Liberal leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau was paid more than $15,000 for a speaking engagement at a Kingston education conference in 2010, while sitting as a member of Parliament.



Trudeau did a 30-minute speech, followed by a 45-minute question-and-answer period.



Trudeau was hired by the Loyola School of Adult and Continuing Education, which comes under the umbrella of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.



The statement said that prior to 2011, the school board, through Loyola, had annually hosted a professional development conference for the educational staff of the 11 federal institutions in Ontario.



The high-paying speaking engagement was revealed by QMI Agency on Thursday.



Trudeau also charged the school board $780 for a limousine service that took him from Ottawa to Kingston then to Montreal after the engagement.



According to public documents, Trudeau has made $277,000 in speaking engagements since becoming an MP in 2008.
