How could anyone seriously say they want honour killings, female genital mutilation, homophobia, anti semitism and misogyny are part of the Canadian mosaic. Some cultures have backward ideas that must remain in the countries they are emigrating from. We are a modern, progressive nation. If you cannot adjust, stay away please.

Quote from: "Twenty Dollars"I remember posting in a thread I or someone else started. Had to do with Trump bailing out of the Presidental race in The U.S. I believe he is getting closer to doing this. Continual immature negative tweeting. Losing his temper. Ignorant behavior. Trash talking. I still believe he could bail out and start to point the finger before the election is going to occur. Donald Trump is a major league loser.

You're absolutely right TD. Every single time Trump gets momentum going, he deliberately does something to reverse it. He does not want the job of POTUS.

Unfortunately, Hillary Clinton will be the POTUS. She will likely be the most polarizing president the USA has ever had. It's such a slap in the face to democracy that Johnson could not be in the presidential debates and Weld in the only VP debate.

It's a bloody shit show. I live in a community of expats from all over the world. It's embarrassing to me related to the two fools running. It's unbelievable. Many ask, how is this possible? Merica  :confused1: The debate last night a joke. How can any fool deny the rights of a women to have an abortion, if she chooses.

Trump doesn't really oppose abortion, even though he said so in an interview. He has always been pro choice. Both VP candidates, Pence and Kaine oppose abortion but both at the top of the ticket do not.

None of this matters though because the balance of the supreme court is changing. Roe v Wade will never be overturned.

NO MORE MUSSIES. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT UNGRATEFUL TROUBLE.

You probably do not even know the half of it either brother. I lived in the Middle East for a long time. The UN should shift resources wasted on the fake war on climate change to eradicating the Islamic ideology off of the face of the earth.

Islam represents the biggest threat to Western civilization.

Quote from: "deadskinmask"if posting about it actually solved it, i'd be all over it.... but as it stands, its just two groups high-fiving each other and flipping birds at the other group. no solutions there....

Forget politicians and the games they play. How could any American not be cynical about this phony dog and pony show of an election.

But there is a lot of good stuff on the internet that is helpful. A politicians job is to separate us from our money. Our job is to be smart and know where to invest to keep the fruits of our labour. That involves things like knowing the tax code and keeping abreast of any changes to it that affect us all. That is just one example. We could get into things like building codes, energy efficiency rebates, electric car rebates, firearm rules and on and on.

We all may become a little cynical of politics and rightfully so, but decisions that affect our lives are being made every single day. We would be foolish not to learn as much as we can. Like most people, I have limited time I can spend on the internet. I would hate to think I wasted it on mindless noise instead of useful information.

Quote from: "Fashionista"ANDERSON, S.C. — A jury has awarded a South Carolina woman more than $4.6 million after she was stuck by a needle picked up in a Target parking lot.

Before Carla Denise Garrison's lawsuit against Target Corp. went to trial, her lawyer offered to settle with the retailer for $12,000, but the offer was rejected. If the amount stands, it would be one of the largest awarded in the history of Anderson County litigation, according to Clerk of Court Richard Shirley.

Garrison, of Anderson, said Friday that she was "too overwhelmed" to talk about the case.

According to court documents, Garrison's injury happened in May 2014 in the parking lot of a Target Anderson.

Garrison had parked and gotten out of her vehicle when her then 8-year-old daughter, Kaileigh, picked up a hypodermic needle. Garrison swatted the needle out of her daughter's hand. When she did that, the needle stuck her in her right palm, according to court documents.

Documents show that Garrison went into the store and reported the injury to a Target employee. The employee noted in a report that Garrison "seemed worried."

Garrison was treated at AnMed Health, where she was tested for HIV and hepatitis. She was also prescribed medication because of the potential risk that she would contract HIV. She has tested negative for both HIV and hepatitis thus far, documents show.

According to court documents, the HIV drugs made Garrison sick and caused her to be bedridden. Garrison's husband, Clint, had to take time off work to care for her, according to her attorney.

"When we started this, we were just trying to get Target to make my client whole, to pay for her medical bills and the time that her husband had to take off work," said Garrison's attorney, Joshua Hawkins of Greenville. "We tried to be reasonable and not take this to trial. But Target took a really hard stance on it ... and I think the jury sent a message."

Target spokeswoman Erika Winkels said the company disagrees with the outcome of the case.

"The final damages award has not yet been determined by the Court," she said in an email. "Target is currently considering post-trial motions and appeal options."

The award seems excessive..

Obscene is the word I would use to describe it.

What is the objection to Dr Kellie Leitch's proposal to screen immigrants for Canadian values? What is wrong with keeping something as abhorrent as female genital mutilation out of the country?

Quote from: "JOE"I was at the supermarket recently, going through the checkout counter, and glanced at the covers People and US magazine. They featured stories about plus size families, the Duggars and the Gosselins. Between the two of them, they've created a decent sized hamlet that would show up on the census records for sure.

The thing is...in this day and age of diminished expectations and declining availability of resources (space, housing, benefits), why do Americans still glorify the large, supersized family? Shouldn't they be thinking the other way around? We chastise 3rd world nations for putting too many kids on the planet, yet certain families in wealthy nations like the US do the same thing.

What is the special appeal of having big families? Is it religious? Is it someone showing off, proclaiming their fertility, sexual prowess? Or does the media push it on the public in order to provide hope for those who are parents?

Do you think those families represent America?
