The problem with the US Democratic Party

It will get a LOT worse before it gets better, because political ideology has usurped the common good.



The political concept of "entryism", that is joining or embedding into institutions or organisations for subversion and improper manipulation has been carried out by the left for decades now. They have calmly and effectively inserted themselves into journalism, academia, pop culture, bureaucracy and the judiciary, wielding massive influence over the youth in particular by advocating and promoting left values as part of both "education" (or more accurately, inculcation) , "entertainment" (propaganda) and "news" (advocacy and dissent).



Dissembling these institutions to remove the bias and restore balance and fairness will be akin to turning a sweater back into a ball of wool.



In the meantime, the court system will apply leftist principles to their deliberations, primary amongst them that it is society that creates criminals by creating inequity and alienation. Put another way, it is not the fault of the criminal.



Buckle up, buckos...this is only going to get crazier.

Both appear to be what the US Republican party are against.



And I did indicate to Lump on previous occasions  in the other forum that I support a change to citizenship by birthright. I think thats what Republican South Carolina senator Lindsay Graham advocates. Canada should do the same since both Britain and Australia have modified their laws to discourage birther citizenship

I agree.  America and the UK, Germany Sweden and France are the worst off, but most western countries are infected.

I am looking for someone who will stand up against both parties actually to end this division. I miss the days of bipartisanship where at the end of the day, they are friends even if they have totally different agendas and from different parties. What happened to those days? What has caused all this? Is there no turning back the clock? Is it only going to get worse? It's just a shame.

Sadly, those days are long gone and it will only get worse.  Because of US immigration policies the democrats pick up hundreds of thousands of new voters ever year.  At this rate in 12 years or less nearly every northern state will be a deep blue, just like california, as well as some southern ones,.  The democrats will have power over nearly everything.  They will get more and more extreme and their antifa minions will become more violent as the dems cheer them on.

Well if that's true, then the Republican Party is just as extreme as the Democrats.



This extremism manifests itself in either party trying to outspend each other.



The Republicans want unrealistic, unsustainable tax cuts to among other things, fight wars & support an ultra expensive state of the art military machine. Hey dumbos- that requires taxes just like it did during the cold war when taxation rates in the USA where over twice as high as they are today. And that was under the administration of Dwight Eisenhower when the Republicans also controlled Congress during the 1950s. Incidentally, Eisenhower produced budgetary surpluses not deficits.



The Democrats want their entitlements to among other things, fund an ultra expensive healthcare system known as Obamacare. And I agree with American tourists I spoke with....why did the damn rates keep going up? That didn't make any sense. No fee payer system should cost that much to set up and maintain. I agree there was something wrong with that system.



The bottom line is - whatever your party affiliation I think the USA spends too much and doesnt tax enough for what it wants. Hence the sky high projected trillion dollar deficits. Soon it's national debu will exceed its gdp. That is not a healthy ratio. I'd worry about the debt if I were the USA.



I'd be more concerned about bringing down the US debt than coddling spoiled pampered billionaires or accommodating gen xers who want the state to give them something for nothing.



Didn't Alexander Tytler darkly prophesize that democracy ends when it's citizens vote themselves the treasury?



Incidentally I may consider voting Conservative in Canada if Trudeau doesn't smarten up, curtail spending and bring down our debt. He promised stimulus spending to revive the economy, but now that its in full swing he oughta shut off the tap. I actually agree with Tory leader Andrew Scheer. Theres simply no need at the present moment to be running deficts. The party in power should be cutting spending and socking away surpluses now for a rainy day.
