But the problem is criminals obtain their guns from people that got their firearms legally, as long as guns are easy to purchase in the US, gun shooting will continue on and there's not much difference from people trying to put out a chemical fire using only water.

Lets not forget Operation Fast and Furious either, where our government was handing them out to criminals.

I never heard of it, but makes me wonder why your government would hand out guns to troublemakers.

You mean they steal them from legal gun owners?

They illegally sell their guns to criminals or people that aren't allowed to have guns.

If they do that, they aren't law abiding gun owners.

This happens too, robbers see value in guns.

Then we have cities like one I seen, where registered conceal carry permit holders, were exposed on an online interactive map by the city. It was to tell others where gun owners were, but in reality, it was like announcing a sidewalk sale for a robber. The robber would know where the guns were, and simply waited til the homeowner left for the day.

Which city?

It was an article I seen a few years ago, in a north eastern city, but I forget where. You could pull up the map, and literally see red dots on houses.

That's a small part. another part are "straw buyers" where they are bought legally, and then have their serial numbers removed and sold on the black market. then there's people who either buy parts of a gun and assemble them, or smuggle them in from the united states. All illegal acts.

So, my point is that you can make all the laws and bans you want, but if there is zero enforcement of said bans and laws, then it is not worth the paper it is written on.

There was a case up in Leduc I believe of a young man working in a machine shop who made home made guns and sold them.

Its not fair to the millions of law abiding citizens, to disarm them, and let the small percentage of deranged fuckers run amuck.

How about the people in Dayton and El Paso who were shot down by a lunatic with a gun? Are your gun laws fair to them? What about the kids gunned down in their schools. Is that fair?

How about the 50 people killed and many more injured at a music festival in LA? Are your gun laws fair to them?

Why is it MORE important for you to possess guns than it is to protect innocent people from being slaughtered?

Why do you want innocent folks unarmed and defenseless Brick? Why do you want to see more people die not being able to defend themselves?

The vast majority of people in Australia, the UK, Europe, Japan and many other nations are "unarmed and defenceless", yet are far less likely to die of gunfire than the US.

The statistics don't lie.

The question I repeat, yet never get answered, is why do you want unarmed and defenceless women, children and others going about their daily lives to run a higher risk of being gunned down than in any other civilised first world nation?

How can any rational and responsible American read reports such as this;

"In 2012, there were 8,855 total firearm-related homicides in the United States, with 6,371 of those attributed to handguns.[9] In 2012, 64% of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. were suicides.[10] In 2010, there were 19,392 firearm-related suicides, and 11,078 firearm-related homicides in the U.S.[11] In 2010, 358 murders were reported involving a rifle while 6,009 were reported involving a handgun; another 1,939 were reported with an unspecified type of firearm.[12]

Firearms were used to kill 13,286 people in the U.S. in 2015, excluding suicide.[13] Approximately 1.4 million people have died from firearms in the U.S. between 1968 and 2011. This number includes all deaths resulting from a firearm, including suicides, homicides, and accidents.[13]

Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the U.S. gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher.[14] Although it has half the population of the other 22 nations combined, the U.S. had 82 percent of all gun deaths, 90 percent of all women killed with guns, 91 percent of children under 14 and 92 percent of young people between ages 15 and 24 killed with guns.[14] "

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States">//https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States

and claim that firearms ownership is beneficial to a safe and healthy community.

Why do you think mass shooters and people who use said unarmed women and children give two flying shits about the law?

And you're correct on "the numbers don't lie". I suggesat you go back and look at them. Tell me something, why the goalpost shifting to "first world" now? What does a first world country have that is way less likely to be present in a third world country like honduras or el salvador?

Do you stop speeding by dropping the speed limit and telling the police to just park their cars and go do something else?

That could be mental health awareness and inaction.
