I saw my first pair of Red Capped parrots driving to New Norcia a month back...They flew screaming across the road. I can't wait to photograph some one day.

I don't know. I hadn't put much thought into it until I saw this bird thread. I live within forty five minutes of Metro Toronto and urban sprawl has extended to my city. Probably a connection there.
You might have too many apex preditors in the environment... it might be out of balance at the moment.
That could be. I have heard urban dwelling coyotes, raccoons and hawks are are a growing problem here.

I'm trying to get a decent shot of a silver eye...damn things are too small and fast in the wild. I don't like nature shots with man made objects in them...but sometimes its the only way to catch them. In the wild they zoom in, are stationary for a few seconds, then gone. They are the size of a thumb.Quote from: "Bricktop"
Quote from: "Bricktop"cage birds should be allowed to fly around the house too.Quote from: "caskur"
They like their cages but they also LOVE to fly around your house as well.
Birds do not belong in cages, period.
It should be treated the same way we treat docking dogs tails. Illegal.
