but any ideology that disagrees with the establishment status quo? We must rally behind the principles that founded this great nation, and not allow deep censorship to become normalized and accepted.

What is really problematic, in my view, is publicly funded entities like the CBC, which take on the same left-wing slant, but to the tune of one BILLION dollars per year of taxpayers money.
Private entity does what it wants, and always has, but we should really be asking why our taxes pay for that same slant...

The only thing I can think, is they are trying to rile up both sides anyway they can. Its not happening fast enough for them. Censoring him is a ploy to anger the right into doing something.

It must be doing something right, because Microsoft apparently attempted to deplatform it (it runs on Microsoft Azure). If they can't stop the software, they now try to remove the distribution service.
Its existence seems to suggest that the future will demand abandonment of corporate entanglement at every level.

It is growing rapidly, seemingly being populated by those who are abandoning the leftist platforms. It MIGHT be a new paradigm in open discussion via the internet. Whilst censorship is limited to keeping discussion within legal boundaries, and there is no advertising (to avoid corporate influence) there IS a cost for full membership.

I don't do twitter, and I only use facebook as a way to comment on news websites. I do occasionally use youtube but not often. So such a service, while a very good idea, would not be of much use to me. *BUT* I might join just to give them my money to help them along.
