After getting rid of our leftist PM, his replacement has listened to the people.

Australia is walking away from the misguided, irrational and pointless Paris farce.
Idiotic "energy targets" that would have had NO net effect on either emissions or the temperature of the planet have also been abandoned.
Excellent. The US and Oz are making a great start
Now, for Canada!!!

We're going down with the symbolic climate change action ship.
Good luck.
The world will thank you for your sacrifice.
Australia isn't out of the woods yet. They intend to honor the spirit of the Climate Accord. It's double speak.

You are still in a better position than this government has put Canadians in..
More money will continue to be transferred from families to federal and provincial governments.

True, but we are not surrounded by thick forest any more.
Its a smart play. It backs Labor into supporting higher power costs at the next election.

If they are like alarmists here, they'll use words like denier, and anti-science. They will not admit their policies will artificially increase power costs let alone saying how much more it will cost.
They can use all the epithets they like.
We're neither listening nor interested.
We could cease ALL emissions from every car, power plant and other consumer of hydrocarbons, and it would make exactly ZERO difference to the temperature of the earth.
True true

This has been said many times where I live, but it has fallen on deaf ears.

There are two questions the alarmists in this country and I'm sure Australia too won't answer; how much their green energy schemes cost average citizens and how much it will move the climate needle.
The answer is simple.
A lot and none.

Amen.
The state of Washington is holding a referendum on whether to implement a carbon tax.

Will Washington State Voters Make History on Climate Change?
The state could be the first in the union to adopt a carbon price by ballot.

Let me guess, big business and the prog elites support it and the average Washingtonian who has to pay for it does not. I'm betting on the progtards and their financiers.
Putting a tax on carbon emissions is like putting a tax on nuclear weapons. They aren't going away either.

Or firearms. :icon_wink:
Hmmm....a 300% tax on firearms...
Not a bad idea.
And a $500 surcharge on each round of ammunition.

That will keep guns in the hands of responsible owners that can afford them like the Hells Angels, triads and cosa nostra.
The odd thing is that it is rare that these criminal organisations kill innocent civilians...let alone walk into schools and slaughter children.
They aren't your biggest problem in the firearms nightmare that is America. A problem, sure...but not the biggest.

They just supply drugs to neighbourhoods in cities like Chicago that lead to violence and the deaths of thousands across the USA.
Of course. But that is just one of the underlying reasons why throwing guns into that mess is a very bad idea.

In some cities in the United States, the murder rate has dropped, but Chicago isn't one of them.
FNC is currently showing a special on Chicago.
Some blacks want a black mayor, because only a black man can solve the problems of the black community.
I wonder if they have considered the consequences of appointing politicians by race?
Most big US cities have done exactly that ... most big cities are run by only by Demoncrat for between 50 and 80 years, all by Demoncrats (the actual problem is agenda, not race) ..... seems voters in cities are slow learners cause ain't nothin changed in any of the cities except for change the worse
Detroit 84 straight yrs for example and look at it today as it heads for year 85
Which argues clearly for the levels of government to be reduced to 1.

Everything run from Canberra, Ottawa or Washington?
Is that really possible in big countries.
Of course?
Why not?
We already have Federal Government institutions managing issues like immigration, taxation and welfare throughout the whole country without a problem.
Modern communications and air travel mean the tyranny of distance has been somewhat minimised.
