I like that idea. And the extra revenue will be used to reduce the price of sporting events tickets.

You are living in a fantasy world. We pay those athletes voluntarily when we buy tickets or watch games online. You say salaries are too high, don't watch games and don't buy trademarked sports franchise items.

How about local sports that are telecast? Should these players receive vast amounts of money for kicking or hitting a ball?



I do not voluntarily pay money for the massive salaries. I am compelled to pay that money in order to enjoy my favourite sports.



Sportsmen and women are not only overpaid, many are paid by a contract that sees them rewarded regardless of their contribution to the sport.



And many are paid subversively through sponsorships that are funded by you buying a shirt, or shoes or a watch that you find meets your needs without even knowing that up to 10% of the cost goes into marketing.

If the games are raking in vast sums of cash, the players will be compensated accordingly. You and I can stop this and I do. I will occasionally go down to Regina and watch the Roughriders play. But, hey, CFL players get paid blue collar wages because earning are not even close to NFL levels. I won't watch a hockey game in person anymore, but I will at the local sports bar. But, Canada has bigger problems than the salaries of hockey players.
