I find it way too expensive too, and kind of hesitant to stock up some, but this backpack a currently a hot trend amongst DSLR photographers like Brick and I.
You never know what'll work! Chamois made this freak millions!

Lol that guy, I miss watching this commercials... but yea I gotta say that guy is pretty lucky if he can retire from just making a few commercials. :001_tongue:
When your carrying $3000 worth of highly delicate and fragile equipment, $350 is good insurance.
Much like tripods...you can buy one for $30...but would you put a $3K camera and $2K lens on it?
Do t care how expensive it is, doesn't mean it's actually good quality. I bought the kid a hershel back pack last year...paid $120...it started falling apart after 6 months. Everything today is garbage.
Peak Design is good kit. Its designed for protecting cameras in rough situations.

Right on, like ppl say cheap stuff comes at a price, lol. Like the tripod for our dslr or some cheap carbon arrows being too light, warping and causing some guy's compound bow to end up dry firing and exploding in front of him. ac_unsure
The less you pay, the more expensive it is.

Naw, at least not for the moment, lol just wanna get a few opinions before deciding to stock up a dozen or 2 of these bags. So far it seems like everyone find it too pricey even for a gadget bag, unless they're a dedicated photographer like Bricktop and I, which makes sense.

Tbh I find it kinda over priced too, but then the one you link is a store brand, they might both offer the same storage capacity, but the peak design offers a dynamic easily adjustable storage compartment, military grade materials and durability, asthetic designs/looks, and most important you can mount a tripod and waterbottle on both sides and still access teh side compartment along with a anti-pickpocket zipper loop and a patented metal locking mechanism on the top flap to deter backpack thieves.

You got that right sista! Seems like most stuff I buy these days dont last for nothin'. Or production folks are spending too much time on their smartphones and not paying attention, or using lower quality parts since the 2008 crash.
Its not pricey for the level of durability and security it provides. Its not an everyday school bag. Its a bag designed to protect expensive equipment. People who don't carry anything requiring higher levels of protection than a cheap bag provides won't be interested.

It provides protection for very expensive equipment..
In that case, it's like insurance.
I dunno. The Cabelas bag I mentioned is completely waterproof and the company offers good quality products. It may not offer anti theft but I'd be more worried about torrential downpours and dunkings than theft.
https://youtu.be/bD-TZ2gQVmo
Notice it didn't display photographic equipment. Its not suitable, as its waterproof, which means it does not breathe. Cameras HATE humidity, which is why specialised camera bags are made of breathable fabric. Its a matter of horses for courses.
And if you were carrying around 10kg of camera, lens and tripod in that bag, it isn't going to float merrily downstream.
Now, cue some bullshit yarn about how you carried a $70,000 video camera across the Andes in a Coles shopping bag.

Desiccant gel packs are readily available and reusable. Buoyancy in a sealed waterproof bag isn't an issue.
I'm not a photographer and the Andes has a range of climates. Coles has no footprint in South, Central, or North America that I'm aware of.
You're obnoxious.

That's sort of what I was getting at. For a much cheaper price one could get a quality waterproof 30 litre backpack which might work better in rain forest like regions along the Northwestern Coast of the US and Canada. I understand the allure of the other bag though, but that price sucks for what it is and it looks like a fairweather bag which would need a rain fly in torrential rains. Also doubt it's submersible.
Desiccant is cheap too.

Yes, I've heard that..
We have an rv, so we don't camp deep in the forest where hunters go..
We don't own anything from Cabela's..
I like their stores though and the fudge they make.

I'm not too sure do you mean back order from the manufactuer or only stock up when we get orders, it's not entirely impossible either way, but most ppl have a habit of changing their minds due to the long wait, which is understandable.

I do like the idea of it, I mean it can save us a lot of space and money and we can sell it for a cheaper price too in the long run, but unless we order from a distributor, usually there's an MOQ(minimum order quantity) and it might keep our customers waiting too long. IMO this method might work for teens that don't mind waiting just to save like a 5-10% off.
So, there is a minimum order required. That makes sense. They produce in volume, wholesalers buy volume and retailers sell in small quantities.
