With the launch of Camille Paglia's new book this week, the Drudge Report has unearthed the heterodox feminist's 2016 discussion of feminism as the collapse of Western Civilization. In her discourse Paglia explains, "The period of the 1920s, 1930s: that to me is my favorite period in feminism because these women admired what men had done. There was no male bashing as became systemic to Second Wave feminism. It's an absolute poison that has spread worldwide."



The author of Sexual Personae later takes on the "neuroticism" endemic to modern feminism and how the movement's deconstruction of traditional culture bred the "new religion" of political correctness.



As the Left increasingly insists upon coddling women, abolishing due process, and even dabbling in cultic activism, Paglia's comments offer a refreshing perspective from as insightful a scholar of feminism as any. Firstly, that is NO 70lb backpack. Probably closer to 20.



Secondly, 12 miles is not a great stretch for a backpack march. 3 hrs means you'd have to keep pushing, but 4 miles an hour with full kit is strenuous, but no marathon.



Thirdly, as the narrator says, 46 others crossed the line, and if you watched closely, as Odinson did, one man just ahead of her was just strolling.



A meritorious effort, to be sure, but hardly a superhuman performance. Once again, the media turns a fairly mundane performance into a triumph to show how women are "equal".



I call bullshit. Job well done, and that's all it was.

Women's muscular capacity is typically around 70% of men...with some variations. This is simply down to size. Women's muscles are smaller than men's.



Of course, women can increase muscular capacity to equal a man's who's muscles are normal...but if both male and female muscles are equally developed, then women are around 70% less strong than men, give or take.

At the top end of Australia they've allowed Crocs to go from 3,000 to a hundred thousand and so poor farmers are really at serious risk of being eaten by them... So in some parts of Australia, gun laws don't really work.





We have just as many gun deaths in Australia as anywhere else but we have ZERO mass killings since the ban. That is all we can brag about.

Not so much. In rural areas some go hunting rabbits. But most of our fauna is protected now, and there's not many introduced species to hunt. Most feral species are either too big (camels, water buffalo), or survive in remote areas (goats).



Australia is not a good hunting environment...which is good. Killing animals for fun is dumb.

They weigh well over a tonne, and are hard to kill. They also tend to herd in watery areas which are hard going for humans. I think there is some Asian market for their meat, but it's just too hard.

I am surprised there isn't a tourist industry around hunting water buffalo. Unless the meat is as tough as you say. Canadian bison are about the same size. They are delicious.

We have many large game animals, deer, elk, moose, pronghorns besides game birds like ring necked pheasant and ruffed grouse..



We live in a city with a population of 1.3 million, but we know people that hunt and they have given us samples of wild meat..



Hunting is accepted by most people here.
