Quote from: "Bricktop"Thank you, ma'am.

I did say I would drop by from time to time.

We are relatively unscathed here in South Australia, and so we've not suffered the same impositions as other States or countries. No lock downs. No restrictions. Everyone is being sensible and reasonable under the circumstances.

Of course, our holiday to the UK was postponed. We will have to wait until next year now.

We also have a new addition to the tribe...a new grandson. Life does go on. That's 5 now!!!

Hi Brick

Good to see you. Wondered what would happen to your trip this year. Hope your trip next year goes without a hitch.  Hubby and I are still planning to go to the northeast, Scotland and, if we have time, a hop over to Ireland too, next summer.  Looking forward to it.

Damn, I thought you were a guy.

 :laugh3: Uhh no

Quote from: "It's serious now"I went to the local convenience store and the shelves were empty of booze  if people are starting to hoard alcohol what  wii happen to those that are alcohol dependant

Well if they have a plentiful supply of toilet paper perhaps they could arrange a trade with Mel.  They provide Mel with TP, he provides them with Booze

It's all quite frightening. I work for a developer that owns a number of commercial buildings (office, industrial, retail). Last week one of our buildings had a confirmed case of Covid 19.  It had to be shut down and sanitized.  (Now done on a daily basis for office where people still come into work).

The building I work in is a ghost town. It can house close 2300 people. Yesterday there were approximately 100 people there... most of whom are security, maintenance, cleaners, and skeleton staff from our company.

Fuck SARS-CoV-19!

Quote from: "TheVancouverGuy"In Canada it is now 64 cases in BC, 79 in Ontario, and 29 in Alberta.

Now it is 73 in BC, 103 in Ontario, and 39 in Alberta! Less than 24hrs. This is getting too crazy. In short period of time it'll be really bad.

Brother, it is going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better.

Who here lives in Ontario again? 142 cases as of this morning. Numbers are growing like crazy there.

Myself, Zetsu and realgrimm are Ontarians.

Me too

I didn't know that Friday.

Quote from: "Friday"Events such as this pandemic brings out humanities true nature, and truth be told it ain't pretty, selfless nor intelligent.

What could be more selfless than adults fighting over the last twenty four pack of toilet paper at Costco.

I presume the selfless aspect is to be found in the net result of sufficient toilet paper in the bathroom resulting in the elimination skidmarks in your undies, yeah?  Presuming of course that you use the TP correctly.

I remember during the Asian financial of 1997,  Koreans donated gold to their government. Man has the human race gone down hill in the last 23 years.

I hear ya, sadly it's gonna become a lot worse before it improves - if it improves.

Seeing people hoarding products and reselling them on Kijiji, Bonanza, and e-bay during a pandemic is so disheartening Friday.

I know and I agree. Last weekend we were out grocery shopping and everyone seemed quite civilized. Mid week we went out for some more veggies/fruit/milk and Christ almighty it was like something out of an end of the world movie. All I kept wondering was, how the hell are seniors supposed to get through and survive this? Fucking govt's need to have provisions in place to help seniors living alone with no family nearby to assist them.

Then he's lucky you don't live nearby. A sibling like that would be dead to me too...

I'm glad you cursed him out.

A few days ago, some unauthorized person vandalized one of my small native trees... He left a note with his mobile number. I rang it and blasted the shit out of him.

I was able to move on. I cannot undo what he did.

I hope there are family pictures of the homestead...if there are, mount them.

There are daguerreotype glass images of my ancestors in their homespun finest sitting outside of the home for group photos... they weren't wealthy but they were proud.... my grandfather was born in their corn crib... his ancestors buried in a small plot with gravestones now overgrown... one of the church pews from the now gone church sat in the back entrance room because my mum saved it 30 years ago, and a patchwork quilt sewn from leftover britches of my family...

...all gone now... tossed in a dumpster by my brother and his wife...

He's lucky that all he got was a tongue lashing from you. In your place I'd have pummelled the living daylights out of him and his sodding wife.

We have another Walking Deadhead.

You got me. Mind you, I've learned you can figure out a whole season by watching 2 or 3 episodes tops; season opener, one in the middle and season closer. The trick is staying awake, and or resisting the urge to fast forward through 90% of the episodes you've decided to watch.
