unless you are a big wookie from NY lying on a mortgage app or some nobody low court judge in Wisconsin shuttling illegal criminals out the back door of your court room

then it's just political prosecution when you arrest them

can't we all just get along and return to the good ole days when we were able to  ROger Stone's house at 5am with 50 members of swat and FBI? That was fun and so NOT politically motivated!

Quote from: JOE on Today at 05:17:51 AMOfficial statement said the ultimate cause of death was due to injuries sustained in a car crash with a bus which led to kidney failure:

Giuffre's death comes just weeks after she claimed she had "four days to live" following a collision with a school bus on March 24.

In an emotional post on Instagram, she said in part: "I've gone into kidney renal failure, they've given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology. I'm ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time."

That was a lie..  she just tapped the bus and got no injuries.

Read the link I posted... it's the correct LOCAL information.

It has to happen at some time. Cannot keep kicking this can down the road and not expect a disastrous outcome

Why do democrats have such an adversion to the us being treated fairly by our alledged allies?

News & Current Events / Liberals have Canada on a high...
Last post by DKG - Today at 10:30:38 AM

This is the picture of what Canada could well become in the next 15 years if we continue on this Highway to Hell.

It is written by federal government deep-thinkers skilled at looking into the future.

In a library it would be best catalogued in the section marked Horror.

It is 2040 Canada. It is not the desired future but it is the plausible future.

"It sounds incredible, something from a post-apocalyptic TV show like Fallout or The Last of Us," says Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievere.

"It blows my mind.

"It is just hard to believe, when you read these words, this is about Canada."

One attention-grabber.

In 2040, people might have to find alternative ways to meet their basic needs. They may start to hunt, fish and forage on public lands and waterways and not worry about the regulations.

Hardly anyone believes they can build a better life for themselves or their kids through their own efforts.

Many worry about sliding down the social order.

Education beyond high school excludes all but the wealthy.

Owning a home is not a realistic goal for many.

Inequality between those who rent and those who own has become a driver of conflict.

People see inheritance as the only reliable way to get ahead.

Society becomes more and more like an aristocracy, wealth and status is passed down.

People rarely mix with those of a different status.

Advertising drives the desire to climb the social ladder but economic reality leaves individuals a limited chance of success.

Most people rely on gig work and side hustles.

The Canadian economy shrinks. More people struggle making ends meet, frustration could leave many people deeply unhappy. Mental health may suffer.

More people may move out of Canada where they believe upward social mobility and/or higher standards of living are easier to achieve.

If young workers leave, it may become harder to pay for the systems supporting a growing number of older people.

Naturally, people who work hard but see little reward may reject the systems they believed failed them.

Read this carefully. What follows could be the biggest insight of them all.

Individuals may attack policies believed to favour older people who benefited in the past.

We are already seeing the start of this feeling in this election when Liberal-voting boomers are seen as looking out for themselves and not giving a damn about others or a future where they will not play a part.

In extreme cases, people could reject the legitimacy of the government. They might evade their taxes or engage in other civil disobedience.

People may lose faith in Canada. Some might embrace radical ideas on how to change things.

"I am shocked," says Poilievre.

"This is not an interest group or an opinion columnist or even a think-tank. It's the prime minister's personal department. I think somebody has to ask Mark Carney: Has he seen this report?"

Poilievre bangs the drum for change and sounds the call of hope, of taking a very different approach to running the country, very different than Carney.

Carney stokes the fear of those who believe the U.S. under President Donald Trump is actually taking over Canada, which is not happening.

Or Carney speaks of his grand scheme to spend way more taxpayer dollars than Justin Trudeau.

Poilievre reminds Canadians the Liberals are the Liberals are the Liberals.

The Carney makeover is not even a mediocre job of cosmetic surgery.

It's closer to putting lipstick on that pig.

"Liberals are trying to do everything in their power to make you forget about the last decade they have foisted upon us," says Poilievre.

Meanwhile, the government report sticks with the Conservative leader as he points to "a total meltdown, a societal breakdown in Canada if we stay on the current track."

"Why this isn't blazing the front pages of every news outlet in the country right now is beyond me."

Poilievre knows the answer. We all know the answer.

This is the most consequential election in my lifetime. The results will determine if Canada returns to prosperity and liberty or we become the Argentina of the North.

Quote from: . on Today at 05:58:54 AMMore or less bang on the money, though you are misremembering the timeline somewhat. The Bathurst meetup was something Nozzer and I cooked up and it happened ahead of the Melbourne get together, not behind it. Otherwise, I can confirm your recollection as being an accurate tally with what I know.

Not that it really matters in this place... that "creep factor" is not something that TBC is intimately familiar with where Bricktop is concerned. The furore at Brawl Hall and Flame Champs (as well as his alleged prior activities at the gaming site HCTrouble and Bumspud unearthed) are more than two decades old now and do not appear to have been echoed here. So, twenty years of good behaviour, more or less? That's what TBC sees and I have no personal interest in changing their minds where he is concerned; it serves me no purpose whatsoever.
That is it.

There are some pretty serious allegations being made against Bricktop. All of which occurred before we were familiar with him. Nobody here or on VF has seen anything close to that kind of behaviour. So, expect many to be indifferent or outright denial of such accusations.

I don't know anybody offline and I like it that way. All I know is the what people post and most of the time I liked reading and responding to BT's posts. And I will leave it that.

Politics / Re: Pierre Pollivere
Last post by DKG - Today at 10:06:55 AM
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation(CTF) commissioned a new poll to find out how Canadians feel about the federal plan to ban the sale of new gas and diesel cars by 2035.

The results are in – and they're decisive:

54 per cent oppose the ban
36 per cent support it
10 per cent are unsure

Among Canadians who have made up their minds, 60 per cent reject the government's plan.

Taxpayers know that banning new gas and diesel vehicles means higher costs, fewer choices, and billions in new taxpayer-funded spending.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has pledged to cancel the new gas and diesel car ban and Liberal Leader Mark Carney has stayed silent on the issue.
