Canadian Tire has massively discounted all their long guns! Get yours now there while the prices are rock bottom!
For instance, today I noticed they have Marlin 1895's on sale for $650 CDN! These usually retail closer to $900 CDN! US MSRP is $745 USD!
$650 CDN for this version below (mine is a little different) CANNOT be beat!
Thank me now!

They even have a few Sako's chambered in 'proper' calibers to keep the damn Finn happy, but I don't need no mo' guns right now...
Tons of ammo too. All shelves are fully stocked with almost all of the common rifle calibers, which isn't always the case there. Ammo prices there often cannot be beat either...

Some men at my husband's shop are hunters..
I'll tell my husband so, he can relay the message to them.
Death comes cheap in Canada, huh?

It's a tool for hunting..
This is a large country with a lot of wild game.
Its a tool for killing.
It does not care what is at the other end of the muzzle.
The purchase and ownership of these devices merely underpins and finances an industry of death and slaughter. We need to move on from barbaric rituals and abandon killing as entertainment.

We've had wild game given to us and I cooked it..
I'm in no position to look down on anyone who has a taste for wild game.
Would you kill it yourself?
Quote from: "Bricktop"
Would you kill it yourself?
Do you eat chicken? Would you slit their throats on the kill floor?
Do you eat beef? Would you use an air compressor to blow their brains out in a packing house?

The brother is alright. But, he gets funny about hunting. I gave up hunting years ago, but I like when my nephews stock my freezer every year with elk, moose and venison.
He's mentally unstable about guns and hunting meat.
Hunting meat?
Killing animals in the wild is not hunting meat. Its killing for fun, and reflects a rather disturbed mind.
You want meat, visit a butcher. Those animals are farmed humanely.
See what I mean. He's retarded.
When's the last time you hunted for meat, bucko?

Bullshit. When I hunted, a slug from my centerfire rifle dropped a moose instantly and humanely. A chickens living in crates for a their short few month life before being shocked and having their throats slit is disturbed by comparison.
I agree that battery farming is despicable.
However, that does not justify killing animals for shits and giggles.
Killing animals is for eating. Not for shits and giggles.
Most hunters don't enjoy the killing. They enjoy the rest.
I have never enjoyed pulling the trigger. It's a responsibility though.

With this current sale, it sure does!
Remember though, that Marlin .45-70 bush guns aren't necessarily what a serious hunter would buy... These bush guns are more themed to bush defense against bears. So they do have a purpose, but killing with them would often be a last resort.

You'll never be able to explain this to people that 'forget' where their meat comes from. I am not a hunter, but know enough of them that I can confidently state that the vast majority of hunting kills are more humane than your average slaughterhouse operation...

If you live in the cities of Western Canada, even if one doesn't hunt, many of us know people who do.

Absolutely!
There's tons on hunters and firearms owners in Canada. Enough to give Bricktop a heart attack!

But there's a supermarket where you can buy your meat without going through all the trouble to shoot and kill, unless you're like Herman that is looking for a specific kind of meat unavailable from teh local farmers, I'm still against hunting as a sport.
You're welcome to buy your meat from wherever you like.
I prefer not paying for it and it being wild raised or hand reared in the case of farms or backyards.
Not negotiable.

That post serves one purpose.
It highlights how utterly stupid you are.

You seem to have missed my question.
When is the last time you hunted for food?
GFY, moron.
Precisely, you vacuous castrato.
Your experience for hunting for food is scrambling through the meat display at Aldi.
:001_rolleyes:
You have the intelligence of toenail clippings.
Ooooooo....Freud just BURNED me, whilst ignoring the many times I expose his hypocrisy and stupidity.
Nothing changes, Aaron. In lieu of reason and discussion, you throw out inane and infantile slurs.

All you do is expose yourself and finger it, hypocrite.
Hypocrite?
Oh, please...explain THAT accusation.
This should be good.
Has it not yet even dawned on you that we end up calling each other variations of stupid, dipshit?
And as for accusations; when in Rome' Cleetus-patra.
Well, perhaps you'd actually address an ISSUE, rather than resort to petty name calling, then we could improve the dialogue.
But then, that would kind of ruin your troll.
I generally do address issues. It's your accusations which I tend to dismiss and particularly when an issue is being discussed by us and you revert to accusations followed by demands that I must prove them wrong instead of you proving them right.
Your approach might have yielded you results in your prior occupation but it doesn't work on me. I've recognized from the start that you throw out troll bait then hope you can get me talking in way you can construct the narrative you desire.
When all else fails, you accuse me of trolling.
You're not winning any points on the debate board.
When did you last hunt for your food?
It's a simple question.

There is no comparison to mass produced livestock.

Hmm I never really tried wild game, but usually we get our meat from my brother's judo dojo. 2 of my brother's senior practitioners each opens a meat shop, one specialize in beef and the other in pork. Occasionally they sell us the best quality beef that make us never want to go to a steak house again, lol.

Somebody has to kill and butcher it.
I have butchered what I killed, then ate it. It tastes better and tastes better that way.
Is that whilst driving a train to the hottest fishing spot in the world whilst dining on bruin au gratin?
What did you kill, dress and eat, Crocodile Dummee?
:001_rolleyes:
More than you, Priscilla.
No doubt, Cheyenne...because my only hunting was for humans...and they all surrendered.
But why so evasive, corky?
Its a simple question.

I can understand what you're saying Dinky, I find it more humane to hunt an animal for food like Herman had said, but buying your meat from the market instead of seeking the enjoyment from killing is the more mentally or morally healthy way to go unless getting your own type of meat is the only option. I believe the only time I'll ever hunt or go fishing is when the society collapses or there's a huge food supply shortage. ac_unsure

My stepfather was an occasion hunter. It's actually a lot of work!
My mother ended up getting tired of seeing deer hanging from the carport ceiling, and eventually implemented a 'no more dead animals hanging in the yard' policy, effectively ending that!
