OK

Not arguing with that - But where are these treatments when people need them?

They need them now, and they need a different system that gets them to people at home & fast ... as that is not happening ...

They are designed only for early use. The way it is now, by the time people get them they are either well or very sick & headed for the hospital

Info slow today - Seems most countries and provinces go to sleep during holidays

Italy around 100,000 after 110,000 yesterday  .. Canada 30,000  .. high but still not enough time & info to asses the key entity, hospitals

I suspect worldwide numbers will drop drastically, once they stop using the flawed PCR test, as per CDC in January.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Today UK & France together produced a total of 400,000 "known" cases between them & Italy 100,000 itself

Too early to see how serious cases are .. and what the hospital situation will become

Numbers via flawed testing ^^^^

Quote from: "Mayo Clinic"if sent to an outside lab. PCR tests are very accurate when properly performed by a health care professional
.. which is exactly what is done in EU (and Canada)

Here's some more data  > but on Antigen tests

Antigen test.

A positive antigen test result is considered accurate when instructions are carefully followed,

but there's an increased chance of false-negative results — meaning it's possible to be infected with the virus but have a negative result. Depending on the situation, the doctor may recommend a PCR test to confirm a negative antigen test result.

Thus, even a self done inferior to PCR Antigen test with a positive reading is accurate

Your math is off. There are 283,209,339 confirmed cases. Of those, 5,430,731 people have died so far. That is a death rate of 1.9 percent. But, I agree the global reaction is disproportionate to the severity of the virus.

Agh!!! :oeudC:

Man, it sucks getting old.

Apologies to all for my error. My bad.

On the plus side, this is why it's important to cite your source.

You admit when you make a mistake......that's admirable.

A record-setting 2,775 new cases were reported in Alberta Wednesday, bringing the active total to almost 17,400 in Alberta from nearly 8,300 last Thursday..

But, 349 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19 and 57 of those patients are in intensive care.....this is a drop for both.

We are rising too. I haven't checked about hospitalizations and ICU's. I aint out of holiday drinking mode yet.

cc

We  were 2,944  .. about proportional to Alberta ... hospitalizations holding so far

Canada as a whole  was 32,017

It'll be a couple of days after new years before reporting can be relied on again

We jumped from  1,785 to 2,944 "Reported" cases overnight

Our next door neighbor Alberta from  1,400 to   2,775

Looks like proportional to population we are quite parallel at this moment in time .. even though major population centers are a very long way apart ... just the nature of the beast I guess
