While Republicans underperformed expectations in November, the Democrats still lost control of the lower house of Congress, setting up a GOP-controlled chamber with a razor-thin margin.



Among the incoming freshman class are two Democrats who have voiced support for abolishing prisons.



Rep.-elect Summer Lee, D- Penn., a progressive Democrat, is taking over the district of longtime Democratic Rep. Mike Doyle in Washington.



Lee is a Democratic socialist backed by Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., whose political path is mirroring that of far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.



Texas will see a progressive Democrat headed to Washington next Congress, with Rep.-elect Greg Casar — a self-described democratic socialist who was endorsed by the "Squad" leader herself — taking a seat to represent parts of Austin and San Antonio.



The progressive gains will serve Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow "Squad" members well, as it gives them more leverage in getting their priorities at the front of the party.

Netflix's latest push for the couple comes months after the network canceled Markle's series on the platform and effectively acts as a series about the racist backdrop that allegedly impacts every facet of British society.



"We've never been allowed to tell our story ... until now," says Markle as the program starts, an obvious hint at the direction of the narrative.



Brexit takes significant heat in the first episodes, as Harry remarks that the story "isn't just about [them]," rather that it has "always been much bigger," alluding to the idea that the racism his wife faces is a product of a greater societal problem.

Piers Morgan recently interviewed a vegan activist while eating a delicious steak.



On the latest episode of his show "Piers Morgan Uncensored," Morgan interviewed a vegan activist whose group, Animal Rebellion, protested inside the Nusr-Et Steakhouse in London, which is owned by the Turkish restauranteur known as "Salt Bae."



The broader points that Morgan sought to address were the nutrition side effects of abandoning animal products and why aggressive vegan protesters think intentionally interrupting restaurants is acceptable. The interview, however, immediately went off the rails.



"I don't like vegans very much. I don't think any of you are very healthy," Morgan told Animal Rebellion spokesperson Nathan McGovern.

I watched her other skits & they are funny.



She has the ability to make people laugh.



That's actually a rare quality in women in general. I thought she's funnier than many of those female comics who've been on Saturday Night Live in recent years. Gilda Radners they aint. I thought many of them aren't very funny at all.



She could have other appearances and you might hear about her one day if she goes onto bigger and better things.
