A South African national has been arrested a day after he flew into Sydney to receive almost 70 kilograms of cocaine in blocks stamped with images of Che Guevara, police say.



The $34 million shipment was detected when it arrived in Sydney earlier this month.

Two young women from Quebec were recently convicted for smuggling large quantities of drugs into Australia.

The price of cigarettes has increased significantly here too, but I don't know if it's caused an increase in any crime besides buying tax free tobacco from Aboriginal reserves.

It going to rise more. It is supposed to be a deterrent to smoking but all it's done has been to increase petty crime.

When I quit smoking, I was paying about $100 for a carton of 200 cigarettes. That's 12.50 for a pack of 25 smokes. They cost more in other provinces. And the price has gone up quite a bit since then.
